Wednesday, May 4th

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wednesday, May 4th

Good Morning Ladies,

Have a little time here before I have to head out the door for work, so thought I would stop by and say hi. A beautiful sunny morning to start off work today. And finally warming up again. It is hard to believe that this is actually May, with the cold temps we have been having. The weekend was fairly nice with normal highs in the 60's and even 70's on Sunday, but crashed again on Monday. Yesterday we barely made it to mid 40's. I can sympathize with those in the PNW and the states south of MI, who are tired of cold, damp and rainy weather. Same here.

Been busy at work getting the buildlings ready to open on Friday. Two of them anyway. We will not open our south campground till the 20th. Yesterday was one of those do a little here and do a little there type days, so you feel like you didn't accomplish much but it all comes together in the end. Three new hires and our new boss are here now, so they are all learning the ropes. And the old boss stopped by yesterday, was good to see him although I have seen him this spring at his new park last month. And the girls seems to be adjusting to my schedule again. I left them for the entire day yesterday, rather than come home at lunch. Most of the time they could care less about going out etc., so it's a waste of time for me to run home in the half hour I have, plus gas to do that. Today I also have a friends dog to let out after I get home from work as they are going to take a run down to OH to a funeral visitation. And also take some stuff over to the garage sale which is starting up again tomorrow. Going to be a busy day.

RV dealer called and said my TT is ready to go, so if I can get out of work a bit early, I would like to go get it. I am scheduled to pick it up next Tuesday, but if it happens to be ready earlier, then I can get it and it is. But I get off work at 4:30 and they close at 5, so it's too tight. Shall see what happens. I would like to get back to my cupboard door project as the wood inserts are ready to be glued in and weather is warm enough to do it. And I want to go camping if I can get some cooperation from mom nature on my days off before Memorial Day.

Well, time to be off. Enjoy your day all.

GOOD MORNING SUE AND ALL!

Coffee is hazlenut and I have some cream cheese topped brownies sitting on the counter! They are making me drool as I type this, so I am going to have to put them out of sight in the cupboard, but, if you should like one for a sweet breakfast treat, you know where they are!

My Bell and Howell solar-powered animal repeller seems to be keeping most of the area's squirrels at bay, so I guess I will order a couple more of them to better surround this house with ultrasonic noises. Molly hates the thing, and I have to remember to turn it off before she will go outside. Therefore, I know it's emitting some sort of nasty sounds when it gets triggered by a critter in front of it. The reviews for this gadget on Amazon are anything but good, but I am finding it's working just fine for me. Perhaps others didn't follow the directions for charging the solar batteries before trying it out, or something. And it might not work for deer, but squirrels seem to avoid it.

I finished my adders' tongue garden yesterday, and guess I am all through with the outside stuff for this year---oh no-----I still need to buy another circle of stone (fake) edging for one more palm tree in the back yard. That should cost only about 15 dollars. I still have a bunch more adders' tongues to do something with, too. Maybe I'll put those around the palm trees inside the edging. When the rainy season begins again down here, everything should be ok with no more daily watering. I love working outside with my pretty plants and bushes, and the limiting amount of space is a far cry from my 400 acres I should be maintaining back home! Everything about this smaller house and property gives me great pleasure as it's never overwhelming.

I did not get to update my GTG website yesterday, but will do that as soon as I post this morning message. I would love to update the music on there, too, but my MP3 player is back in the trailer. Maybe I have some new songs on this computer----I'll check.

Hope you all are having half as nice a morning as it is right here. Stop by and tell us what's up in your area.
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good morning ladies!

It's a dreary, damp day on the eastern shore of MD. Temperatures will top off in the 60's compared to the low 80's we had yesterday. It'll be so nice when the temperatures level out and we get back to springtime.

A couple evenings ago I planted a box full of flowers in a flowerbed. Hubby has been working on turning over the ground for our veggie garden. We have 2 gardens, one for the sweet corn and the other for everything else, so he has his work cut out for him. Between all the rain showers we've been having and keeping the grass cut, we're always doing something around the yard.

Take care & have a good day everyone!

Good Morning...

THE SUN THE SUN THE SUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is making it's weekly check in..letting us know that it is still there in the sky.
Did you know we had the coldest April on record...yep. Most people are saying this has been the coldest and wettest spring. We had snow in April.

I admit the weather has not put me in the mood for anything. I still have the bags of soil and garden plant seeds. We really need a break from the wet and rain.

Baseball season has at times felt more like football season.

Well I need to get going we have appt in town this morning.

Morning, ladies,
Having my coffee with Choco curled up on my lap under his blanket, per usual. We love our routine!
The sun is shining so I'm gonna take advantage of it and and get outside, at least for a walk.

Yesterday I filled the gas tank on my car. It was just under half a tank: $53.39 for 13.6 gals (3.91 a gal w/my discount) !!
Just unbelievable!

I see my niece posted some pictures on Facebook of the OR/CA coast and the redwoods. I'm glad she's enjoying herself. It's been a rough life for
her and her brother with loosing both parents so early in their lives. Sarah was in high school when her mom passed of pancreatic cancer,
her Dad (my brother) has been gone for, what, 4 yrs now?

My trip to the lawyers yesterday was fairly painless. Just dropped off some paperwork from Keybank's probate lawyers as they are filing
a claim against the estate for the boat loan and credit card balance. All claimants (?) have until the 18th to file. And so it goes.... ;)

Amy, I hope you are still recovering on schedule. Hugs.
Sarah, did you get back home yet? I'm sure it's been scary to be homeless for a while.
The tornado went just north of my BF's son's place in GA. He and his wife are expecting their first baby, due on the 10th.

Have a blessed day!

Hello Everyone !!! Not to much activity on the forum today?. Hope you all are well, but most of all enjoying your day. I have done something to my back, and thought yesterday was on the mend, but must have slept on it wrong last night because its been bothering me again today. May have to consider a dr.(chiropractor) :(

Sun is out nice today, but the temp is low, in 50's, and I'm chilled. If I could move more, might warm up :P Having a terrific excuse for a lazy day, :D

I looked in here this morning, and not much happening and most of the day is gone, and still not much happening, so not only a lazy day here, but kind of lonesome too. Oh well, hope you all are having sunny , busy, happy days.

For those traveling, stay safe,
CArol :)

Good afternoon!

Well, tomorrow night.... we depart.

I have a business event at the house tonight. Most everything is moved into the Rv that's coming with us. Tow package is on the truck. Truck was detailed on Tuesday - so sparkly and clean! Sheets are clean, laundry is done up, groceries are stocked up, office is set up. Tomorrow we will fill up the gas tank and the propane and HIT THE ROAD. We won't go too far tomorrow night and will boondock somewhere between here and Denver. We have reservations at Cherry Creek State Park, Friday through May 17th.

So excited to be this close to on the way. The sun has been shining the last two days, so even better!

Hope you all are enjoying the day!
Choose to be happy!

Good afternoon girls! I wish I could warm you all up with our current sunny 94 degrees! What a difference from MN! Monday's high there never made it out of the 30's with some snow flurries...in May!!! A lot of very depressed people up there who are really fed up with the cold, wet weather. At least they haven't had the severe weather like down south. Altho, the jet stream will change soon and start working it's way up that direction and then all bets are off.

I am trying to get caught up with e-mails and posts, etc this morning. I don't go into work until 4pm. My cat is very happy that I am home! She is so sweet!
I am happy to be home!

Soos, do those Adders tongue plants bloom at all? I have never heard of them before. I think you must have had a possum in your yard the other night. I think their prints are similar to raccoons with their long "fingers". Glad to hear you might have a companion riding back with you.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Gosh, I go away for a week and all heck breaks out! Tornado's, a displaced sister, 2 fur babies at the rainbow bridge and who knows what else! I haven't finished reading all of the posts yet and am a little afraid to! Of course, I could have kept in touch with my new handy dandy Droid phone with 3G and the neat little hook=up for my laptop that Pete and Beth helped me with but THERE'S NO VERIZON 3G IN BULLHEAD, FT. MOJAVE OR LAUGHLIN!! Was I yelling? You bet your bippy I was!! Anyway, I'm back safe and sound, reading posts and just cause I don't answer them all it's only because I just don't have the time right now. But thinking of all of you and love all of you!!

Not a lot going on out here on the left coast. Just got back from a week in Laughlin for the annual River Run, a motorcycle thing. Had wind all the way there, rode the bikes in wind all week and drove back in the wind. Did I mention that it was a windy week? And did I also mention at one time or another that I hate, hate, hate driving in the wind??? This has been the windyest (is that a word??) year that I can remember. At least it was warm. Up in the mid-90's today...and breezy. Diesel was a dollar a gallon cheaper there. If the fuel stays up here, I may re-think my plan to sell the property I have there.

Took Hope in today for the start of her facelift. She's getting a new flat screen tv and that big old box the tv is in now shortened up so hopefully I'll quit hitting my noggin on it. It's not exactly what I wanted, but I'm not willing to spend the bucks they wanted to get it. I think this will do ok. Hoping to get the floor put in and the new captains chair installed after that, if the company can get me in. Absolutely love the new recliner! It's so comfy and fits me perfectly. Chewy hates it, not enough room in it for her to lay beside me, so she got a lot of practice in doing a down-stay in her bed.

I have something going on every w/e this month, family reunion on my side the 14th, then one on DH's side the following w/e, jeeping for the Memorial w/e. And then there we are in June! Time is going way to fast. Everyone tries to get stuff like reunions out of the way before June...to hot here after that. That's about it from this side of the country, hope those that are traveling are doing so in good weather, those that are sitting still are having a great time in good weather!

Way past breakfast but thought I would pop in for awhile. Glad you are back with us Sharon, maybe Chewy would like a little place on the back of your new recliner so she can be close to her mom.
Carol I hope your back feels better soon, wish you were closer we could visit and have hot chocolate to warm up. It was 38 degrees here this morning and that is really unusual for May.
Several more areas had to be evacuated due to the floods, they did blow a hole in the levee which flooded a lot of farmland over in Missouri with only a few homes to save some towns along the river.
Happy trails Kim, so happy that the big day will be here in a matter of hours!
