Good Morning...
My trailer is still in winter mode. It has been too cold and wet this spring and I have not been down there in about a month. I want to but the lack of spring..has not put in the camping mood. That and baseball season...LOL DS, Zeke (14) is playing his last year of Pony Baseball and next year it will be High School Baseball. Seems weird in a way..for all these years he has done club sports, now it off to school sports. Which seem to start right up as soon as school gets out. We have all the "summer training stuff and camps information. Norm was called and asked to be one of the assistant coaches for the Freshman Football Team...I am a football widow and the season is still months away. As they start planning in the Spring..so now he has coaches meetings 2 nights a week for the next month or so. Then weight training in the summer, he took the Thursday shift. I have to say..he is blessed with a flexible boss who is supporting him. He only works 4-10's, so he can make up missed hours on Friday.
Kodie started T-ball this year. It is the Little Rookies program through the YMCA, she is actually on a team with 5-6 year olds and it is totally for the fun of the game. I think it will be good for her to work on her physical motor development, we try to find creative ways to get her to work on those things.
Mychal (17) is trying out for the High School Cheer Squad..she will only do Football Cheer as she does gymnastics and that overlaps with basketball. She has tryout's on Wed, but they had practice last night and will again tonight. Then they find out after school on Thursday.
Ethan my 20 year old...finished up at the community college in March on his transfer degree and was accepted to Western Washington University and will start there summer quarter. He is working a temp job right now at the local refinery.
ME...well I keep busy keeping up with the kids schedules. I did join a group called Bellingham Freezer Diva's. We meet once a month and swap freezer meals. Each person brings 6 meals (all the same). Then we do this round robin type thing. You take turns selecting other meals. So you go home with 6 different meals. Plus I now make 2-3 recipes every two weeks. It is nice knowing that dinner is done and taken care of 4-5 days a week. We have a menu that we plan, I check it before I go to bed and make sure the next days meal is pulled out of the freezer and placed in the fridge if it needs to be defrosted, some don't..some can go start from freezer to oven/grill/etc. I admit I have tried this before and failed and that was in part, because of a lack of a good resource and trying to double batch cook my own meals. Now I have this great book..called Fix, Freeze and Feast.
Well I should get off here..and get to cleaning up some things before the day gets to busy.
Thinking about the storm survivors and hope they can soon get back on their feet. Looking forward to planning some camping trips.
We will gain a son this summer for a month. We will have an exchange student from Spain.
