I wasn't going to bore you with another sunrise picture, but just can't help myself...

There's a Bluegrass Festival this evening at Silver River State Park in Ocala, and I will be there as a volunteer. I'm looking forward to that, but wish they'd had space in the cg to stay the night. Will have to come back here late tonight.

Time to take Roe for our morning hike. See you later.

SATURDAY MORNING

Postby Colliemom » Sat Apr 02, 2011 7:50 am

Good Morning Everyone,

Are we all up and bushy tailed this morning, or would we rather be still curled up under the covers and forget about doing anything for today? I finally rolled out a bit after 7, but my ambition level is not up to much this morning. Once I get going, then I will start doing something.

Not much of anything planned for today here. Go through house and finish gathering what I want to put in the garage sale. This will be the last garage sale for me till I put my own house on the market and start getting rid of the everyday stuff I am now using. Weather isn't going to be too great these next few days so will be a good time to do in house stuff like that and of course the weekly cleaning  . Hoping we see some rain out of this front that is coming through as we are abnormally dry here and it will also wipe out what remains of the snow. Might see a little snow too, but no big deal. Typical for April. Oce this front is past, then I am going to pull the cover off my TT and then it will be ready to head for dealers for dewinterizing soon as the nights stay above freezing, which will be awhile.

Took the girls over to the park yesterday and perchance got to meet my new boss. He isn't officially here yet, but is hoping to be pretty soon. Is just waiting word as to when he will be starting officially down here. He's really nice, going to be nice to work for from what I can see. Think it will be a good summer.

So I'm gonna get this day rolling. Breakfast dishes are calling, bed needs to be made, time to get out of jammies and get with it. Have a great day all. If you are on the road, travel safe and enjoy.

The sun is up and bright here in Abbeville. As usual, the sites are full at Betty's-everyone busy, eating and getting together for the late afternoon happy hour (which lasted for some until 8pm  ). Met a couple who were so enamored of the southern hospitality after coming for 3 years, that they bought a place. Wouldn't you know, they had just traded in their older MH for a new one  Waiting to hear from Martha about a GTG either today or tomorrow. Well, no matter where you are, chores have to get done, so need to do laundry, clean up and mop. (won't take long-why I love the MH :D ) Now for a 2nd cup of coffee and some cereal/bananas. Help yourself. carold

I love waking up to the birds in the morning. A definite sign that spring is really here. They have their own little morning routine down to the minute. I could use them as an alarm clock.

Tested out my new coffee bean grinder this morning and it works quite well. I actually prefer to buy the coffee already ground, but once in awhile I goof up and get beans, so it's nice to have a grinder available. I'd love to get one of those coffee makers that grinds the beans and brews the coffee while I'm still sleeping. That purchase might have to wait a bit.

Hope you all have a terrific Saturday and that everyone's weather behaves!

Good morning all

Thank you, Liz for all the sunrise posts - have never seen a boring one. Not only do I enjoy your photos, but lately I have really needed to see a reminder that there is still sunshine out there somewhere. We had 10 inches of rain in March, most during the last two weeks so no sun here. That situation is changing today - will get to see/enjoy the sun in person - and that is my plan for today. I was up in time to see the sun rise but missed it. it is looking good out now and the temps will finally be getting back to more seasonal ones.

Picked my taxes up yesterday. Good news - will be getting more of a refund from Fed than expected and do not owe more to state. Wish I could say the extra was going into a travel fund but I suspect it will get used for some over due repairs/maintenance around here.

Enjoy your day

Morning!
Woke up with a stiff neck. Probably just muscles yelping after all the mowing yesterday. This ole body is so out of shape with this very looonnnggg Winter! :?

Ava, I'm so sorry you had to witness something that really pained you. I hope one day you can share it with us. Until then, you know we are praying and thinking of you.

Barbie, sure hope that one day you find a place to put some permanent roots down. Prayers going up.

Rain, of course, came in last night. I haven't seen the reports for today, but suspect more of the same. I do have the hope that summer will eventually arrive. I'm so certain that I'm going to check on a campground about 100 miles up the interstate! I might just go there even if it's to sit in Little Missy and read. Desperate times calls for............

Have a blessed day!

Lenora, which cg are you referring to that is 100 miles up the interstate? I have been to just about all of them in Washington, depending on what direction you go once you hit Olympia I wonder if you are talking of Hoods Canal..lots of those campgrounds are terrific..I love the canal. If it's Doswalips St Park it almost always has elk in the fields.
You mentioned that you had warm temps yesterday. Funny how just a little distance apart and different weather. It has been storming and rainy here for the last week. Today is pleasant, mornings are good and then then it changes around 9:30 or 10:00. Whitecaps in the bay this morning. I try to leave the beaches open to the weekenders...they get all the parking spots...since I have all week to be there. but am feeling a little cabin-fever today so may just go join them.

Hello Ladies...morning has left the East Coast already, but it's still morning on the West Coast, so I figure I can still post here.

Liz, the pics were gorgeous as always...never boring shots from you.

Our day started out beautiful here...first sun in four days! I went off to get the car washed inside and out, then I headed off to Costco. I was out of kitty litter--OMG! :o  :o I bought three 42-lb bags...one of the folks in Costco asked if I kept lions, and another asked "How many cats do you have???" I explained to both that I buy a lot at a time so I don't have to hoof 42-lb bags too many times a year. This stock will last til June probably. Part of the joy of Costco is the hot dogs...I know we shouldn't eat them, but I can't help it. I love their dogs!!!

So I got home, cleaned out three (yes three!!) litter boxes and topped off with clean litter. Then I vacuumed around, upstairs, downstairs, living room, bedroom, entry ways front and back. Got the sheets from the washer into the dryer, and when they are dry and back on the bed, I think a nap is in order. The wonderful start to the day has now turned into a windy, grey and rainey afternoon. (By the way is it grey or gray???)

I found out this week that I'm getting money back on taxes! YIPPEE  I really was worried, but the RV as the 2d home helped a lot. So I went crazy and ordered all the things I'd decided I needed for Foo Foo. Got wheel chalks, a new topper for the bed, a step stool for the toilet room (my dear friend and travel mate to WA next year is a very height challenged lady--she'd tip off the toilet without a little step I'm afraid), a collapsible dish drainer and collander. I also bought the bike flags that I will use in future to back into CGs. They are about 4.5 feet tall and have metal bottoms that should be put on the back bike wheel. Instead I'm going to use that metal piece to wedge into the ground so they will stand up when I need them. Will be so easy to see in the mirrors to determine side-to-side and how far back to go. I think it's a brilliant idea, don't you!    ;) ;)

Geesh, it's starting to pour outside. Will winter ever end? I have this feeling that we'll go from this long winter right into the hot, humid summer of Central VA! Oh well, at least my bulbs have all come up...double petal tulips and sweet smelling hyacenths! Lovely... :D

Well, Ladies, I'm feeling a little sleepy, so I'm gonna put the bed back together and snuggle for an hour with the cat girls!

Have a wonderful day...

Happy shopping, LI - one question - why wheel chocks for a class c? I suppose if you really, really aren't level they might come in handy - but then I'd just move.

Beth, a really good question...

when I initially thought about chocks, I didn't think I needed them; but a fellow I was talking with last week while camping related a time when he had a problem and had to stop on a side road on an incline...it was a problem for him to keep the rig really safe and steady. So I thought what the heck...they are about $20 for the set and they're lightweight. If I never need 'em, then ok; but if I find I need them, I'll have them. ;)

Good morning ladies
have been up for several hours of course, but my virus scanner was expired and had to load
a new one and then do a full computer scan, and that takes foreverrrrr! Can't seem to find
a free virus scanner anymore, they all are just month long trial versions and then they want
me to buy. My last one was avast and it was free for a year but no more, they want me to
buy it. Will continue to do some research on all that and maybe I'll find one that really is free.
Did my run to the bank, got my weeks worth of gas and a few groceries so those chores are
done. Did the dishes and cleaned the kitchen and here I am :D
Will do some laundry and clean my room and by then I'm sure it'll be time to get ready for
work. Ya'll have a great day, I'm gonna go turn on the swamp cooler now.

Ava

Try Micro$oft Essentials. Totally Free...and not as large as many of the other virus programs. I have had NOOOOO problems with it downloading initially or running the updates in the background. My dad uses it as well...and again, no problem. I am a big fan!!! I've had it for about 1.5 years...give it a go...free forever as far as I can tell...I've not paid a cent. :D

GOOD AFTERNOON ALL!

I'm back in St. in the beautiful sunshine, working on the swimming pool. It came through the storms in fine shape, and just needed some vacuuming (via a hose vacuum with venturi action, sucking stuff off the bottom into a little filter bag) and some skimming. I am in the screen porch now, taking a break, and am heading back out to do some swimming.

I would love the bluegrass festival, too, Liz------wish I had the gumption and the money to drive up there for the day, but, as I have neither at the moment, I will just have to be content to go for a swim and listen to bluegrass on myh MP3 player through my speakers in the trailer!

RABBITS, Karen, can be said any time after midnight on the first day of the month, for luck all month, supposedly. I missed it again, as I usually do, because Molly wakes me up and I automatically talk to her! Oh well------some of you remembered, and maybe that will bring us all good luck.

I hope Kathleen is having good weather, and that she will find someplace with an internet connection to check in with us soon.

Happy first Saturday in April to us all!

Technically I'm 49 minutes late for saying "good morning", but forgive me. I was setting up the rig. Yesterday I only worked half a day then went home with a horrid sinus headache. Took to my couch with warm rice bags for my head the rest of the day and finally, about 4 am, woke up feeling better. Weatherman said today would be sunny and nearly 70 so I got dressed, went to the store for a few supplies, then loaded the rv and headed out. It's only me and Gus today. The goddess is home with a cold that she always gets this time of year and it always turns into bronchitis. Each year we hope it wont' and so far this year it hasn't. Perhaps it will be lucky for her this time.

I just couldn't bear to stay home in my neighborhood and do some kind of housework on such a pretty day. I have excuses of course: (a) my black/gray tanks need emptying and (b) there's been a lot of rain since I had the awning out last and it probably needs to be rolled out and let dry in the sun. So now I'm parked about 35 miles from the house at Bledsoe Creek State Park. Gus is asleep on the couch beside me and I am dozing a bit myself. The awning is drying in the sun and dogs are barking in the distance. It's a bit breezy but nice.

Got here and set up then put some chicken breasts in marinade for supper and made up a mixed green salad. Called a girl I served in the Navy with who lives about 10 miles from here and she's joining me for supper so I will cook on the campfire tonight. Got way too much chicken but it will just go into lunch next week. Gus and I hiked a couple miles once I finished up the food preparations. Guess I'll start a campfire this afternoon which means I have time to take a little nap with Gus. Very tempting....

Oh, that does sound wonderful!! Good for you. Hope your sinuses are doing better.

Today it's sunny and breezy with intermittent bouts of wet snow falling! Talk about weird weather! So I finally decided that the "maid-fairy" wasn't going to show so I'd better mop floors and wash rugs. So that's what I've been up to. Fun, huh? NOT!!
