COOLER FRIDAY MORNING

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

COOLER FRIDAY MORNING

Postby Colliemom » Fri Mar 18, 2011 7:22 am

Good Morning everyone,

I've been puttering around here, reading up on some of the diffferent threads, waiting for somebody to start some coffe this morning. Well, I guess since everybody's decided to sleep in, I will start it.

A bit cooler here at the 45th this morning. Althought it's 40 degrees. But a cold front came through last night and we are supposed to drop back into our more normal highs of mid 30's to mid 40's. That's still warm enough to melt snow although a bit slower. I has been in the mid to upper 50's and sunny these past couple of day and we had rain for awhile last night. So the snow has taken a beating. My backyard is clear now except for where I blew it with the blower and a some drifted areas. My front yard is down enough to have both drifts and bare ground, so I will go out and remove the last of my burlap covers from my shrubs and take off the wood covers I put over my other shrubs by my porch to keep the snow from weighing them down. Although it's cooler, once the sun gets out, it's heat will do some work. Last I heard, we may have more rain on Monday.

Well, I got my errands run yesterday. Didn't have to go to Walmart as Meijers had that same dog food this time, so I just picked it up there. Dropped my lamp off for repair and will make a trip back into town today to pick it up. Don't really want to have to make a special trip for that, but I don't want to leave it up there all weekend either. Plus my neighbor gave me a bag of stuff to take to our Catholic school as one class is gathering items to send to the troops (hand lotons, soaps, toothpaste, those types of things), So will drop that off for her.

Echo, glad to hear you have new tires for your TT. Now you will be all set to roll back to the lodge when the time comes. When are you supposed to be heading back up there anyway?

Irmi, glad your dad is doing well and out of the hospital. Hopefully he will be feeling better now that they found the cause of all the pain, but sorry he had to go through another sugery again.

This colliemom spotted what would be a perfect RV for me yesterday. A neat 21 ft. BT Cruiser. 2006 with only 32,000 miles on it. About 100 miles from me here. But..... My TT is paid for, but I am still paying down my truck loan, so no can do  Oh well, there are reasons for things. Anybody looking for what looks like a really nice looking little RV, just google www.InternationalRVWorld.com, click on it's Bay City, MI link and go into the used RV's. It's back about page two or three.

Well, off to get into today's adventures. Working on my TT stove top cover, pick up the lamp, walk the dogs, etc. etc. Oh yeah, gonna add me to the camping sign, but need to go to Hobby World and get some light blue paint. Used up the last bottle doing the sign :)

Good morning Sue and all who follow, from Clearwater Lake, FL.

Unlike last time we were here, the campground is full, and we took the last available site. Spring break, lots of kids. Also unlike last time, the temps are warmer and people are sunbathing on the beach and swimming in the lake. I may not take my kayak out this time, if it's too busy out there. Hopefully, unlike last time, hunting season is over and we'll be able to hike the trails without the sound of gunshots :o . Roe's waiting patiently for that hike to begin.

I made coffee the old fashioned way (Melita  ), and oatmeal on the stovetop, so as not to disturb anyone with the generator this morning. Cooked a turkey breast yesterday in my half-time oven...took about an hour. Then reheated some slices for dinner last night & made stuffing, gravy, green beans. You could all come for Thanksgiving dinner here. But you'd need to sit outside at the picnic table to eat it.

Joselyn is camping with me, as is her cat. So far so good. Bandit likes Tattoo's food, and Tattoo likes Bandit's bed.

Hope everyone has a great day.

GOOD MORNING SUE, LIZ, AND ALL!

I looked at that RV you mentioned yesterday, and it really is neat----but I dislike having no price to see. Hence, I just closed the whole link out of my mind. I want to at least see a ball-park figure before I even contact them. I, too, cannot afford such a rig now, and am trying to be happy with what I have.

While walking into Publix yesterday afernoon, I got a call from my daughter, Mandy. Luckilly I hadn't gone inside yet, or they probably would have called in a psych squad! She casually mentioned to me that sometime in October I could become a grandma! I have been so hoping for this to happen, and I burst into wild, loud, tears, laughter, dancing, crazy behavior, while trying to fathom what she just said! I had to move back toward my truck rather than hang out near the front door as I think I was scaring some people! She isn't getting any younger, and, thanks to her guy, Joe, she finally decided it was time to become a mama! She will be on a sabatical leave at that time, so it's a perfect time to launch into parenthood! For about 3 months when she has to be back in school after that, Joe will stay at home and be the Daddy/housekeeper parent, and then she will again be off for the summer. I am so excited for them, and for me! Now I have to hope that things go as well as they have been going, (no morning sickness, no nothing, so far) and that my grandchild will be spectacular! I will definitely be up there for the birth and I can't wait!

Not sure if I will stay right here for the weekend, as my son is sick with a nasty cold in St. Cloud, and I surely don't want to get that. I was going there today to mow the acres for them, and, I suppose if I stay out of their house and strictly in my trailer and outside, I would be ok. I'll think about it while I am swimming in the pool for a while first!

Liz, where is Clearwater Lake? Do they allow tent/truck campers there? Are there any spaces at all for tents? I suppose most of the spring breakers are tenters!

Happy Friday to all----the news from Japan about the nuclear plants seems more optimistic today, except for those poor workers, of course, who have been exposed to so much radiation they are probably getting fried from the inside out. Perhaps, if they can get those plants up and producing power safely, they can concentrate on helping the poor masses trying to survive the earthquake and ensuing tsunami. The stoicism of the people makes me proud of the human race once again, unike the behavior of our people after any horrible natural disaster. Perhaps we can all learn something about how to raise our children from the Japanese people, and how we, as adults, can behave toward each other in the face of tragedy and disaster.
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good morning all, we have sun again this morning. I spent yesterday in STL and it was 81 degrees and humid ack :!: Hard to believe I had to cancel my appointment Monday because of snow and ice storm. I finally had the stress test that I had so dreaded and all went well, what a relief.
My little WInnie is sick and I am really worried about her. DH took her to the vet yesterday and they found nothing but something is wrong, Mom's know when their little ones feel bad. She is drinking and going to the bathroom excessively, no other symptoms and blood work up didn't give any clues, & glucose was normal.
Great news Soos that you are going to be a Grandmother, I'm so happy for you. Liz, I'd like to be there to share the turkey dinner with you all, sounded good and I'm hungry. Sue I looked for the RV you mentioned but couldn't find the link to a MI dealer.

Good Morning everyone... another hot day here in Fl sorry all you freezing in the north land... I am hoping to wash the outside of Bright Hope today but time will tell... I have a nasty rash with puss filled sacks between my third and fourth fingers of my right hand it itches like crazy but cannot itch it... have been putting anti itch cream on it and cream on my hands to take the dryness away...

Oh what an accomplishment I finished the lace panels for my mobile home back in Illinois... when I get home I will make some for Bright Hope... I put two of the short panels up behind the couch in here (they are way to long) they look good so I will leave them there until I get home... makes it look like home...

YEA YEA for Soos the grandma to be!!!

Hope everyone has a great day and thanks Sue for opening the coffee room... next time cinnamon rolls please...

mmmmmmm......... cinnamon rolls, sounds perfect!

Good morning!

Woke up to winter wonderland with 6+ inches of fresh snow. This after days of 50+ degree weather and sunshine. oh well. Sun is already breaking through the clouds where we are and snow is letting go of the trees. Looks like Aspen is still socked in pretty good - dark clouds still hovering over them to the south of us. It is perfectly peaceful and beautiful here at our property, but apparently as news filters in to me from friends/neighbors and my hubby, there are accidents galore, electricity has been out for hours just a few blocks from us and Randy says a very large tree is down at the golf course, just 1/4 mile from us. This is a very wet snow.

Supposed to hit 51degrees today and stay at that for at least a week. I expect snow will melt off by this afternoon.

Had one cup of coffee and then switched to herbal tea. Woke up with dizziness, trying to kick it out of my system. Think it has something to do with head cold trying to set in. Moving around too much makes me nauseous. Probably won't be a terribly productive day.

I love to hear how you are all spending your days. Gives me great ideas!

Enjoy!

Hooray for the new almost-grandma! It is such a neat, neat journey!

Please send your warm thoughts. We are supposed to be bringing up the RV to our house tomorrow, but can't do it if snow is still on the ground - so think warm. If not tomorrow then next weekend, providing weather cooperates.
Choose to be happy!

Congratulations Soos on your news of expectant grandparenthood! You'll have lots of fun preparing for that big event.

Clearwater Lake is a National Forest Campground in the Ocala NF near Paisley (Intersection of SR 19 & County Rd 42). There are mostly tent campers here or vans, but a few big rigs too. No elec./water hookups, but they do have a dump station & fresh water fill, as well as nice hot showers & flush toilets in the bathhouses. Also a small room with sink for dishwashing. You could definitely camp here with your truck.

Dang it!!! 12:01pm..... Oh well!

Hello Sistahs!

I was in here before noon but got reading and that did that. ~sigh~ Nothing much to report here. Same old, same old. It was cooler last night, down in the 30's but now the sun is doing it's job and shining brightly. Feels good on the shoulders while outside.

Sue, Ebbie and I report back to work at the Lodge on May 5th. Unless of course they call and ask us to hold off a day if they don't have all the snow plowed out of the way again this year. It ought to be interesting this year when we first get up there as it turned really cold and all the water pipes to the employee area froze before the water got turned off. So the boss man and the guys who will be working maintenance will probably have lots to do! ICK!!!

Soos!!!! Lots of congrats to Mandy, Joe and you too. I can just see you being a Gramma!!! You will be awesome...... :D

Ok, off to read and catch up. Breath deeply, stretch all them muscles and enjoy what ever the day brings. Be safe everyone!

Love to all

Going on noon here, but wanted to add my congrats, Soos!! I know you are 'over the moon'!! Congrats to the parents to be, too!

Pouring rain here. So what's new? Finally took Choco up to get his nails trimmed, way past due. I also bought him some different flavored (?) dog food. Same company, just different meat combo. As it was pouring rain he didn't want to go pee before leaving for the trim, so he promptly peed on the stack of still boxed canned dog food at the store! :x They gave me a rag and some spray to clean it up. Good thing the boxes were covered with plastic so it didn't soak in.

Leaving here soon to go visit my DD. She's got a few days off work and my SIL is in Phoenix visiting his Mom so we can have some bonding time before the GDs get home from school.

Stopped in to chat with the estate lawyer yesterday. Got a few more answers but mostly still a waiting game on creditors. I still haven't sold the pick up, RV or motorcycle. My DD wants the PU and cycle out of her garage/driveway as it's a constant reminder. They are also getting another vehicle and need the space. Looks like I may have to rent a storage space for them.

And so it goes............

Soos...That's wonderful news! It wasn't all that long ago that you mentioned that you hoped to be a gramma some day! Let the spoiling commence! First thing on the list has to be a baby backpack or a 4X4 stroller so you can take him/her on hikes with you and Molly. ;) You're going to be a wonderful Nana!
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.
