Saturday morning sunshine

The sun is shining in the window beside my table and it makes me feel good. Only 48 outside but I'll take it. Gus and I had an early morning walk and now he's in bed with the Goddess while I do computer things which he hates because it takes me away from scratching his ears. Will have some breakfast soon and go pick up the grands. Luckily the trace is only 10 minutes from their house. Posting pix and updates on my blog (www.horizonseeker55.blogspot.com) . Hope everyone of you is waking up to blue skies and sunshine.

good morning sunshine!!
well, not exactly yet, its still a little dark out but the sun is on its way. Not feeling a whole lot
better today except my lymphnodes feel ok this morning so I guess thats a good thing. Will do
a few very minor chores, refresh the girls poddy pad for one, take out some trash and then go
back to bed for a little while as I watch the morning news.
Everyone have a great day and be safe, be well and enjoy.

Good Morning from freezing FL... I got up earlier and it was 32 turned on the electric heater and went back to bed... it will recover into the low 70s later today...
It was my fault that I was tired yesterday... by accident I took my night medicine in the morning... daaaaa guess I was asleep when I did that one... all better now...
Oh Ava I hope you feel better soon...
Almost try to use the back space when that happens sometimes your post will appear and sometimes now... sorry have done that myself...
May each of you have a wonderful day...
Kathleen

Good morning all,

Had a post all set, hit the button and poof here too  So will try again.

Vickie, I love the looks of "Horizon Seeker" and the name fits perfectly. You certainly are going to be seeking new horizons. Keep us up on your trip up the Trace. I especially am watching to see what kind of campgrounds you find along the way as I am considering doing that next spring if I spend part of the winter in FL. Might take the trace home. Was on it a number of years ago before it was completely finished all the way to Nashville and enjoyed it immensely. Such a beautiful drive and I still see it in my nind.

Well, I see they now have an explosion at a nuclear plant in Japan. Certainly hope they can deal with that. Despite the tremendous loss of life, the extreme damage, the tramatic upheaval those people have experienced, they remain very calm and collected it appears. Even in Tokyo during the height of the quake, you didn't see people running in mass exodus from buidings and panic in the streets like we do here. They acted very calm and collected, took shelter where they could find it and waited it out.

Not much on the agenda here today. Got a load of wash in the washer, brreakfast is in the tummy, dogs have been up, Sassy got her meds, they went out for a bit, came back in and are now taking morning naps  Such a life. Not a care in the world. Got a long walk yesterday, which they enjoyed.

Guess we are going to get a trace to 2 inches of snow from a clipper today. No big deal. After this it looks like some nice mild weather settling in and maybe even some rain showers later this week. Maybe a little snow mixed in one day. But par for the course in March.

Well, will try and post again and see what happens. If I lose this one, I quit. Have a great trip Vickie and a great day the rest of you.

GOOD MORNING VICKIE, AVA, LENORA, KATHLEEN, AND ALL!

It's not cold at all down here in the southern-more part of FL in St. Cloud, and the sun is shining in a cloudless sky, per usual. I can't get over how good seeing sunshine makes a body feel. Days and days of snow and clouds and cold and grey and other wintery stuff like back home puts a body into a funk it's hard to get out of until the crocuses poke their heads up through the melting snow. Here, green things and birds and sun and warmth prevail all winter! I suspect, as it's been snowing back home all week after the last snowstorm which dumped over 3 feet, that my crocuses may be a bit delayed in 'peeking' this spring!

Fallon and Molly have had their breakfast, been out to make their rounds of the property, I have coffee made, and plan to go back out to throw a ball for them to run and fetch and get some exercise. Fallon actually fell asleep with her big head (she's a large blond Lab) on the sofa next to my hand with which I was patting her! Suddenly I heard snoring, and opened my eyes to see her slipping down to the floor! She's a very good dog, although I suspect not overly bright, but of a perfect temperment to be a service/guide dog for Melissa's mother. Of course, maybe she is a lot smarter than I give her credit for, as I could be spoiled by Molly's intelligence!

The news from Japan is not good at all this morning, as I was watching the news about the Nuclear Power Plants. I pray that they get some good generators to those sites before it's too late for anybody to get close enough to provide the power needed to circulate the cooling water----or perhaps it's already too late, as I think I saw a roof on one of the plants cave in. They are evacuating everyone for many miles around them now, as best they can. The dead count is mounting with every minute, and, if those plants have a melt-down, the count will become astronomical. I have had two arguments against nuclear power plants all my life-----one is the disposal of the spent fuel rods, which are still very toxic, and the second was are they designed to withstand tornadoes and hurricanes and earthquakes.

Today I will downnload some more of the MP3 music Melissa got from her boss, pick some more mulberies as I printed out some recipes to try using them, including mulberry crisp, and probably loll around in the sun next to the pond. Oh yes----I need to get into the back of the truck and cut the blinds I bought last year to fit those windows and begin to get it ready for a trip home. I'm not sure how I will fasten those to the walls as yet, as the walls are not vertical nor really flat. Just when I am planning to go remains unknown at this time----certainly not before my driveway gets past its quagmire condition it becomes every spring.

Please be careful on the roads, and count your blessings as you think of Japan. The price of gas pales in comparison to what they are experiencing.

Good morning! Coffee is on....just black and strong. We had a week of weird weather....snowed Monday thru Wednesday without any wind or major accumulations...just enough to make the roads treacherous for driving. Then a warm up on Thursday and Friday...up to 55 yesterday...now the wind is howling and it's 21. Have to go to funeral this morning a friend's mother passed away...she was 92. Sophie lived a long and happy life. Then this evening three of my friends and I are going on a girl's night out to the local casino. Next week I have to go to Deadwood SD for the county highway superintendents conference trade show Tuesday thru Thursday. I'm kind of dreading that....it gets to be long days and again our secretary did not reserve my room in the same hotel that the conference is being held. But the up side of it is that I'll have over 10 hours of windshield time and I'll have to take Friday off because the state will not pay any overtime. Yesterday my boss informed me that he has booked me for another conference in Rapid City in September. I used to enjoy the manning the booth at trade shows but it's getting a little old. Several friends have offered to ride along but they can't ride in the state vehicle. If I could get all the crap that I have to take in my car I would drive it...but I have to take a huge 4X4 cargo van that is normally used to transport inmates. Well, I have to get to the bank and the grocery store before I leave for the funeral so I'd best get crackin'. Have a good day everyone.

Horizon Seeker, Good for you on finding the 'just right' mh. We have to make so many purchases in life and many times we have that feeling of 'I wish this felt better' to downright buyer's remorse, but when it all falls right into place; wants, needs, price, it's so euphoric.
I don't know you but assume you must have a sense of humor if you're on this forum. I read the other posts to see if anyone teased you about whose ears you usually scratch Gus' or Goddess' :o :D
Seems the cyber monster is on the attack. I am having computer crashes and if I get this sent I'll be lucky. I am way behind on welcomes and Happy Birthdays so for any reading this who are new or having birthdays, here are my wishes :D

Hello Sistahs!!!

Yeah I know it's not morning any longer. ~sigh~ But the weather outside my door is beautiful. Yesterday Kelly plugged in the fan for the first time. Have it running again today too. Sure warmed up fast!!! Probably with in the next couple of weeks I've be crabbing and complaining about sweating and dieing of the heat!
"
My heart and prayers go out to all in Japan. And to everyone affected by this tragedy. Including here in this country from the resulting tsunami. Wild, crazy and heart rending stuff.

Daylight savings is here. So don't forget to turn your clocks ahead one hour tonight. Kelly and I will have to try and remember that from now on we will be one hour ahead of AZ. AZ doesn't do the daylight savings thing. Wish so much that they would simply do away with the crap!!! Time zones themselves are sometimes a PITA to deal with let alone try and remember and work with states that don't do it and the one that do!!!!

Just got off the phone with my brother a few seconds ago. Had to interrupt this to talk to him. Doctors are recommending he have surgery to place a ?? heart pump ??. From what he says it and the wires will be outside of his body and down by his groin. He is suppose to have 2 or 3 people come learn how to take care of it for him as they said he wont be able to see it well enough to care for and clean the pump. He also said whatever med they said he will have to take for it ?? he can't take as it causes his ulcers to bleed. I guess they are checking on alternatives to the medicine. He said that if he can't care for and clean himself and that if they can't find an alternative medicine he will not go thru with the surgery. Said if something happens to his "Lady" that he refuses to ask or expect her kids to come over every day to clean it. And he will also have to surrender his drivers license!!!! Needless to say this is not going over well at all with him. This part of getting older is hateful and hurtful. When it affects not only you but everyone around you. :x :(

OK, nothing much else happening here. So will end this here while I go checking and reading what ya'll have been up to. Hope everyone has a good day, can enjoy the weather your having in your little corner and to be safe while doing so.

Love to all

Hello everyone!

Sorry I missed posting this morning, but have been trying to get caught up on things at home that got neglected this week while we were caring for my parents. Most things are done that were on the top of the list and will do a few more things tomorrow.

I called the nurses station at the hospital to check on my father and got a positive report. I will go in tomorrow to see him. Since my sister is up from NC, they don't need me or my hubby there all day, and this is a relished break.

I put a ham on for this evenings dinner and tomorrow I'll put together a batch of chicken & dumpings.

Have a good day, what's left of it and be careful, wherever you are.

Irmi, I'm so glad you're getting more help - you really needed it. And I'm happy to hear your father is doing better.

Echo, the news about your brother is sad confusing - and I'm sorry to hear that. I hope that they can find another solution. AND I hope they don't take away his driving if they don't have to. If it's a necessity - then I hope he can come to terms with it.

We will have it up at our house next weekend! Wooooohoooooo! :D
