WINTER WEATHER WEDNESDAY

Good Morning Everyone,

Now trying saying that title fast a few times Bit of a tongue twister therre.

Winter Weather Advisory posted for here today. Mix of rain/sleet/snow etc. all day into tonight when it will change to snow showers. They aren't saying how much accumulation of this junk we are supposed to get, but guess it's all heading to the Northeast after it's over. Then going to be nice on Friday and another Clipper system coming through on Saturday with snow. After that it looks like a stretch of nice mild weather. Typical spring in Michigan. Had three beautiful days in a row here with warm sun and meltlng snow, so we are getting there. Won't be long and I will pull the cover from the TT.

Was chatting with a lady who owns the ice cream place down here in Waters (yes, I did my Fat Tuesday thing yesterday) and she has an RV too. An older MH. She and hubby and kids camp when they can. We were talking about RVing and the gas prices and we both agree that it is not going to stop us from going, but we will just stay closer to home and we have plenty of parks with a 50 to 75 mile drive of home. With my work schedule I can only go a couple days at a time and need some time between trips to do things here. With the acreage I have here, it's going to be a bit expensive in the gas dept. for me to cut grass, fuel my truck and try to go camping every other week or so. That dream of heading out west to CO and WY is still there and with luck, I can set some more money aside to go. I've been saving for abut 8 years now, so hopefully this summer will top it off although I am considering headng south to FL next wnter for awhle. that might put a little dent in that money but we shall see how it all works out.

Since it's going to be a lousy weather day, I am going to finish off the spring cleaning around here. Won't take long. Just have my breezeway to do and wash the window valances from there and my kitchen which can be doing while I am cleaning. Will clean out th pantry and wash the shelves. Then will be done. Got to pick up the basement a bit too. Mostly just dust for webs and sweep the floor and steps. Am planning on having some RE agents come out and give me some CMA's to see if it's worth my listing this spring. May take a year or two to sell, who knows. Neighbor has been on market about 7 months and a half dozen showings, but no offers as yet.

Time to quit all this jabbering and get with it aruond here. It's early though, only 7:45 a.m. The girls are having their "mornng naps", having gone outside, taken care of business, Sassy has her meds etc. Don't know if we will walk today or not. Did a long one yesterday, about two and a half miles, so they got their walk in.

Have a wonderful day everyone.

Rain, rain and more rain here. It has been so dry for so long I guess we should be grateful but...I wish it wouldn't all come at once!
I was driving home from a doctors appointment in St. Louis yesterday afternoon, it was raining there too and I had a very interesting experience. Here I am in 4-5 lanes of traffic, visibility isn't that great and I get a phone call. It was one of my best friends from here and she said I am right behind you!! I glanced in my rear view mirror and sure enough, she was! We agreed to meet up once we got to Columbia so it was a welcome surprise after a stressful day. Now, what are the odds that we are both in the city on the same day in the same place at the same time and that she spotted me in all that traffic!! I don't drive an unusual car, I have a white mini-van. I know I shouldn't have been talking on the phone while driving but we had a fast conversation.
I'm supposed to go back tomorrow but think I'll call and reschedule, the weather report this morning says rain/snow overnight. It's hard enough facing that traffic up there in good weather I sure don't want to drive up in snow showers. All my stomach issues have started me on a round of doing a lot of tests that I have neglected for years so I'm having what I'm calling a 100,000 mile check up.

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

Sue hang on for newest storm! And Rede, glad to see you are going in for the 100,000 mile checkup! I have made a vow to do that for this carcass when it gets back to the north country this summer!

Discovery is making its final landing this morning, and will pass over our area on its way home. They will have a live broadcast of it on my TV, beginning at about 10:00, with the landing scheduled for almost noon. It is sort of sad, but what an amazing life that ship has had over the years. I would like to see a synposis (or whatever you might call it) of its life's adventures and everything it accomplished in space. People are camped (packed in like sardines, actually) at Jetty Park near Canaveral to witness this historical event. May its final landing be smooth and flawless. I would love to hear its final sonic boom, if possible, so I have all my doors and windows open. Space travel was but a dream when I read the book titled "Rocket Jockey" back when I was an avid reader in grade school. It boggles my mind when I realize how far we humans have come in just my lifetime. I am still in awe when I see huge jets flying overhead----it just doesn't seem within the realm of possibility that such a huge vehicle can lift off and stay aloft as it makes it way across the skies. I understand the difference in air pressure and the shape of its wings (which seem way too teensy to me in comparison with the size of the rest of it) and the physics of flight, and all-----but......my mind can't fathom the phenomenon!

Molly and I will take a woodsy walk this afternoon after Discovery lands, and I'll bring my camera today to take some shots of the wildlife so close to where I live. By the way, Liz, and Birdie------I asked Weldon about those fish 'nests' along the banks of the canal, and he said that both bass and tilapia make them, but that the ones closest to shore are probably tilapia. He said the bass prefer the colder, deeper water out a way. They scurry out of their depressions as fast as I approach, but, if I sit down and wait patiently, they return soon, and I am thinking I might be able to get a good picture of them.

Coffee is tasting good after clearing out the cobwebs in my brain left over from last night's "mug-o-wine"! Stop in and tell us what's going on in your neck of the woods.

Good morning!

Can't wait to see what the day holds.... everyday has its own unique changes to our lifestyle. It's spring break for the local college, so I'm not teaching yoga for my college kids this week. While I thoroughly enjoy them, its sort of nice having the time deposited back into my schedule this week. The house is relatively clean (no white gloves, please) and dinners are prepared for the rest of the week. Hubby is not working too much, so he is extra hands at home and at the health club. so nice!

We are hoping to hear some news on our buyer for the health club today, but regardless, we WILL announce our impending closure to our members tomorrow. THAT will shake things up.

I'm not certain how today will go... but I'm confident it will go pleasantly :D

I don't think we are expecting any drastic weather here - hope you all get through the day warm and dry.

Good Morning all from Guadalajara, Jalisco, MX - another cool night up here at 5300 feet. I was going to get out the little electric heater and forgot so And by this afternoon it will be very warm out and the a/c will be on. Back home there are flood warnings - our house sitter says all is okay with the roof though - guess it finally got fixed for good last summer. but I see it is supposed to start snow there again tomorrow.....guess I can put up with a little cool mornings.
Yesterday we drove into the main part of Guadalajara and visited the central market for a bit - I wanted to get a couple of DVD movies, had lunch downtown and then found the tanneries The Driver was looking for. Thank goodness for the GPS - we have a Garmin Nuvi with Mexico maps and it is great. Sometimes even shows the one way arrows.
When we got back to the campground we found that a "Big Red Bus" had pulled in - they are German tour busses and very interesting. Here is a neat article on them.http://www.pbase.com/ravenoaks/travelingtherotel_way Don't know if I could travel like that.
Today we'll probably end up going to Tonala then to Ajijic tomorrow to see my cousin. But we'll see. Will try to updat blog about yesterday later - to lazy to do it last night.
All you in the north - hang in there the weather has to change for the good soon doesn't it? Careful driving in the rain if you have to.

Good morning everyone!

It's another chilly day in MD and the skies are overcast. We have heavy rains moving in later tonight into tomorrow. Up to 2 - 3 " of rain is called for so it's going to be soggy here. At least it's not snow or ice.

My father finally made it into a room at the hospital last night 9:00, 11-1/2 hours after he got to the hospital. I called the nurses station for an update and the nurse told me the doctor has been in to see him this morning and that he wants to continue him on IV's for another day. So it sounds like he won't have to have surgery again, which is good. Hubby is on his way in to pick up my mother and they'll spend the day at the hospital.

Take care everyone and have a good day.

I saw one of those buses going down the highway in Scotland a couple of years ago, but never saw them opened up. I could tell it was full of bunks of some sort. Very interesting.

Rain in lower Michigan, but no snow or freezing rain.

Good morning...er, afternoon, everyone.

My eye appt. yesterday went well. Eye bleed from last time has healed nicely....just keep the blood pressure down, she says. She thinks the bleed may have happened during the stent procedure last summer.

Roe' s vet appt. today went well too, and he's good to go with a new nail trim as well. My bank account is greatly depleted however after purchasing a year's supply of heartworm, flea & tick meds for both animals. Ouch!

Sorry for all the rain & cold you folks north of here are getting. We're expecting some rain tomorrow, but I'm enjoying sunny 70s right now.

I missed the Discovery landing this morning...didn't even hear the sonic boom, as I usually do. Hope you got to see/hear it, Soos.

Good luck on a buyer for the Health Club, Kim.

Really enjoying your adventures, Carol. Maybe one day...

Irmi, I'm glad your father won't need more surgery. I pray the rest of his recovery goes smoothly.

I'm off to McIntosh to the church to hook up the computer & printer so bulletins can be printed there. Have been invited to a friend's for dinner before Bible study tonight. I'll go by Sportsman's Cove and make a reservation in the RV park for the month of April. Hope they have a site on the canal that leads to Orange Lake, so it'll be easy to put my kayak in/out.

May your day be one for sharing: "Shared joy is double joy; Shared sorrow is half a sorrow." (Swedish Proverb)
