MONDAY IN THE SUN

Hi All.

A company is coming here today to give me an estimate on what replacing this AC/Heat unit and duct system would cost. I will get estimates from 3 or 4 companies, and decide which one to go with. The present one, although working like a charm right now, is about 30 years old, not very efficient economically (although very comfortable living) and who knows how many more months it might have to keep on chugging along. I really haven't needed more than a few days of heat from it all winter long down here, and don't need AC at all.

Other than that, I am looking forward to meeting with several ladies tomorrow afternoon and then heading off to the Boston Lobster Feast for as many lobsters as I can put away!

I would also like to get my nephew here for a look at this house before he goes back on Thursday.

Another sunny day here is really spoiling me, but how nice to be spoiled! Coffee is hot, so stop in for a while.

Good Morning Sistahs,

Made a post and saw that Soos had gotten hers in before I finished mine, so deleted and reposted here. And how is everybody this morning. Hope you all had a good night's sleep and are bright eyed and bushy tailed this mornng.

Cloudy and breezy here at the 45th this morning. The big winter storm just brushed this area last night. We probably have about an inch of snow out there. Not enough to drag the blower out over. I will go out and run a shovel over the deck later on and maybe the little blower over the apron to my garage and maybe not. The blacktop on my drive is absorbing heat from the sun now and what's out there will melt off eventually. this time of year the light snows kind of disappear on their own. Winter is slowly sliding downhill. Usually if we can get past the Ides of March (15th), we are all set for the most part. But March can be tricky. Just when you think you have seen the last of the snows or the ground is all bare, bang along comes another big dump .

But it is not boding good for those businesses here who rely on the snowmobilers for their winter income. My friends who own the bed and breakfast motel where I help out sometimes, have had a rough winter this year. It's the nature of the business, but it has been two rough years in a row right now. Winter is their busiest money mking season.

I've been going over figures to see how much it's going to cost to head out west next summer and down south this next winter for awhile. Darn gas prices can sure put a crimp in one's plans. But I will keep figuring and setting money aside and go from there. Trip out west may have to wait till I sell the house. We shall see. Or scale back just a bit as I really want to see the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone and don't need to take an about way out and back. Got time to look at maps and do more figuring. And I am figuring high. Estimating my figures at higher gas prices etc. which may or not materialize. But it's better to go over than under.

So I guess it's time to get the vacum out and get that done, pickup the house a bit and then go work on my campsite sign. It's almost done, but I need a little chair to stick on by the campfire. Just a small one. Gonna look on the web and see if I can lift one off of somethng and maybe downsize it to the size I need in my photo program. I've been using a combination of paints, vinyl letters and even some cutouts from paper to decorate the thing and when it's all done, will apply a few coats of poly to keep it all on there and to protect it. Taking pictures as I go along.

Have a nice day all

Good morning! Birdie and I are getting ready to head out later this morning for some fun in the Monday sun at Wekiwa Springs State Park. I may get a call to return home & sign some papers on the house sale, but it's all good. Looking forward to the gtg at your house & Lobsterfest, Soos.

Next week, if I don't have to be home packing yet, we plan to go to Blue Cypress Lake & check out the ospreys, do some kayaking, etc.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning Soos, Sue, Liz and everyone that follows!

It's a dreary looking morning here on the eastern shore. Temperatures are mild, in the mid 40's, but temperatures are going to drop throughout the day. We have rain moving in later this afternoon and as temperatures continue to drop, the rain will change over to sleet, freezing rain and snow. Depending on which radio or TV station you listen to, we could get anything from and inch to 4" of snow. I guess I'll see in the morning when I get up what, if anything, that we got.

Today is the day I meet with the accountant to give him the paperwork and figures from the past year. I don't know why these appointments always make me so nervous, but they do. I'll be glad when it's over. It usually takes a few days to a week before I get the final figures back from him to see how we fared.

I hope everyone has a good day, wherever you are and whatever you're doing.

Morning all, and Liz and Birdie - look forward to seeing you both at Blue Cypress! I'm hitting the road again today, to another state park - Lake Manatee, for a few days.

Hope everyone has a good day.

No sun here. We got a direct hit on the storm that just touched Colliemom's area. Where I live, we got 7-8", which was a surprise because we expected maybe 2". My driveway and our condo road was plowed during the night, so I made it out and to work through a lot of snowy roads.

It has stopped right now, but we are supposed to get another couple of inches later this afternoon or evening, but at least the plows and salt trucks will have a chance to keep up.

So very, very quiet office this morning with only about 25% of people here.

good morning ladies :D
am well rested, slept in and now I'm ready for the day to begin. The sun is shining
but I haven't seen or heard the weather report but I expect its gonna be a nice day.
Will do a little work outside, perhaps the fence and backyard but definitely have to
survey the hotwater closet out next to the backdoor. Son got a washing machine
yesterday (and dryer) for $30 and the hookup is in that closet. Need to see how much
junk he needs to move out of the way to get it in there.
Time for another cup of coffee and thinking of a bowl of oatmeal, although I'm not
hungry at the moment, I will be in a couple hours. Enjoy your day and be safe.

Alright you Floridians! Stop rubbing it in! But is does give the rest of us hope for warmer days.
Here in the PNW? Calling for snow starting on Tues/Wed/Thur! Just a couple inches for us in the valley, which I hope will melt quickly.

Nothing planned for today, dentist appt tomorrow. ;)

Just saw on the news that they are in the process of building a floating condo village, 545 apartments, golf course on the roof, medical center. Looks like it will be on the Mississippi River, stay south for the winter and then slowly float north for the summers.

Have a good one!

Lenora, I haven't seen this...What an awesome concept..no doubt will be very high dollar living...I can see the golf ball manufacturers now, increasing their production. The divers will probably retrieve them like they do everywhere else. When I went with my ex to the golf course, I spent my time looking for balls, found some good ones too. For this reason, he would ask me to go occasionally

Well, it's past noon but I thought I'd pop in & say hello and that I've made it safely home. Trailer is unpacked and put away until next weekend's trip to Tucalota Springs. It was an uneventful drive home without much traffic and a neighbor graciously agreed to help me back into my storage spot.

I've decided that I need to get out in my little Hideout more. I seem to forget just how much I enjoy it until I'm actually sitting in it after a long day. I'm going to find some fun places to go over my spring break and then begin to seriously think about what I'd like to do this summer. While I enjoyed my trip last summer it wasn't long enough and I'd really like to see the Pacific Northwest some more. It's sooooo pretty up there and the weather's just my style.

I'm going to stretch out for a nap & then have to head out for a 4:15 eye doctor appointment -- my annual thing. And then it's gearing up for school tomorrow and looking forward to next weekend. :)

Has anyone tried McDonald's new oatmeal with fruit and brown sugar for breakfast??
It's REALLY good. I've had it twice - once with, and once without, the brown sugar.
(leaving it off saves 30 calories and 9 carbs).

What a great addition to their breakfast menu!!

It sure does look good! I have never liked oatmeal, but I am thinking I could like this! Micky D's is right down the road from me, and I can even ride my bike to it for breakfast!
