Super Bowl Sunday Morning...

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Super Bowl Sunday Morning...

Good Morning Ladies

It's a cold, but clear, Sunday morning here in Central VA. Not sure why I woke up so early since I didnt get to bed til 1:30 a.m. Was up so late (or early) looking through the VA state parks links. We have a large state park just about 10 miles from my house! It opens 1 March so I guess I'd better get Foo Foo's small problems fixed in the next few weeks so I can be sure to get out as soon as I can. I will be teaching the first two weeks of March, but I hope to take Foo Foo out for a couple of nights the first weekend thereafter. The first thing I have to figure out is how to get that pink stuff out of the lines and tanks. I am guessing that I simply hook up water to the rig and open all the facuets and let it run until it runs clear...is that right??? :?:

I have mixed emotions about the Super Bowl...I am ambivalent about who to pull for to win. I have split loyalties because I have friends from the Upper Midwest who are ardent Cheeseheads, and yet I have other friends who are pulling for the Steelers. I just hope it is a good game. And I'm looking forward to the half time show...heard the Black Eyed Peas' "Tonight's Gonna be a Good Night" and was singing in the car...very happy song! But the Super Bowl means the end of the NFL season!

Am planning on spending some time in Foo Foo today with the third cat...now that I have the proper extension for the power. Do you all use the surge protectors while you are plugged in at home? I'm guessing the power here at the house is pretty reliable since I've never seen an evidence to the contrary. I'm gonna plug it in to see how it works, but I don't think I really need it if I'm keeping the rig plugged directly into the house. What do ya think?

Well, the coffee is ready...and I need a cuppa. Didn't have coffee yesterday; had a mini physical for some life insurance. By the time the nurse left, it was time to head out to Costco so I had a coke instead. So the coffee will be extra good today!

Have a wonderful Sunday; I hope YOUR team wins big today and that the Puppy Bowl brings you a BIG smile! :D :D

Because of my years living in WI, since the Bears aren't in it, I pull for Green Bay. It's fun to take sides so that I can bicker with my friends :) My GB friends hated when I was all pro-Bears. Now my Steeler friends are all over me. hahaha

Overcast this morning with a few sprinkles. I'm going to wait till later to see if I can get another kayak trip in - will be packing it up later for my leaving here tomorrow. Looking forward to the places I'm headed, and looking forward to returning here. What a wonderful spot.

If I do good today, will get the blog caught up on this trip (might be forever before I backtrack to get KY caught up - )

Have a great day all!

Good Mornng Beth, LI and everyone else

Cloudy mornng here at the 45th. Temp is at 32 though. This is the warmest low temp we have had in quite some time. Yesterday was beautiful. It was fairly sunny but the temp hit 38 here. Now I know that sounds funny to those of you who live in the south, but for those of us in the north, that's a heat wave for us. After having our bodies adjust to 20 degree weather for so long, upper 30's makes you want to shed the heavy jackets. It's actually the sun. The warmth it radiates is what does it.

The open road called to me yesterday, so I loaded up the girls and we headed north to Mackinaw City. It's at the tip of the mitt, about 75 miles from here. Just felt so good to get out on the road and drive. They are out of the snowbelt areas up there and don't have much snow. In fact, they actually have some wind swept bare ground along the shoreline of the straits. The girls and I were able to walk along the beach on what snow there was and sometimes bare ground and sidewalk. They enjoyed that. Lots of sniffing around the trees and other spots. Can't do that here. It's our favorite park there. Right by the Mackinac Bridge and on the Straits of Mackinac.
It's actually the Fort Michilimackinac Historic State Park, part of the Mackinac State Historic Parks. I will tell you about that sometime later on.

So I took a break at Burger KIng and then drove home along the old highway, following the lake shore and then inland to home. Was a great day. When I got back here, the sun was shining and it was 38 degrees. So I took a little time to enjoy outdoors. Cleaned the "gunk" from the truck off my garage floor (salt/sand etc) and then actually gave my truck a bath. Probably the cleanest it has been all winter. Course it won't stay that way. Then the girls and I did a short walk up my road and back. Even the road is showing some bare road. Get the impression I am getting spring fever?

We are heading back into the deep freeze middle of this week, but it is to be short lived. Will be experiencing some lake effect snows as well. But forecasters are saying that after the 13th, there are signs of a significant warm up coming. I can handle that. I'm already dreaming of hauling the TT out. Might just head south next month for a bit depending on how it goes. You foiks south of me in IN, OH, IL have more snow then I do here at the moment. Northern MIchigan has been just about sitting out all the storms this winter. We are currently 26 inches below our normal average for this time of the winter.

Li, you got me thinking about VA. I have only seen the area along the edge of the Blue Ridge and it might be a neat place to come explore. Will have to do some looking at the State Parks lisiting and also places to come see. I know there are a number of war reenactments taking place too and VA isn't that far from home for me either.

As to getting out the pink stuff, I am wondering the same thing. RV Net is a great source of info and there are some great sources of info from the ladies on this site too. So somebody will give us the heads up. I'm considering having my dealer do mine on the grounds that they can check my TT over before my warrenty expires, just to make sure all is in order. Didn't have any problems last year, but never know.

Well, going to go wash hair and get this day going. No call from the motel this week, so I know they don't need me. Looks like they weren't all that busy this weekend. The big storm impacted a lot of areas and has probably kept forlks from heaidng norht. They have more snow than we do.

Good morning all! It's a beautiful day here today, with temps heading toward the 80s. After my day of chocolate-induced debauchery yesterday I'm sticking close to home to get all those ever-present chores done. I'm about out of chonies  so laundry needs to be done for sure. And I've got a neighbor coming over to help install a new automatic sprinkler system timer. My old one is hard-wired in and the new ones plug in, so he's got to add a GFI receptacle where the old one's installed. I could probably figure it out, but would rather bake cookies for someone who knows what he's really doing.

Li, I don't know which direction your teaching location is from the state park, but have you considered trying to work from Foo-Foo? It might be a nice little experiment, especially since everything might be so close & you can regroup if you need to. I don't know how to de-winterize as we don't have to do that in the SW part of the Left Coast. :) And what are the "small problems" you're referring to? Have I missed something?

After all of the chocolate I ate at the Festival yesterday absolutely nothing sweet sounds remotely good. Not sure what I'm going to have for breakfast, but a pizza sure sounds good for later in the day. Haven't had one in ages. Guess I'll get myself in gear shortly and enjoy this gorgeous day.

Have a great one, everyone. And if you're watching the football game (I'll have it on, but won't be glued to it), enjoy it!

Good morning from misty Rotunda West, FL (near Venice). This eagle landed on my brother's neighbor's roof yesterday with an opossum. He slowly devoured his "catch," giving me time for photos. I suspect the opossum was roadkill, but not sure.

My dd and family came for the day too, so I was able to take the gks out on the canal for some kayaking lessons. Today we'll have a little Super Bowl gtg with niece & family, bro. & sil. Then back on the road tomorrow with an overnight visit with Zee on the way. Home again Tuesday.

Misty day today, but that's ok...highs in the 70s just the same. Hope it's warming up for all the others.

Good Morning... it is a bit rainy today but is suppose to clear up and be sun and clouds this afternoon and 61 had to put the one in as it is cooler now... looks like Tuesday it will break and be better...
I have not followed any sports since I have been alone... we used to watch when my husband was alive but alone it is not as fun... maybe that is why so many have super bowl parties...
I got Netflix for the computer yesterday on a trial month... will know by then if I want to spend the $10 or not...
I am glad you found that place Beth... from the looks of it it is perfect!

Morning,
Drizzly day yesterday but temps are reasonable so I'm not complaining.
I spent the AM watching my youngest (9) GD's basketball game (which my DD coaches). They won 15-13. GD made one basket.
At the same time my middle GD (10, 11 next month) was playing in a tourney. My SIL was with her and he was texting the games to me.
Anyway, they won the tourney! My GD is the one in the center bottom holding the bottom of the trophy!

Image

After the game I came home and did some leg work on my X's estate. Always something needing my attention there. ;)

Today I plan on vegging and watching the Super Bowl. Well, sort of watching. I'm not a big football fan, but the Super Bowl is a USA tradition.

Enjoyed the eagle pics, Liz. How cool was that to catch?!

Everyone stay safe. Watch out for those Super Bowl drunks on the highways.

Good Morning to All - well another late getting up morning for me after following another late getting to sleep night.
The sun is out and the birds are making lots of noise - a couple of them sound like they are upset with each other.
We went to La Noria again yesterday to pick up stain for leather for The Driver. Stopped at the Zip Lining place and found out about it. Soon. Then went to Centro Historico for lunch. Met a couple from Phoenix there and took them for a ride around town - I have to mention that The Driver drives like a Mexican - that is to say an E ride at Disneyland - I'm getting used to it but....We had fun sharing the sights around here though. Maybe they'll go with us to a couple of little towns inland next week - They've never been here before and speak no Spanish. They are staying in a hotel right across the street from the RV park.
Again too cold last night to sit around outside at the plaza. But are going to tonight regardless. Meeting a friend from here for the evening.
Posted an update on my blog about the Art Walk - in fact two updates yesterday. Getting to be like a job. But once I get behind it is too hard to catch up. Right Beth? Also changing the blog format a little bit - adding pages (just one so far and its not done) and followers to it.
Hope you all manage to enjoy your "heat wave" - and that the next freeze isn't quite as bad as the rest of the winter has been.
NFL season will be ending and NASCAR season will be soon begining - that's my favorite - love the sights sounds and personalitites.
Good shot of the eagle - wow they are magnificent.
So bye for now - drive safe and enjoy the SSB parties.

good morning ladies,
its seems late as I've been up for several hours, coffee'd out and rearranging my
space. Finally got my little tv hooked up and don't have to use sons. I prefer my
own as it has a simple sleep set and remote. Course rearranging meant unhooking
the computer and getting that stuff hooked back up in the new spot. Finally getting
a little more organized in here and there is more room for the girls to roam around
while I'm gone. (not that they would, they'd probably sleep the whole time)
Yesterday was a very slow day at the airport, not much traffic at all. Hope for a
better day today.
About time to get dressed and get my butt to the grocery store. You all have a great
day, and be safe.
oh yea, Liz, what an awesome picture to get!!!

Morning! That is really an awesome picture Liz! Lenore..your granddaugher's team looks like they were happy campers after their win! It's 27 here with 50% change of snow, then we're suppose to get another Arctic blast in the single digets and below for 3-4 days. What else is new? Guess I just have to pull up my big girl (literally) long johns and cowgirl up. Other than weather nothing is new around here. BYW Laura...I could have done just fine without your subtle dig that you don't have to winterize your camper! ;)

Today we'll head down to the local waterin' hole for the SB/artery clogging party. Usually a fun time with people of all ages, think the Steelers fans are going to be the minority. Yesterday Jim came and picked up one of DHs many smokers and is doing a couple briskets. He called with some questions a little while ago...DH left to go "help". I made my crabbies last night and in the process of making deviled eggs, so that's going to be my contribution to the spread. I did see a recipe for buffalo meatballs on rv.net I thought about trying them but that's about as far as it went! Maybe next time we have a pot luck....someone is sure to have a milestone birthday sometime soon that we'll all get together to celebrate.

Have a good day everyone.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Its afternoon but I'm being lazy today....even with morning coffee.

Kathleen - I love netflix! I use it at home, the beach house, and in the rv instead of cable/satellite, etc. I watch it on my tv via wireless network. They are a lot of devices that allow for netflix tv streaming these days (playstation, xbox, wii, net ready players). My device of choice is the roku box (www.roku.com) - it has other channels in addition to the netflix channel but if I was in the market for a blu-ray player.. I'd snag one that was wifi/net enabled.

I didn't get out of Silver River without needing more repairs. Drove straight to the rv repair shop. My brand new inverter is failing. When I left Ocala, it was thought that perhaps the reset had been triggered... and there was nothing to worry about. By the time I got to Interstate 10 - the inverter was shutting itself off... and my batteries weren't getting charged. I will be returning in May.. for follow up. I had really hoped that I had seen the end of my long years of repairs on top of repairs.

Liz - fantastic pic! A real Kodak moment.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Yep it's still morning here. I have one minute left. Would have had more time but got sidetracked reading posts! Temp here for the past few days has been in the 50's so I'm not complaining. Monday is suppose to be nice too but come Tuesday it's suppose to go back down into the low to mid 40's. I'm so ready for spring!!!

Nothing exciting going on here. Got to do dishes and some house cleaning. Kelly has got to go do laundry, I'm out of clean socks and I don't like to wear sneakers or shoes without socks!!

Brent was looking at my water heater yesterday after we got talking about it. The book I found here in the TT is not for the water heater that is in the trailer. So he wrote down the numbers and is gonna see what he can find out about it. ~sigh~ It would be so nice to have hot water back in the trailer. If only so that I don't have to heat water up in the micro to do dishes!!! LOL

Ok, gonna get out of the coffee post and on to reading others and catching up. Hope everyone has a glorious day and does so safely!!!

Love to all

Good Afternoon... just wanted to come in again and say I went to a tiny Baptist church this morning... I rode my trike there just outside of the rv park!! there were 6, 7 counting me there... it was a black congregation... they made me feel so welcome... seemed to be no order of service but it was interesting... two hours later it was over... what a great experience it was... they will meet again at 3 but will not go... if I am here and no other place to go will go there on a Sunday... Liz usually picks me up so want to go with her when I can...
