Good Morning everyone,
Cold here at the 45th on this Monday morning. Temps is around 10 degrees, wind chill -2. Snow heading in for later today and tonight. Then lake effect snow for tomorrow. So winter has decided to quit being wimpy for awhile here. But then, these next two weeks are our coldest of the winter season, so it's normal.
Just finished a breakfast of scrambled eggs mixed with sausage crumbles and shredded cheddar cheese, topped off by a bowl of strawberries. Now I am having my glass of water. No coffee drinker here. But if anyone wants some I can always whip up a pot. Or a nice cup of Hot Cocoa with whipped cream
Will venture out into the frozen north in awhile here, after I get my dishes done, bed made, clothes changed etc. My truck's tire pressure monitor is indicating I have low tire pressure in one of my tires, so am heading for the dealer's to have that checked out and GM also has a recall on some Silverado pickups, so want to see if mine is included. May make a stop at the bank and then over to Hobby Lobby to pick up a sheet or two of scrapbook pages as I want to make a transfer onto one of them of a Michigan state map. I need to clear snow from my neighbors drive, but will probably wait till this next dump of snow goes by and then do it. I did mine on Saturday afternoon and my nice neighbor who was out plowing his drive, also cleared the upper part of mine and around my mailbox for me.
So I am off to start my day. Have a nice day all. Those of you who are on the road, be safe.

Good Morning Ladies
A Monday holiday and Barbie's Birthday too! What a great day...
It's gonna be a quiet one for me...the heater guys are coming by after 0900 to see why my heating bill was $300+ last year. Either the thermostat is a mess or the heating system is still screwed up. Luckily it's not my house and the landlord has a full-house insurance policy in case a replacement is due. I think it's the heating system myself, but guess the heater guys will figure it out.
Have to change bed sheets and do a load of wash. But that's all that's on the pre-planned agenda. May work on finding some docs for the taxes...
Oh, and I have to get a check in the mail to Mitch. A bet is a bet...and she bet on the winning team.
Have a wonderful day today...and for those of you traveling south, be safe...weather is lookin' a little unstable...

GOOD MORNING SUE, Li, AND ALL!
I had a great sleep last night, and I feel like a new person this morning! My sinuses have cleared up a lot----no more nasty pressure headache, my throat is no longer sore, my chest is not feeling as if an elephant is standing on it (as it felt yesterday at this time!) and, all in all, I am congratulating my body for a battle well fought! Those pirates can't keep a north country girl down for long!
I see that it is -26 deg. F. at home this morning-----negative 26 is rather cold, and I am hoping that my daughter and Joe are still there to keep that woodstove going for most of the day.
I checked in on Lily the black bear and her yearling cub, Hope, this morning at the live web cam to see if Lily is in labor yet, and it seems as if she isn't, yet. However, there are signs that the birth will be sometime this week. We are all holding our breath to see what will happen to Hope, who continues to suckle on Lily very frequently, when those new cubs, or cub, are born. Nobody has ever been privy to see what goes on in a wild bear's den when the mom has a live-in yearling along with new cubs. This only seems to happen when a lone cub doesn't suckle enough milk to keep the mom from coming into estrus before the usual two years are up. I really hope Lily makes Hope allow those new babies first dibs on the milk supply, as they will need that first rich colostrum milk, and they will need constant feeding. As Doc and his assistant, Sue, are saying, "We are learning together from our beloved Lily."
Today we are to get some significant rain here in Orlando, which would be wonderful, as long as we don't get nasty thunderstorms along with it. These water retention ponds and canals really need to get replenished.
I will probably stay at this house until either tomorrow afternoon or Wednesday morning when I will have to go back to St. Cloud and hitch up for the trek northward to the GTG. I will need my son to get me manoevered around enough to get out of his gate and fencing so I can take off Thursday at about noon, as check-in time is three o'clock, as I recall. I am really looking forward to this event! My payday is Wednesday, so I will be a busy girl on that day, gettiing some bills paid and some groceries for the festivities! I am getting the stuff I want to haul with me organized, lists made, and so on. I was hoping my tire sensor would be here for the trip, but so far, no luck. I had to return one as it did not seem to be functional. I still have three days for it to show up.
Coffee tastes really good this morning, and it's so nice to not be coughing up a storm! I hope you all have a fun day doing something that gives you a good feeling today. It was eight years ago that I was on the road coming back from Detroit with my new dog, Molly, who was rescued from the streets by the Detroit Animal Rescue League. What a good move that was on my part! She has been such a super friend to me, and I love her dearly.
Happy Monday! (I have no animosity about Mondays any more, now that I am not a commuter and working girl!)

oh good grief, my post disappeared!
ok, here we go again...
Good Morning Ladies,
I'm up at my regular time even though its a holiday, I have lots to do cause its
MOVING DAY!!!
Weatherguesser says its to hit 80 today so that means the chill will come off
early. Soon as Mr HP gets out the door to work, I'll get the laundry started and
get the stuff put in the car that goes over to the storage locker. Then another
load of laundry and load the car with stuff that goes to the new place. Should
have it all done by noon and will spend the afternoon setting up my new space.
Had a good steady passenger transport at the airport yesterday, so tips were
good. Although I made a big mistake by buying a corndog from the local QT
(gas station) for my dinner break, I suffered the rest of the night. Will not make
that mistake again.
Have a great day ladies, stay warm and stay safe, drive careful.

Soos: What's the back story on the bears? Is this on line? I have always loved watching bears in the wild. I remember, as a small girl, going up for weekends to Yosemite and going to the big dump where the bears--big and small--would go through looking for food. The dump was always on fire, and I was amazed at how the bears would still scratch through piles, smoking or not. If there is a link to the bears you mention, could you please post it? I'd like to take a look. (By the way, no bears were hurt in the making of my childhood fascination in Yosemite...and the dump was eventually closed down to be replaced by ever-more complicated, bear-proof cans--which the bears would quickly learn how to open! Smart critters!
Ava: I occasionally somehow delete my entire posting just before I hit the submit button. Somehow it all gets highlighted, and then it all disappears! AARGH!!!
Sounds like you have a good plan laid out to get to your new digs. Hope it all goes well and easily. Let us know that you've gotten settled when it's all done. And then take a deep soothing breath and say, "I'm home again, and I'm SAFE AND SOUND!!!!"

Good morning from balmy CA!
It's already in the 60s here, and forecasted to be in the upper 70s today - - not too shabby for January.
And it's looking like it'll continue through the week. Love it!
Yesterday was a wonderful day, doing everything that is enjoyable for Jed and me. We had time at the beach, where Jed got to run along the shoreline & play catch. Actually, he enjoys carrying his tennis ball more than running after it. But we had a nice walk and then headed over to an outdoor cafe where dogs are welcome and had a wonderful lunch. Then it was a delightful stroll around this great park where I discovered that my Labrador
Retriever is NOT a duck dog! He was far more interested in the poop the hundreds of ducks left behind than the animals themselves ... sigh! Not once did Jed show interest in all those waddling, quacking fowl, but I couldn't tear him away from the grass -- goof ball! We made it home and were in bed by 8:30 last night. Guess we were both tired pups!
Today will be catch-up day for the normal weekend chores that have been put on the back burner due to all of the fun we had this weekend. But at least the weather is delightful and when things are done I might just take myself outside in my newly cleaned up backyard and enjoy a cool drink and a good book.
I hope all of you have a wonderful day!
Laura -- and Jed

Good Morning from the rainy mild state of Florida... rained most of the night... poor Jere he decided to stay another day said he wanted to visit more but truth be known he wanted to watch foot ball...
now with the rain not sure what his plans are... think it would be good for him to find the trail he wants to walk and be ready for tomorrow... he has the north idea that the trails will be wet and soggy... I told him when it stops the ground is dry very fast here...
I truly need to be alone so I can clean my messy dirty place up... but have enjoyed having another person here for a week...
Soos so glad the cold is letting up... Sue won't be long and you can fix the tt and pack it like you want... you sure have a good idea about seeing if you like to tow the tt...
Everyone enjoy this free day...
Kathleen

..Flick, here's a link to the Bear Cam.
http://www.bear.org/livecams/lily-hope-cam.htmlAs to losing all of a highlighted post, try <CTRL Z> (which is UNDO). That should bring back the highlighted missing text.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!
Ahhhhhhh, coffee is extra good this morning along with the sunshine. Truth to be told, there's not much that's better than sitting outside in the sun with your best friend of the 4 legged varity, on a January morning with a hot cup of great coffee!!! Have been in and out the door with coffee in hand dog under foot more than a few times this morning. Shade is also enjoying the sunshine. She sniffs around for a few minutes and then stretches out on the concrete in the sunniest spot she can find. It is a rip to see her scratching and digging at the concrete to 'fluff' it up to make it comfy!!
Why do some dogs do that and others don't?? Never understood that.
Nothing much happening here. Have no idea if this state or area observes MLK day or not? I know the post office will but not sure of the bank or a few other places.
Kinda wondering? Talked to my BFF in NY yesterday. Her husband is a kinda a "fix it all", do it yourself guy. I should have asked him but? And I will probably talk to the neighbor here, but does anyone know if the thermocoupler in RV hot water tanks are the same as in regular hot water tanks??? Could I pick one up at the lumber store??? As that is what BFF's hubby Gene said is probably wrong with my hot water heater. Had the two of them in stitches yesterday with my various exploits and experiences at living in the TT full time!!! They both thought it very humorous at me thawing the sewer pipe w/a hairdryer on T-day! And thought it very funny that Kelly is not a big fan of dumping the black tank!! Told Gene that he needs to come visit me and I would put his butt to work. He informed me that he was retiring!!! Told my son the same thing too!!! He said he is hoping to be able to come out for a short visit sometime this summer!! YAY!!
OK, time to quit and get this posted so I can catch up with the other postings. Hope everyone has a super fantastic day, be safe. And for those on the road to the GTG??? Be extra careful and be sure to take LOTS of pictures. Sure do envy ya'll!!!
Love to all
ps. Lotus, Kelly says she has felt your ? cringe with the black tank!!

Not morning anymore but what the hay. It's 27*....if that thermometer goes up 5 more degree and it gets above freezing I just may put on the screen windows and air out the house!
I've spent the morning putzing around and now must really get busy and accomplish something. I refuse to get out of bed until 8 when I have a day off even if I lay there reading or watching tv....just because I can!
Have a great day.

Good morning everyone. I don't normally post here but wanted to today. My daughter & her family who live in Southern California arrived yesterday in Australia. My Granddaughter is an exchange student this year & will attend school there from Jan. 24th to April 24th. The whole family made the trip & DD, SIL & GS will stay for 10 days or so & then return home. GD will be staying with my daughter's best life long friend (who now resides in Australia.) It all sounds pretty exciting to me except of course the flight over there. They left from L.A., stopped in Hawaii, then Guam & then to Australia. Took more hours than I could handle but they survived, just rather tired. Anyhow, my SIL had suggested some months ago that I should download SKYPE & he sent me a LifeCam, which I never installed, so that we could have video calls, etc. I did download SKYPE but never used it. Yesterday however, SIL kind of guided me by regular phone, to open SKYPE & somehow I was able to see & hear him. He then told me to install the camera thingy, which I did, but all it did was lock up my computer. I do not have a new desktop, mine is about 7 yrs. old or so, but I love it. Can't say much about my older Dell laptop, it's about 5 yrs. old & I have always hated it, but it serves it's purpose when on the road. Anyhow, ended up 'removing' the software that came with the camera SIL sent, & my daughter borrowed me her camera that I installed easily. I will test it with a friend of mine that lives in NV later today, to make sure it works. Anyhow, as this has the option of being a 'free' program or a inexpensive pay for useage program, I am using the free one. Does anyone else use this resource?? If so, any suggestions on what kind of camera to use? It's all totally new to me, but let me tell you, I was astonished at being able to see & hear my son in law last night....for free !!! Any information regarding the above would be so very much appreciated....thank you for your patience in this longggg post...but I'm anxious for input.

My computer now has the camera built in. Before that I had one of the inexpensive logitech webcams. They all work pretty good. Many people use Skype and love it. For an instance like you are in - it's a great resource, and the free version is all you need.
Echo, SOME rv water heaters (usually quite older ones) have thermocouplers. Most modern ones are electronic. So you need to know if yours has one first, and then find out the size - they aren't all the same. I suggest getting the brand and model # and checking with the manufacturer. There was no thermocoupler involved in getting mine working again when it died on gas.

Vickie, me, Flick, and Laura Skyped once or twice. It worked fine, except for Vickie - locked up her con-fuser. She thinks (and I concur) that she has a camera issue. For the rest of us, it worked fine, once you get used to the slight delay. Then Vickie and I Skyped voice only several times. We're now tired of each other.
