Good morning to All - It is another beautiful day here - Where is this month going so fast - already the 12th - thank goodness for this forum its the only way I manage to keep track of time.
More snow at home in Indiana - and this was the winter I wanted to stay home - The Driver makes sure I know how cold and snowy it is there.
He felt a little better yesterday morning so we took a quick trip to El Quelite - it was 85 degrees up there - only 74 here at the ocean. But by the time we got home his "get up and go" had got up and left. I'll do a posting on my blog later about El Quelite - some of you probably remember it from last year (think iguana poop). Really like it there and have made friends with a lot of the townsfolk there.
Don't know what we'll do today but need to get out of here for a little while at least. Hopefully by next week!!!! we'll both be back to full steam ahead.
Every one take care and stay warm.

Where is everyone this morning!? Hope Carol and Sarah are ok and didn't loose power. It's cold and cloudy here but I'm headed out to lunch with friends so hopefully that will cheer the day. Only thing is, we are going to a Thai Restaurant and I can hardly bear the smell of Thai food but I'm trying not to be a pick so will go and have dessert, I hope they have desserts!! My stomach is still bad and there isn't much I feel like eating except dessert, no wonder I haven't lost any weight. I have been to the doctor and I finally am taking the medicine they recommended but so far, not much improvement. The part that is sooooo annoying is coffee really bothers me but I'm so spaced without a little I have some. Otherwise I'm a danger behind the wheel when my caffeine level gets too low!
I hope this weather gives us all a reprieve soon! Glad to hear the Driver is a little better Carol.

Really bbrrrr here in the central Texas hill country. Here at 10:45 it is only 35 with the "Window Chili Factory" (wind chill) down in the low 20s. Will be warmer tomorrow and I sure hope it does what it says. I am getting my routes on the GPS so that I will be ready when I pull out Friday morning. Taking it mostly slow and easy to Florida. Just need to figure out one more stop between Mobile and Ocala. It is a do I go along the coast, or do I go south out of Tallahasee, or go to I-75 and south. Have calculated a couple of routes but they have me driving nearly 400 miles between cg's. That is about 8 hours of driving and just more than I want to go. So calculating some more this morning, then this afternoon I will start breaking down and packing away stuff. Tomorrow I go pick up my mail and go by the Credit Union to get some papers signed.
Watching the birds out the window having black-crested titmouses, carolina chickadees, chipping sparrows, house sparrows, mourning doves, house and american goldfinches, northern cardinal, carolina wrens.
I'll take some of the sunshine your are sending Carol as this freezer is not my cup of tea or coffee. Speaking of which time for the 2nd cup and this one will be chocolate truffle.
Martha, I will pick you up on my way thru LA. Just have your suitcase packed......Oh, and BJ you can fly down to New Orleans and I'll pick you up there. Have to be there Sunday.
All stay warm, dry and safe.

..Have a safe trip, Birdie!
And when you stop at Vickie's, just watch what you're eating...
A few glasses of wine should help kill the taste, and well, anything else that may still be alive...
Just sayin'.

Well, Mitch you just need to hook up the TT and get down here/there then you could do the honors for all of us. Bet Vickie would let you in the kitchen. She probably been wanting a full-time cook!
I am looking forward to visiting with her and Ronnie. Also will be spending a little time with Martha and Carolyn. May have to kidnap Martha and drag her to FL. She would like the crazy ladies down there. Can't kidnap Carolyn as she is 'working'.
You should have made it on down. We could have hooked up your satellite to my TV and installed George in here and turned on the electric heaters and made sure that furnace would come on when/if it got too cold. Then he would have been a happy camper.

Dang - lost my post lol - by my own error.
Birdie, why not just decide where to stay on route, instead of feeling you need reservations? You might just change your route as you go! And then you aren't forced to stop if you want to go further - or worse, forced to go on when you don't want to! There are certainly more than enough cg's on the route you're taking.
Cooler here in Tampa today and tomorrow, also. Peaches and I did some great hiking yesterday and this afternoon I'll put on a heavier jacket and we'll go out again. Tomorrow I'm going to the Tampa RV show. Friday will head across to the ocean side of the state to visit an old friend for a day or two or however many

Well, seems like lucky is NOT my middle name
Flight cancelled again. This time-no plane. The one suppose to be here couldn't make it from Greensboro. So, am giving it another shot tomorrow and am changing all plans. The trip to Raleigh will be thru the 22nd and then AZ will be rescheduled in Feb. JUST in case I need to be available again. So, no Quartzite this year
I might even be around to make a day in Ocala, but probably not on Tuesday. However, since all my plans seem to be in an extremely soft jello, I'm not counting on anything. I am lucky that if I have to be "stranded" it's at least at my own place in good weather
Hope everyone is having a good day. carold

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!
Boy is the sun shining it's heart outside today!!! Temp is only suppose to be mid 30's but I think something or someone is full of "bull puckie". It sure feels warmer than that outside!
I'm loving it! With the sun shine out there and the temp, we will be hitting the shower rooms today! Which is really a good thing as I'm feeling like a greaseball! Bird baths are OK? But nothing like all over shower clean! Will probably smell better in here too!
Well rent is paid for another month! YAY! This not having a job is a bummer. Grrrrrr to small towns where the 'Mormons' are given preference for jobs. I had heard of that before but have been told this recently too. And now see it in action. Have another guy here in town that we worked with at the lodge. He hasn't found a job either. ~sigh~
Of course nothing exciting is going on here. Played with the hot water heater yesterday, no luck! Still no hot water. What a pain in the patoot! Will just have to put up with being without until we can afford to have someone look at the blasted thing. grrrrr some more!
OK, gonna go read and catch up on ya'll. Hope everyone has a good day, make sure to stay safe. And HOPE everyone who was caught in that big snow storm is alright and staying warm.
Love to all

Thanks for sending some sunshine; unfortunately it came without the warmth - our high for today is only mid 20s. Just seeing the sun is encouraging.
This is the third largest snow fall ever recorded here but is looking as if it will set a record for how long it stays around.
We've been lucky that there have been relatively few power outages around town. Big concern for next 48 hours or so will be water supply as this Artic blast continues and many pipes not buried deep enough to with stand prolonged extreme cold. Lows are in single digits to low teens with highs thru Friday not reaching the freezing mark. Weekend forecast will warm up and rain is expected.
Most things are still closed but a few businesses are reopening this afternoon and more hope to open tomorrow. Schools are still closed. There are no snow plows here so what road clearing that is underway is being done with road graders and sand. News is showing more traffic moving in lower elevations but warning that conditions are still very hazardous. City will not try to clear side streets or hill sides not on major roadways so those of us who live in such areas are being advised to stay put and wait for mother nature to melt the snow/ice over the weekend. Mail and garbage service will resume for some in lower elevations today, not for me however. Fine by me as I don't think I could get to the street from house anyway. There are many things I was not smart enough to consider about hillside living when I bought this place so lots of lessons learned the hard way. Still no serious complaints most of the time, however.
I've accomplished very little over past few days but this afternoon has more promise. Like Birdie and Tina, I need to be figuring out details for getting to FL gtg and that includes what must be finished before I can head out.
Stay safe, warm and dry!

It was suppose to be in the mid 20's here last night but the lowest I saw was 29. It's suppose to be colder tonight. About 10:00 last night I noticed our light were dim and my computer kept going off and about 10:20 no power. I'm thinking, that's great it's suppose to freeze and the power goes off. There are some oil supply companies near us and there were no light over there so knew it was all over. It only lasted about 45 minutes. I have never done a complete winterize on my motorhome. When a freeze is predicted I put some pink stuff in my holding tanks and some in the drain traps and run the heat. I was hoping I wouldn't have to go run the generator so I could run the heater.
Birdie, a trip to Florida is so tempting. I am just getting more and more reluctant to leave. My DH will cook for himself but he has no patience and starts things on high. The other day he put a pot of beans on the stove to heat and went off to the barn. It's a good thing I came through when I did or it would have been a mess. He does things like spill things on the stove and not clean it up and cook again and burn it into the stove or lay a loaf of bread on a hot burner and melt the wrapper. When I have been gone a week the stove needs to be sandblasted. I'm not a lot better but I try not to leave the kitchen when I'm cooking something.
You are way more organized than I am. I'm one of those fly by the seat of my pants traveler and almost never make reservations. If you are on an interstate there seems to be campgrounds every few exits. I went to Seattle a few years ago and didn't make one reservation. I just try to get off the road before dark so I can find a campground and not have to hookup after dark. Sometimes the price is a shocker, especially if I stop at a KOA. I would be more concerned if I was towing a car but I can turn around almost anywhere.
