The whooping crane migration, led by costumed ultralight aircraft is flying over Marion County, FL this morning...around 7:30-8:30 Eastern time. You can watch it too by live web cam if you're up in time. They are preparing to take off in a few minutes.

wow, isn't that awesome! good morning ladies,
Coffee is brewed and theres plenty for all. Its a little cool this morning by
Arizona standards and maybe get a little rain around noon, but the weatherman
has been known to lie before
I really don't want any rain today during my
training!
Hope you all have a great day and be safe where ever you are, and stay warm too.

Good Morning... it was 28 degrees when I got up at 4am... but the good news is that it will be 70 today... Liz I could not pick it up either... maybe another day...
Today will be a great one as Shadow and I take a walk/ride around McIntosh when it gets warmer... looks like next week will be very nice also with the exception of a little rain towards the end of the week...
Take care everyone and if you are on the road be careful...
Kathleen

I watched the very brief bumpy flight....conditions were too dangerous, so canceled for today:
Date: December 16, 2010 - Entry 2 Reporter: Heather Ray
Subject: HEADWINDS HALT FLIGHT PLANS Location: Main Office
Flown Today: 0 miles Total Miles 1171.9
Joe and Richard launched at 7:39 this morning and headed toward the pen to retrieve the birds, however, conditions aloft turned out to be worse than were forecast. Joe reported that at 1300 ft. his speed was only 14.8 mph and his time to destination was reading 4 hours and 55 minutes. With only 3 hours worth of fuel onboard the ultralights... well, you see the problem.
Today will be down day five for the Chassahowitzka cranes: 3-10*, 9-10*, 15-10, 16-10* and 17-10

Thanks for the link Liz it will be fun to watch. I'm just glad I'm not up there in that tiny plane!
Kathleen, it is warmer here this morning at 32 but unfortunately not going to warm up. Thankfully we just got a small layer of ice, just enough to make walking pretty much impossible. Maybe staying in will bore me into ironing. I hope those of you who got the worst of the ice storm are ok!
Anyone out there with a Mac have any idea how to move email messages into folders? I have the folders set up but it won't let me drag and drop into them. Also how do you take a picture of the page you are on or a part of it. I can usually google any question and get the answer but so far I'm not finding answers.

GOOD MORNING ALL!
Are these the only whooping cranes left in the world, Liz? I hope to be able to watch that flight when they take off again.
I am back at Goog's and Melissa's this morning, and it's finally warming up! When I got back here yesterday, I checked my maximum-minimum thermometer, and learned it had gotten down to 23 outside, and 32 inside! I guess I didn't leave the furnace on high enough! The water was hot, so I know the hot water heater was doing its job of keeping itself from freezing, at least. I still have a water leak under the bathroom sink, but have a pan and sponge to catch that under there. I swear I don't know where the water is leaking from, but I guess I need to take all joints apart, and rewrap them with silicone tape before re-connecting them. I rarely use any water in the trailer anyway, only for doing dishes. I guess I should just drain it all again, blow out the pipes, and call it quits. I have my porta potty that I empty in the house, and water in jugs for coffee and dish-washing, if I heat it up. I am so used to doing without water that it's no deprivation for me, and I could lose the worry about pipes freezing. If it warms up by the time of the January GTG, I could then hook up to water at the site, if I chose.
My friend, Kathy, had her lung surgery on Tuesday, and seems to be doing quite well, despite the lengthier, more complicated and extensive surgery than had been planned. The oncologist hadn't analyzed the removed pieces/parts yet to determine what the next plan of action will be-----maybe more chemo and radiation-----and what her prognosis might be. They removed half of her right lung and all of the lymph nodes in her chest they could find. The surgeon said he just kept removing pieces until he found sound tissue. I am hoping against hope he got it all.
The plan for today is to head back to Orlando, after I drain my water system, and we will head to Disney's shindig tonight. I might be able to afford getting a fake Christmas tree for my house as they go on sale, IF they go on sale. I imagine they will be anxious to sell off their stock pretty soon.
I hope the rest of the country is warming up a bit now, although GA and AL seem to be having black ice and freezing rain problems, causing havoc on the roads. If anyone is driving in those conditions, my advice would be to stop right where you are and find shelter until things thaw out. Driving in snow is one thing, but driving on pure ice is impossible without chains----sharp chains, at that.
Happy Thursday to all!

In my Yahoo mail there's a drop down tab labeled "Move" at the top. (Buttons left to right: Delete, Spam, Mark, Move). Click on "Move" and choose folder to move the selected Email message to.
I can print the page by right clicking (2 finger click) on it, but don't know how to take a picture of it. I can copy all or part by highlighting and copying.

Good-morning ! Liz, what an interesting way to start our day out, thank you. To bad the weather system which is way out of line would not cooperate. We are finally having a morning above freezing here, but its raining, always warmer when it rains. Oh well, its washing away the snow, still has a big job ahead though as we had a lot of it here.
No plans here, but have a selection of things I can do inside. More cards addressed, bake cookies, work more on cleaning my closet , etc. etc. etc., read a book
Well, back to it, have a great day ladies, whatever you decide to do or wherever you may go.
Stay safe and warm,
CArol

Good Morning
Thanks for the pix and link, Liz.
We are thawing out rapidly. Yesterday afternoon all was covered with thin sheet of ice. Most roads closed at least for a time, many wrecks and stranded people but I did not hear of any major power outages. Now we just have rain and 20 -30 mph winds. Looks like all the ice has melted but we will drop back below freezing tonight.
I have appointment for mammogram this afternoon but no other firm plans. Hope some of you are in for a more interesting day.
Stay safe and warm.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!
Yucky weather here today. Finally getting the rain the weather web page was talking about. Hasn't rained much at all but the sky is all gray, overcast and it's enough to make it dreary, chilly (brrrr) and damp. The kind that sinks right in, settles and gives ya the shivers.
They were predicting some snow for later this week but haven't checked to see if that's changed or not.
Don't think much at all is gonna get accomplished here today. wanted to take a few things over to the storage room but not gonna do it in the drizzling rain. I don't want to get wet and don't want the stuff to get wet either. Jodie the neighbor brought us a length of insulation she picked up at the 'burning pit'. It's about 10ft long to cover and wrap the sewer hose with. It lays out there over top of the hose at the moment, was gonna go out and wrap string around it to tie it fast but again, I really don't feel like getting wet. Blech!!!
Coffee this morning has sure hit the spot so I think it's now time to make me something to eat to go along with it!
I hope everyone has a good day if possible and also remember to stay safe!!!
Love to all

I woke up really early this morning to the sound of gentle rain. I opened the window some so I could hear it better. Eventually, that lulled me back to sleep and by the time I woke up around 11 am, the sky was clear and sunny! It's cooler out this week, only in the 60's but that works for me as long as the sun is out!
Lots of little things to get done today. Nothing too exciting. But will be working alot now starting tomorrow until Christmas Eve. Then a whole week off before I start my new job, unless they can use me sooner than that.
Hope you are all safe, warm and dry today!
