COLD, WINDY SUNDAY

Good Morning all,

Looks like I"m the first one up this morning, so will start the coffee. It's still dark outside yet, but I know by forecast, that's it's going to be a chilly, windy day here. And another round of the lake effect snow, only this time along the western shoreline of the state. So we will sit this one out for the most part. They do say though that the snow will eventually move inland on Monday. But also, like any other lake effect event, the winds control the snow bands. Today and tomorrow the winds are suposed to be sustained at 25, gusting between 35-40, so that's going to make for some real blowing and drifting and zero visibilities where the snow does come down. Advisories are posted for about 8 counties to the west of me and down. Our snow here has settled down and what snowmobilers were out over the weekend, have already worn the trail down to dirt, so it's gotta snow more for those folks between now and Christmas, which we can be guaranteed it will.

I spent yesterday running around town looking for a new memory stick for my camera. Can find the memory sticks but not the adapter I need to use them. Did find that I can order direct from Sony though. Am still working on that. Got one more place I didn't thnk of to check out later. No big deal as I'm not running out to take pictures right now anyway. It's not as pretty as it was the other day.

Also found some black iron scroll candle holders to put on my wall on each side of the picture in my kitchen. Now to get some candles to put on them and put them both up. Have to figure out how to hang them up yet. I've got to make a stope at WalMart on the way home from church today too, to get a couple of paint rollers so I can get ready to start my last paint job per say in my laundry room. Then make one more stop and head for home.

Was looking for my favorite shampoo at two stores yesterday and neither one had it. Geez, why is it, that they quit making or stocking something you have used for years, to put out some new stuff we know nothing about Course with the shampoos out today, you have your choice of whether you want to smell ike a grape, apple tree, lemon, lime, orange or whatever.

Well, it's best that I be off. Got to finish drying my hair and get dressed to head for church. Have a nice day everybody.

good morning ladies
the coffee is brewed and I just grabbed a cup. It may be way early but wishing I had
some baileys to splash in it. Plans for the day....hmmm, will gas up the car for the
week and after that its all jello. I really need to clean the car out as it does have quite
a few items in it still from the move. One container full of bug eaten old papers I have
to go through and toss out after making sure there are no ss #'s floating around, etc.
I finally got all the bathroom walls scrubbed down yesterday, took me two times to
get the old junk off the walls. Will make my way into the dressing/sink area and on
into the bedroom. I grew up scrubbing walls all the time so its no biggie to me. Would
rather scrub walls than dust. I hate dusting! Also got more of my area rug cleaned with
my little green machine and will probably do more of that today. Its so dirty as it was
the rug I used on my patio and the dust in it is,,, well,,, amazing how much and it was
clogging up the vacuum cleaner. A little spray from the green machine really did the
trick to get the dirt out of it.
Maybe I'll make a dry run over to the new parking lot to locate it and then after work
some day this week I'll make a rush hour trip just to get the time down as to how
soon I can get there for the dinner break shift. It would be good to do that on Monday
so I can discuss that during the interview on Tuesday :P
The girls are scratching at the door and want out of the bedroom so guess its time to
get their breakfast and let them run around. Room mate isn't up yet as he had a date
last night and got in late, don't imagine I'll see him for hours yet. Suites me just fine,
the man makes me crazy.
Have a safe day whatever you do today.

We got a dusting of snow...

Good morning Ladies...

Well, it's pretty cold here in Central VA, but we got a nice dusting of snow last night. No real accumulation but it covered all the leaves in the yard and looks real nice. Certainly not as much snow as y'all up north and in the midwest--you've gotten pounded the last few days. All three cats started the night on the bed with me so I think that's a "Three Cat Night" as opposed to "Three Dog Night" for those of you old enough to remember the latter!!!

I'm feeling much better about not getting Foo Foo yesterday. I ended up coming home, fuming a bit, and decided to take a nap. Got up, went to the store and put gas in the car, made dinner (put some heat-in-the-oven orange chicken together with some stir fry vegetables--really good), then finished the laundry, and got all the gift packs for work done (chocolate truffles & Belgium cookies) and ordered the rest of the Christmas gifts on line so they actually get delivered on time to recipients. Even ordered myself a new bathrobe! :)

Had Foo Foo been here, I would have been sitting in her all day and all night reading and learning and fussing with stuff. So the universe conspired to give me back a day to get important STUFF done. Next week, with everything caught up, I will be able to spend the whole weekend playing and learning and not feel guilty about not doing ther stuff.

The only thing I have to to today is get the choco gift packs to the office; I'll not be back in the office until after Christmas. So I'm gonna go in today and leave the packs on everyone's desks--nice Monday surprise, eh? Other than that, it's Redskins football this afternoon. Anyone else here a NFL fan?

One more cuppa coffee, then I'd better get moving. Have a wonderful Sunday Ladies! Once again, I'm sure glad I found y'all!

I think we must have two morning coffees going this am....but as chilly as it is out there more coffee might not be a bad idea. Beth will figure it out or we can just see if anyone really notices :) Some days are like that. Sounds like you made good use of your "found" day yesterday and you are right.....next weekend when you are making lists of "important" stuff you need/want for FooFoo you will have the house and holiday in order so as not distract you from your new discoveries...

Myself...I have been putting off doing some book keeping and accounting for at least a week. I really don't like tracking my own stuff and then I turn around and have to keep my step mother's accounts straight, too.... :? I now have a very unsightly pile of receipts on a desk. Sigh. But in avoiding the accounting I did read a lot yesterday and spent time in the local Goodwill. It was 50% off day and you never know what nice items fall off the truck each week! :) I found so old packages of art prints, one for each of 8 artist. They were marked 75% off. Daughter being the art teacher I thought she would appreciate them and I am thinking that if I check on line they probably are actually worth something....Sarah would know. :) Or know were to check to find out!

Stay warm and explore your world. If you aren't traveling, exploring ideas will work, too!

Whoops, that second posting is my fault...easily confused with only one cuppa coffee! :o Sorry about that!!!

I don't like the bookkeeping either, but it's a necessary evil, eh? But it does feel soooooo good when the pile of receipts is entered and properly filed!

Good morning everybody, Beth will figure it out. We sure do rely on Beth, thnkas for keeping us straight!!! Its cool in central Ala today, but not real real cold. I will put my tree up today, everyone insists on it. Li, I was disappointed myself you didnt get foo foo yesterday, but think of the excitement this week. Youll be wanting to go ahead and retire now!!!! I remember when my husband and I got our first motorhome, we came home and "camped" in the driveway, our neighbors just shook their heads but they were excited too and all came over to see. Everyone have a fun day, Wendy

Good Morning to All from southern Arizona. While doing regular checklist before hitting the road The Driver discovered a "soft" tire on Jennie. So instead of leaving for Mexico this morning it will probably be tomorrow or Tuesday. Depending on when the tire gets fixed. That is the last old tire - now we'll have six New ones.
Checked out the road we'll be taking to the border yesterdaty - same as we remember it from last year. It's the truck route right to the Toll road - no going through any part of town and not a whole lot of traffic. Might be an interesting time as last year we turned in our vehicle permits but managed to miss the area to turn in our Tourist Cards and ended up on the International Bridge sill with them. I wonder how closely they are tracked. Guess we'll find out.
Went out to dinner at the Cow Palace again last nighty. Delicious steak and all the trimmings. Even had a glass of wine. Their menu offers a "32 ounce steak" They say if one person can eat the entire steak meal - meat, salad, vegs and potato. They will give them a free t-shirt. It would have to be XXXL to fit over their tummy after that. Todays special is 1/2 baked chicken with all trimmings - might end up there again tonight.
Got an email from our friend living in the house - says theres lots of snow on the ground and the trip down the hills into work was exciting. Snow still falling there.
If you're anthing like the rest of us - be glad you got extra time to take care of "regular" things cause once you get FooFoo home it will consume your time for a while. And you will enjoy every minute of it.
Well going to go online to Barnes and Noble to see if there are any new books to download to the Nook. Want to be prepared for the winter beach scene.
Safe travels, fun putzing and good weather wishes to all.

Good Morning... the sun is shining and I am not... had a bad night with much pain... then it rained real hard for a short time... that accounts for the pain... when I let Shadow out you would have not known it rained as the sand soaked it all up...
If I ever get dressed today I will take Shadow out for a short spin... he so enjoys that... and I need it to get my muscles toned up if there is such a thing...
I trust you will all have a good day...

GOOD MORNING AVA AND ALL!

My task bar thermometer tells me it is 1 deg. F. at home! It started out being quite warm this morning, but then a front came by, dropped some much-needed rain, the wind picked up, and now it's really cooling down. By Wednesday, they are predicting frosts and the coldest days of the year so far. I am still at Goog's, as we decided to stay here and sit by a campfire last night rather than go to the 'city' and sit inside a bar. A good decision it was, as it was a beautiful night out there with tons of stars.

Today I will go to the old house to check to see if I am getting any mail at that address yet, bring my table and chairs, and hang out there for a couple of days, just for a change of venue. I hope to get in some bike riding this time.

Somebody asked me if the alarm system did what it was supposed to when my power went out at home, and NO----it didn't call either Wiley or Mandy. I am not happy with that happening, so Mandy is calling the installer to see what gives with that. It has gone off twice due to a door being ajar (someone forgot to lock the sliding glass doors) and a motion sensor set off the alarm in the utility room. I am thinking mice might have done that, but I told Mandy to turn off that sensor in that room to see if it happens elsewhere. I got the thing installed to make sure someone was notified when the power went off so they could build a woodfire and save the plumbing. If they don't get this right, there will be hell to pay when I get back there!

Guess I need to get moving here and make sure I have everything I will need at the other house. I will try out the repaired clothes washer to see if the guy got the leak stopped. If not, I will just begin to look for deals on new/used models somewhere.

Sorry to hear you are feeling pains, Kath----I am so thankful I don't ever feel anything like that (knock knock)---at least not yet.

Also sorry to hear Sue didn't find her memory stick for her camera. I was so looking forward to some pretty snow pictures!

Have a good day, y'all!

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!

Almost made it before noon. HA! And the only reason that I didn't make it by noon is all your faults!! Had to read both morning postings, then had to figure out which one to post to. I get confused easily in the morning.

Whew I slept like a dead thing last night, went to bed at about midnight and finally crawled out of bed at 10am.  Had woke up at 6am to potty but went back to bed, woke up again at 8:30am and was really, really get up. Didn't make it, now it's telling me too. I'm dragging and stiff this morning. Hate feeling like that. ~sigh~

Sue, hope you get some of that snow as I know you like it. But not so much that you can't walk the furbabies. I know what your talking about on the shampoo stuff, WalMart likes to do that. And I hate the new shampoos too. I am not interested in running around smelling like a left over fruit basket, thank you very much. I pretty much stick with Suave now days. I use the Waterfall Mist scent. Wish they had unscented ones that didn't cost so dang much.

Soos, you sound so upbeat and happy! Hope you get that alarm/sensor at the NY house figured out and straightened up soon. Really looking forward to you finishing up the house and posting pics.

Ava, I had the Baileys last night in my coffee at the campfire! ;) Good idea to do a couple runs to the new job to get your times down. Smart thinking. Reading of all the scrubbing and cleaning you are having to do??? I don't even want to imagine what that place looked like to begin with! :? :o

Li, they're telling ya true. Get all the normal, mundane stuff out of the way because you will be consumed when you do get Foo Foo. You will have a blast poking around and figuring out where you want to put stuff. Then when you get in place? You will change your mind and rearrange stuff!! Some might have to use a crane to get you out of your new toy. ;)

Carol, so much better to get that tire taken care of now!!! Better now than having a tire like mine out in the middle of no where! Hopefully it's warmer now where you are! After reading your post and Kelly's comment last night, I had her get the thick chuck roast out of the freezer to defrost. I will take it and cut it for steaks in a bit and slap them yummy things on the grill this evening.

Kathleen, so very sorry to read that your hurting this morning!!! Hope ya got something to take for it and that you are feeling better and more spry a little later so Shadow gets a good walk in.

OK, time for a trip outside with Shade again. She has made friends with the neighbors 9 month old cat. We all get to laughing at them when they get going. Hope everyone has a super fine day and please do stay safe!!!

Love to all

Good afternoon,
Sunny, windy day here in SW WA. I'm just not feeling right today. I have a slight headache and feel dizzy. I took my BP and it was fine so not sure what's up. A few days ago I was having a tummyache and many fast trips to the bathroom. Is this all part of getting the flu shot? Perhaps slight flu symptoms? Not sure, but feel like my head/sinuses are stuffy, too. So after this I'm gonna hit the sofa. The dog won't be happy, but, oh, well.
I did make it to my GDs basketball games. Poor kids played two games, back to back. I would have been done in, but at 10-11 yrs old, they seem to have lots of steam.
Ok, poke me, I'm done!
Take care, everyone!

So sorry to hear you're not feeling up to par. Perhaps it's ok to take a day on the couch. I know that when I'm up there in WA, the convergences of weather around the sound cause me headaches. That combined wth the flu shot may have upset your system. Hopefully, after an afternoon of rest, you'll be back to 100%. Take care...

My morning is either way earlier than yours (went to bed at 6:30 am) or way later - lol as it's now your night. But the 2 morning threads are merged - and for those of you who know this board, when I merge threads, it puts them in the order they were written. So if anyone comes and reads this thread now, they might be more confused hahaha

And no problem - this is not the first, nor will it be the last, time we've had 2 morning threads!
