Well, here we are, the day after or the famed Black Friday for those of you who are going out into the masses to shop. This lady is staying home. No Christmas shopping to do and no extra money to spend right now.
Hope you all had a great day yesterday with family, friends or whoever you were with. I enjoyed my time at my cousin's. Lots of chattng, good food and fellowship. And WAY to much food. It's the BEFORE appietizers that kill you. And of course we all overindulged. I don't know about anybody else, but the older I get , I can't eat that much anymore. Drove home in a wet snow that was making the roads a little slushy and also hard to see cause the wind was blowing the snow around. Couldn't use brights, had to use low beams and fog lamps.
It snowed again last night and now the ground is white aalthough I can see grass poking up under my big pine tree. Lake effect snow is supposed to set in today on the weat winds. We can see around 3-6 inches if the winds are right. Right now it's quiet out there. But those lake effect bands can be heavy at times and with a strong wind blowing, can create white out conditions, so getting into the Black Friday madness can be a bit dangerous.
I shake my head at the Black Friday sales thing anyway. In many places, it starts at Midnight. Up here it's anywhere from 3:00 a.m. on. Most people have been up since morning on Thaksgiving, a lot preparing big meals, others visiting and eating elsewhere. All of us for the most part tend to over indulge. By evening, the cooks are tired, the eaters are stuffed and moaning they ate too much and everybody's trying to stay awake. Then those wanting to shop are going to take off and hit the stores at midnight or just grab a little sleep and head out for a 3 a.m. start. That's going to make for drowsy and not so attentive drivers out there. After a few hours of running around shopping, somebody is going to have an accident. And with the possible white out cnditions, it is not going to make for a pleasant day.
I'm going to stay home today and start back on my kitchen project. Taking off the wallpaper on the soffits. Will remove and perhaps prime them so I can paint tomorrow. Forgot to get another small roller. I'll use the one I have here for the primer and get another one for the paint. Tomorrow is another day.
So have a great day everyone, whatever your plans are.Sue and the "Furry Crew"
