ANOTHER WARM TUESDAY

GOOD MORNING TO ALL FROM WARM, SLIGHTLY OVERCAST FL!
Today I will go to my place in Orlando and meet with the appliance insurance company who will install a new gasket for my ancient washing machine. I want them also to order a new thermostat, as the kids say the one that's there is very 'touchy' and peculiar. If there's one thing I don't need to baffle me even more than usual, it's 'touchy' and 'peculiar'!! I will stay overnight there, too, to make sure my inflatable queen-sized bed on a fold-up frame still holds air. I love to sleep out on the porch there, and I will give that a try. This time I will remember to bring my computer with me so I can chat tonight!
Tomorrow, Melissa will pick up her parents at the Amtrak station near here, and they will stay until Sunday for the Thanksgiving feast weekend. They are both sightless (not genetic----victims of too much Oxygen in incubators way back when no one knew any better) and their service dog, Fallon. I am hoping Molly will be hospitable with another female, a puppy, actually, who will want to play and romp. Molly tends to be very snarly/growly with other females, but has never gone after any of them yet! She did get along fine with their other service dog, Merry, who stayed for 10 days with us in the Adirondacks a couple of summers ago. That was Merry's last road trip and playing and swimming, as she was diagnosed with cancer shortly after that.
Melissa has about 10 lists going, although she's trying to make this first Thanksgiving she has ever cooked a simple meal....she wants perfection for me and her parents. I am sure none of us gives a hoot about perfection! She is all anxious and is trying so hard to make things pan out. I want to be useful, but want to make sure this is HER deal, so she can take the praise for it! So.....unless I am asked, I will stay out of things but for the preparation of the turnips which I volunteered to do. My son has a machete which will work for cutting those babies up for boiling!
Time for me to hit the roads here before the afternoon commuting traffic begins. I think it was Liz who told me that the the safest/least busy driving times were between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm, so will try to do my things then.
I need to exchange a garbage disposal at Lowes today for the correct model that Weldon can install in my other sink at the house. We were forced to get the wrong model the day I applied for my Lowes card in order to get in on the 6 months-no interest deal. Weldon syas it is a good gadget to replace, as there is no septic system there and it takes a lot of smelly garbage and flushes it. There is a Lowes very close to my house in Orlando. I am bringing my camera to get some pics of that place, too.
This afternoon, if it gets warm enough, I will go swimming and spend some time in the spa at the pool. Tough life! I see by my task bar thermometer that it's 39 back home!
Hope you all have a wonderful day doing whatever needs to be done and then rewarding yourselves with a treat!
