CLOUDY SUNDAY

A good Sunday morning to you all,

Another cloudy day here at the 45th. We have a lot of cloudy days here this time of year. Gray November. Cooler air passing over the Great Lakes produces the cloud cover as well as the lake effect snow, so until the lakes freeze, if they do, we have more clouds than sun until late January on the average. February can be georgeous. The Lakes control the weather here in Michigan. They do funny things to storm fronts and such . And winter is hanging just up north there, ready to move on down this coming week they say.

As for me. I getting ready to head out to church. The meeting a friend for breakfast aferward. Haven't seen each other for awhile and I enjoy visiting with her. Then it wil be a stop at the store before heading for home. Will probably work in my kitchen for awhle and kind of put things back. I want to get the lower areas back in place before I start on the soffits. Gets that stuff back under the cabinest, out of the way. Soffits won't take long to remove wallpaper, prime and paint. And of course there is the dailly dog walk too.

Hope Kathleen is doing okay on her travels and is making progress nicely. I think she timed it just right as far as weather is concerned. Looking forward to hearing how she is doing when she can get a connection.

So I'm off and running now. Have a great day everybody and those who are on the roads, drive safely.

GOOD MORNING, SUE, AND EVERYONE!

It's another warm, slightly cloudy day here, and I am loving this weather!

Here are a few pictures for this morning.

My winter home just before dark last night.

Am still waiting to hear from Kathy as she makes her way southward. I hope all of you are having a fun day doing something that will make you happy. Molly and I will walk the lake front again. The kids are off at a football game, working to give away coffee samples and making some extra bucks. My desktop thermometer says it is still only 16 degrees at home! It was 12F. when I first looked! ACK! Mandy and Joe are there this weekend, so I'm hoping things are going ok back in the mountains.

Happy Sunday you all!

Good Morning all from cold, windy, supposed to be rainy Las Vegas. It is going to be nicer in Indiana today then it will be here. Its about 6:30 and just getting light and we are rocking away from the wind. Our little heater is working full time.
We moved from Sams Town to the 1000Trails park yesterday. Forgot how small the spaces are in the TT - the guys on both side of us have 5th wheels and barely have room to park their trucks with us in our space. Poor Willie is like a piece of meat in a truck sandwich. Have been running around doing lots of errands: fixed my watch, fixed the graphics on the jeep, set up appointments for oil changes and window tinting - they are both coming to rv park - dinner with our youngest son and family. Visited one used books store and have two more on list also a kite shop - needed string - bought more kites! To Frys for a camera battery and antennas - ours disappeared one night while stopped on the way out - also needed a hub cap for Jennie - it too disappeared on way here.
Also enjoying the grocery stores here and finding stuff we've been without since last trip west.
Still haven't managed to catch satellite guy - we call him but he doesn't call back. But according to the company he will have the part by tomorrow.
we've been noticing the effect the times have had on Vegas. Lots and lots of empty buildings - my favorite huge yardage store is gone! Two big construction sites on the strip sit partly done - no one working on them. More people with signs on the street corners. So sad - this was such a vital city before.
We'll be here until the 4th. On Thanksgiving our second youngest son is coming over with his girl friend. Haven't seen him in 4 years. and the 1st our oldest will be here to get married. His daughter and boy friend will also be coming.
Going to see a couple of my friends tomorrow or the next day. We all worked together in Los Angeles - should be fun.
Today is the last NASCAR race of the season so will watch that then go to the big indoor swap meet to pick up a couple of things.
That's about it.
Hope all have a good day and nice weather.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

It's chilly and drippy here in UT. It started raining last eve and continued thru the night. Woke up at 5:45am went potty listening to the rain so went back to bed. Finally got up at 7am. No rain, yay. Took Shade out to do her business and just as we were ready to go back inside it started to pour! Talk about jumping in the door right quick. Neither one of us wanted to get our tail feathers wet. Have a leak in the bathroom roof vent which doesn't surprise me in the least. LOL Have no vent cover up there. So today I will snitch a ladder from the maintenance guy, climb up there and "duct tape" a garbage bag over the vent opening. There's already plastic up there but...... So my extra should do the trick for now. I am NOT gonna resort to putting a tarp over this thing. I was really worried about leaks but so far (thankfully and hopefully) the vent is the only one we know of. WHEW

No plans in the making here. We are just slowly cleaning up the Bug House and the two of us are learning to live in a small area. Optimistic I know but we both should survive the winter in here and come out on the other side in the spring still alive and "friends".   One or both of us maybe might have some hide patches missing here or there but no bodily pieces gone.

Snow storm is suppose to begin sometime today or this eve. Haven't checked the weather website yet today. Gonna do that real soon tho. Hope everyone has a really good day, enjoy whatever your doing, take a little time for yourself to regroup and recenter. Stay safe!

Love to all

It snowed here last night. Almost gone this morning. It's unusual for us to get snow this early. Usually we only get one or two snow storms a year. I wonder what this means. The Sierra is getting hit really hard. Expecting about 4 feet at the higher elevations. This is the earliest snow storm in 6 years. The ski resorts are estatic.

It's cloudy off and on and windy here this morning. Cooled off a bit. It is 66 at 11:00 and that is supposed to be our high for the day. Heard about the snow predictions for the mountains. There is a 50% chance of rain here today, but it usually misses us. My neck and shoulder hurt pretty bad today. Not sure what I did, but it's mostly been hurting when I sleep on that side for a few nights. It's much worse so think I may have aggravated it yesterday, house cleaning. Been putting heat on it all morning. Probably should alternate with ice, but I hate the chill! Slept in a bit so didn't even get up the gumption to go to Church :( I do need to cut Rags' hair, but think it can wait until a nicer day. Thanks to whoever (maybe Mitch?) suggested using the tailgate of my truck for grooming, since I don't have a picnic table here. Good idea :o

Thanks for sharing the pics, Soos! I'm glad you included captions. Was trying to figure out what I was looking at on the one with the canoe  I did notice a coffee pot on all the time ;) It looks cozy in there! You look like you're out in the country with the cows. How are you dealing with dumping, water, etc?

Soos, you've done a great job fixing up your living space. It looks very comfortable. I love the space you have around you too. Have you taken the canoe out on the pond yet?

Hope Barbie and Linda, you two can escape your funk of late. God will provide, and we're all lifting you up.

Those of you in the cold rainy & snowy places....brrr! I'm packing for cold weather in TN. Layers & winter clothes. Don't expect to need any shorts.

Continued safe travels to you, Kathleen.

Afternoon, all!
I kept my youngest GD overnight last night. Her family had a very early basketball game to get to this morning and she's not a morning person. When they came to get her early this afternoon I had lunch all made. I made beef in the crockpot for sandwiches on hoagie rolls which we topped with pepperjack cheese and put under the broiler. Also had fresh cut up fruit, chips and fresh baked cookies. Soon after we ate it started snowing!! When it started coming down in earnest they decided it was time to head home as they live up a small mountain and the road is pretty steep and can get slippery.

I'm checking posts and then will hit the sofa. Love the GDs but I don't sleep well when they are here.

Oh, and my toilet stopped up last night! Good thing I have a second bathroom. I've never had a toilet do that, don't own a plunger My SIL brought one with him so I got that fixed. Yuck! Hope to never have to do that again any time soon.

Hope everyone's day went ok. I do see that Ava had quite the adventure.

Thanks, Liz, and yes....Molly and I go out in the canoe regularly to get her used to wearing her life jacket and for my training getting in and out without capsizing! So far, we haven't used the pontoons, but I will put those on in gator territories!

No, we're not. I'm better. Say, Linda - do you want me to take out some of the red of your avatar? No problem if you like it as it is.

She's taking on the glow (and powers?) of Spiderman! That photo was taken in downtown Las Vegas.
