WET WINDY THURSDAY

A wet windy Thursday on tap for us here today, with some snow mixing in as well. That will mostly be along the lakeshores due to N/NE winds. But being in a high elevation here, I wouldn't be surprised to see some snowflakes fly by. I'm sure that some of the businesses that rely on winter sports folks are going to start a snowdance pretty soon. The snowmobile trails open on Dec. 1st and sone of the ski resorts like to try to open Thanksgiving weekend.
As for me today, I'm going to try to see if I can get into my chiropractor. Knee popped out on my yestrday and that hurts. Funny thing was, I was just there on Tuesday for my monthly "tune up" as I call it. The noff to check out some 3 day steak sales at the store. Furnace guy is coming to check and clean my furnace before serious heating season gets here too.
Also going to send for some travel lit from IL, IN, KY. Thinking of taking a little spring trip south next spring. So will give me something to look at during the snowy months. Been through all those states many times, but always areas you never get to. Want to go see covered bridges in IN.
So have a great day everyone, wherever it leads you.

I had forgotten who said they liked the covered bridges. Ala has a bunch of them!

I am going through withdrawal...the Short Bus left this morning headed towards NC without me.
Blondie (dog) has been hunting all morning for her Driver to take her for morning coffee and a her dog bone from the coffee hut....
Oh well, the husband is off to visit a friend and attend a large pottery festival in Dillsboro, NC. He said there should be about 40 potters and they are all excellent. He did not even try to jury in at this point in his career......but he said it is good for networking and hangin' out the talented artists....
...and from there he wasn't sure which way he was driving....maybe over to the coast....hum....where have I heard those kind of plans before.
Nice person that I am I took the bus over to Walmart and got the oil changed and new windshield wipers put on for him.
This afternoon I will head up I-71 to Columbus to attend the annual awards dinner and a meeting of the Northeastern Ohio English Cocker Fanciers.....they let us SW folks show up and join....
The restaurant is only an hour and a half away.....not a bad drive with books on tape.....
CHilly and crisp here in Ohio but plaenty of sunshine so far and no flakes of snow. Enjoy your day and your work and travels.....where ever you are.

GOOD MORNING ALL!
We are in Point South KOA in GA, and we will stay right here today, for two reasons----sanity (relief from stress!) and weather. Thunderstorms and wind and rain are predicted for the next 24 hours, or so, and then sunny tomorrow. If we can get out of here early (EARLY) tomorrow morning, we can get to Goog's (my son, Weldon's) by tomorrow before dark I HOPE. If not tomorrow, then by Saturday early in the day.
It is warm here, in the 60s, although everyone is bundled up like winter! There is a pond here, with white ibises and other aquatic birds, some nice woods, and our spot is an end one, so we have a great view of the pond and tons of space.
I am looking forward to a day of rest!
Maybe now that I have established a connection, I can read all of the posts I have missed this week. Hope to see some of you in the chatroom this evening, if I can maintain this connection!
Off to lower the stabilizer jacks, and set up some chairs under the awining.
Happy trails to all. OH YES----last evening, when we got here, I stupidly decided to gas up before getting to the campground so as to be ready to roll bright and early this morning. I turned left off the road into a BP station, truck kind, and then discovered that the only way back onto the road to KOA, in the same direction we were traveling, was to haul across 4 lanes of traffic after a stop sign, park in the middle where the trucks wide-turn into the gas station, and wait for a clearing in the other 4 lanes going in the opposite direction. I spent 1/2 to 3/4 of an hour watching the traffic from the stop sign, to see how the locals navigated that death trap! I was ready to cry when I decided I would just wait at that stop sign until I found just the right traffic lulls to make it. We had to wait a good while, but then I saw my space, hauled ass, and we made it! From now on, I will NOT turn left off a highway to gas up! Sigh!

Good Morning Sue, Tina and SOOS... it is sunny here... it will be in the high 40s today... Margie will come and help me with some of the things in Bright Hope... she will help me not get hung up on things... I sort of do that a lot...
Soos I am so proud of you... now that you have the things down pat you can take your time... another day does not mean a lot if you are safe, warm and fed... this traveling south thing is a laid back time in your life... don't worry be happy... like that song...
Tina you are a good wife... lol... just think you will have piece and quiet for a few days...
Sue snow is not good... do not want that here in IL before I can leave...
My title came this morning by over night mail... that is a long long story that I will not go into now and here...
My son Chuck was put in the hospital yesterday morning... his blood sugar was over 500... they are going to do more tests today and a heart cath this morning... I am very worried right now...
Take care all...
Kathleen

Glad you have the title now, Kath. Interesting the "hurry up and wait" - without knowing the story - fun to think of all the time passing, then they overnight it
Sorry to hear about your son - will keep him in my thoughts - and hope that you get good news from all the tests.

Sorry about your son, Kath. Please let us know what goes with him.
Did a laundry here, lost and then found my wallet with all my credit cards, driver's license, you name it-----talk about stress! (I had put it into my toothbrushing/cosmetic kit.)
Time to pay some more bills now and get some pictures onto Webshots so I can show them.

Kathleen ...I will be thinking of you and your son.......hope everything stabilizes out soon.
Soos ....I learned long ago it really doesn't matter which way I turn....to get to what I want...gas, etc. If exiting back onto the highway looks too tricky I just turn the way that looks the safest and then do another turn around as soon as I find a large lot or road or crossroads that achieve what I need it to do..... :=) Driving a block, a mile or even two is easier than wear and tear on my nerves and living on the edge of safety.....

Thank you all of my friends... My daughter in law called and they put a stint in and said there are several small blockages... he must de stress his life... he has to take some kind of medicine for a year and the doctor said if you miss ONE day you will have a heart attack and you will die... Sandy said he was pretty shook up...
Margie came over and helped a lot with Bright Hope...
She left and the phone rang.... guess who it was you got it it was Chuck... he said he was awake all through the procedure... he said it was easy... I did not tell him what Sandy had said... he said several times he loved me...
Well that is all I know now.... thank you all again...

Glad to hear he came through the procedure ok, Kathleen. Doctors can do amazing things these days. Hopefully he'll be able to follow drs. recommendations for lifestyle changes, and will be back on the road to good health.

I choose not to be awake for mine. They don't completely put you under, but it's close.
I'm glad they found the problem and took care of it. Scary news for sure. Thanks for the update.
Get some rest.
