SEASONABLE FRIDAY

GOOD FRIDAY MORNING TO ALL!

It's back down to a seasonable 38 degrees here this morning, and raining AGAIN! A good thing, however, is that the wind has stopped and it's calm out there. I am really hoping for a decent travel day tomorrow, as I am ready to roll here.

I got my broken tooth repaired yesterday, with no problem at all, and I refused the novocaine as it usually doesn't work for me anyway. I didn't need it at all. He is an artist, that dentist! He rebuilt my broken off molar so it's better than new, even though he can't guarantee the procedure as he would recommend a crown for that tooth. He already knows my feelings about crowns.....if and when I have to have one, I will, but otherwise, the thought of grinding down a perfectly healthy (yes, broken, but healthy at the roots) tooth and making it into an ugly nubbin peg that needs covering just doesn't sit well (literally!) at all with me. That is why I have this removeable bridge instead of a permanent one that he wanted to give me 6 years ago. I have been so happy with it!

Today I need to make me a large-print telephone list with names to say to post in the truck where I can read it while I am driving, and program those numbers into my cell phone. On that list will be my Good Sam Road service number, the girl whose house I am headed for tomorrow night, my friend who will be traveling with me, and my two kids. Then I need to go to Saranac Lake where there is phone service, and practice using my voice-activated sync phone service which came with my truck for free for 3 years. I also want to check out the possibility of getting air in my tires at the new Stewart's gas station, as I have gift cards for gasoline there, as well.

I just heard they are predicting showers for tomorrow, too, but, as long as it's not freezing, I will leave and just go slower than I might travel on dry roads.

Beth is all settled into her new spot for the next two months while she works at Amazon. I hope others of you on the roads, or even at home, are having better weather today than the past few days!

I may or may not post any morning coffee notices after tomorrow morning, until I get to my son's house in FL. If I find WiFi along the way, I will use that when possible. I have my camera ready to photograph the trek of Sue and Sue, aka those two women whose names I can't recall this morning, per usual! LIke Bonnie and Clyde, but two women who took a trip----I am sure you know them. My learning disability for names is kicking in! Thelma and Bonnie? Gracie and Eva? Lorna and Fiona? Sigh---I give up!

Off I go to do my last minute preps and try to get relaxed for tomorrow. I hope you will all stop in for coffee and tell us something about what's going on in your life, even if it's just a sentence or two. I think it's so much fun to hear from others out there in campland, or would-be campland. Happy Friday!

Great new on the tooth, Soos. I love those dentists who are truly experts at their trade. I love mine too, but they are expensive. Top of the line equipment and training of course. But having procedures done there is really painless and enjoyable if there is such a thing. I've had to get two crowns put in last year and both time the procedures went very well. They used Novocaine and since they have their overhead computer monitors wired into cable, I got to what HGTV or whatever I want while she was working on me.Couse one pays for all this, but......

And tomorrow you roll. You go girl. Enjoyo it, take lots of pictures, don't put yourself on a time schedule if you don't have to, looks like nice weather coming in. And good luck with your Sync system. I have OnStar in mine and I can program the numbers right into the system and then just tell them which one I want and it's automatically dialed for me. I give each number a simple name that I associate with the number so I can remember them. I havent done that to this new truck yet, but probably will down the road here. It has a built in phone system, so I don't need a cell phone when I'm on the road and in case of accident, it will automatically come on and if I don't respond to it within x number of seconds, it will automatically dispatch emergency crews to my location which it has pinned down via GPS.

Today I plan to spend outside, cleaning up from the storm. It's Sparky's last day with us too. His owners come home in the morning tomorrow and will be picking him up and unfortunately assessing the damage done to the trees at their motel as well as getting into clean up.

Cold, down right cold here at Potters Creek cg in central Texas. At 8 a.m. the temps were at 42 degrees. Wow wonder what it was at 5 a.m. Got my chords and turtleneck on this morning. I have the windows and vents closed and the little heater going.

Folks are packing up and pulling out this morning. I have two days before I pack up and head out to Kerrville. Then Tuesday I head on to Paradise, AZ. My friend told me to expect snow while staying at her place. That's the eastern slopes of the Chiricahua Mountains. My blue jay is twirling in the wind this morning.

Soos, have fun, take lots of pics, and be sure you all giggle a lot on your drive south. I will be glad to hear how you like winterizing your rig this way  . It is quite effective.

Need to get on with the rest of my rat killing <not really rats>.

I am in would-be camperland. I would like to be camping but went last weekend. Guess I will just go to Sam's and stop by and see my son. It's nice to see him every week after him being gone for 20 years. Don't know if he is enjoying it but I sure am.

It is cool here for a change, in the 60's. I need to move my Ficus tree back in the house. His vacation on the carport is about over. It is suppose to be in the 40's at night. It is really dry here and my DH has sprinklers going in the small pens around the barn trying to get his rye grass started.

Getting on with the rat killing was an expression my mother and aunts used. Don't know if that's a Texas thing or not but they had a lot of funny sayings. One of my favorites was someone was as independent as a hog on ice. When we were kids if we ask where something was at they would say behind the A looking over the T.

Soos, that was Thelma and Louise! They ended up driving off a cliff tho, so don't do that! Just have fun!

Still waiting for official word on my new place before packing up to move in. Very nervewracking! They are checking on my hours and income with my new job before giving me the OK. Just need to know SOON, so I can either start moving in or start looking for another place. I already sent in my change of address for that place to the post office. I hate having to hurry up and wait like this! Will let you know when I know!

UPDATE: Just got the call that I am good to go for moving in to the new place! Whew! Got my car all loaded for the first trip (will take two trips since I have more stuff to move now). Will post tonight when I am all moved in and let you know how it went.

PS> Just figured out another reason I have been down in the dumps. I just realized I forgot to take my anti-depressants for the past few days! Oops!

Soos, Having told you earlier how I have enjoyed following your preparations for going south, just want to wish you well, enjoy the scenery, take pictures, and write as often as possible. You have checked off a full notebook of 'todo's', maybe you should just plan to get to FL and sleep for a week :) 8-)

Barbie, I am new, about 2 months, but as I have told Soos, I have also followed your preparations, trip and arrival. Like the others I am so sorry for your unwelcome surprise :o in finding the house and your room so uninhabitable. It took me back a few years when a friend and I started an errand and pet sitting business. Wow, what an eye opener  :!: There are some ECCENTRIC people in this world. Our experience was with cats and I mean CATS as the owner didn't even know how many there were. We had to wear masks to do the job, the cats ruled :!: :!: This woman might be lonely but she is also probably eccentric and has no idea she lives in such filth. They do exist  I hope you don't have to stay there even another day but I suspect she is one who has 'slipped' a little and might not even know she lives in filth.. I would tell her the truth without hurting her feelings. You found it to be not what you really wanted and you have found the right place for you somewhere else. Barbie, you probably know this but you and many of your friends on this forum are strong women. As I hear the stories of meeting obstacles head on I have a brand new appreciation, even for myself. I had a husband who hated for me to hand him his honey do's which I did almost never. I chose to wait until he was gone and then tackle it myself. He would then get mad at me for doing it :? Now I know I have soulmates out here :) I will be thinking of you today as you wait for the answer. The new place looks so wonderful. We are all rooting for you but we also know if it falls through you will spend a moment being disappointed :( then you will start beating the bushes again. Good Luck and keep up the good blog!

I got all my stuff moved in and will finish unpacking tomorrow. It is supposed to rain tomorrow so will have all day to unpack. Spent too much money shopping for stuff today! But it was fun! I am really excited about this place!
