Good morning everyone,
A breezy chilly mornng here in northern Michigan. Temp around 40 with a light rain. May see a few snow flakes according to weather forecast, but no big deal. Winds are dropping off, I still have my power, so all's well here. Number of schools are closed up north here and lots of people without power. Power company is bringing in crews from downstate to help restore power. So I am very lucky indeed. This power thing reminded me that I need a new battery operated lantern as my others are no longer any good and I threw them out this summer. They come in handy in case power goes out this time of year when nights are longer. Any long term power outage and I have kerosene lamps and lamp oil in the basement.
Hope Soos was able to get that tooth fixed.
My plans for this morning at least are to head into town (you get the drift I like to head into town), go to bank, WalMart and wherever else I decide to stop. May even hit the sporting goods place and check on lanterns.
Got a heads up from one of my co workers the other day. Apparently she and one of the others got a letter from the State Unemployment folks stating that they have to attend this session on November 12th for 3 1/2 hours at Michigan Works (that's out job placement agency for unemployed workers) to learn how to better themselves when looking for work. Wondered if I had gotten one. Not yet. Sheeeesh, we need that like a hole in the head. All of us are going back to the park in April, George is 70, he works cause he wants to, I'm getting ready to retire and maybe work part time and Mary is happy at the park, so why should we have to learn how to look for work! Although we know we have jobs waiting baring anyhing unforseen, the stae only looks at the immediate 120 days after you apply and since we don't have a definite starting date, we can't state that and it doesn't falll into that 120 days anyway. And if we don't go, then it can affect our unemployment. GRRRRR>>>>>>
