Sunday Afternoon

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunday Afternoon

Postby Bethers » Sun Oct 17, 2010 12:25 pm

No one feels like talking this morning? Not like this group! Happy afternoon, everyone.

I just got a crockpot going with the Mexican cornbread I made at the AR gtg. My sis is having people over today - that's my contribution. In a bit I'll be getting the mh ready for traveling - as I'll leave here tomorrow. Will be interesting - as normally I can just drive off. But this time, I'll have to take just the rv, to go where I can dump it. Then return and fill my water and hook up the car. Figure it'll be afternoon before I'm on the road. But not going far tomorrow - unless something changes I don't know about. Tuesday I'll head on down to Kathleen's for a couple days/nights. Will be great to see her new rig and to just meet and chat, etc etc. We ladies know how to do that.

Hope everyone is having a great day.
Beth

GOOD AFTERNOON, BETH, AND ALL!

I missed Morning Coffee this morning as Mandy and I got home late from the wedding, made us a few drinkie-poos after we knew the driving was over, and sat up talking until the wee hours of the morning. All in all, yesterday was a wonderful day for me, despite my misgivings about the fancy-schmancy wedding worries----it turned out to be a most rewarding affair, much fun and laughter, a lot of dancing, much reminiscing with old friends not often see any more, super-delicious food---as much as we could eat---and the best pumpkin cheesecake frosted with cream cheese icing I have ever eaten! The bonus of having more one-on-one time with my daughter was an added treat.

It's amazing how high the plowed snowbanks on the sides of the road were between here and the next town over of Black Brook! It looked REALLY wintry over there, just 10 miles away! I guess we narrowly escaped the colder temps that brought on all that frozen stuff.

We finished up hauling heavy stuff to the cellar this morning, she helped me bring in firewood to keep the warmth in here which has been feeling SOOOOO good, we discussed the use of the generator in the back of my truck to keep my batteries charged for the trip and to run the microwave to cook dinners, she liked my ingenious arrangement of my canoe in the trailer, and we decided to stow some heavier stuff in the bathtub (rear left hand side) under the canoe to counter-balance the weight from clothes and food in the more upfront, right-hand side of the trailer.

Now to do a laundry, put the storm window back in the front storm door after a summer season with it out of there, check and re-check some of my lists, and make another list of to-dos for tomorrow.

Happy Sunday to all out in camperland or those longing to be out in camperland!

Happy travels!

Afternoon, everyone.
Kinda slept in this AM, then played Farmville till my eyes crossed. Had my coffee, oatmeal and banana and then showered. Choco needed a walk badly as yesterday I only left the house to get my massage. Ahhhh! Wish I could afford to get one of those every week.
We had our first frost this AM. Not a heavy one, but got me to thinking that I probably should get serious about winterizing Littly Missy soon.
Listening to the Bears/Seattle Seahawks game. I'm not a football fan, but live in WA and was born/raised in Illinois, so I feel ike I have a foot in both camps.
Not much else happening 'round here. Lots of football fans in the hood so the streets are quiet. lol
Have a gooder!

Good Afternoon for the second try... my daughter Jackie called so the other post was lost... and a politicians helper came to the door and we talked about 20 minutes... sadly to say am not for his candidate but we had an interesting talk... he had all the names I had all the opinions...

After church this morning I took my comforter, dog beds, rugs to the laundry mat... while they were washing I went to Wendy's and got a salad and baked potato... I took them back to the laundry mat put the things in the dryer and ate my meal... such nice people in there to visit with... should go more often but I would be broke... it cost $4.25 for each load... and $3.00 for 32 minutes to dry... have the things hanging on my hand rail around my deck as they did not get dry in that time... these were large washers and I only had two... what a job these people have to lug things there and back home... glad for my washer and dryer here at home!! :D

I am washing all the towels and things from the old MH sure takes a long while... fresh start... they have been sitting for months in there...

What a grand time you have had Beth visiting your sister... makes me miss Wilma all the more... Soos I told you so... weddings are grand simply to visit with those people we seldom see... glad Mandy was with you and helped when you got up this morning... time to get out of Dodge Soos when the snow starts falling... Oh what a great time you had Lenora a massage!! I have never had one but bet they are great...

Well the dryer bell rang need to fold this load and put another in... whew...

Have a great rest of the day everyone...

Bethers - Crockpot cornbread? Yum! I just got a Crockpot and would love the recipe.

I spent part of my Sunday making a video for the first time, with my new Nikon D90 and iMovie. The video is silly and short, but what fun. I'll post it today on the blog, and will do more in the future.

Hope you all have a fabulous week.

AlmostThere and Tina - Thanks! I plan to make more, although a friend requested I put myself *in front of* the camera next time. I'm not quite as excited about that (ha).

There are some crockpot cornbreads already posted. This one is different, though. I made it for the AR gtg, and now again for this - haven't every got it on my computer. When I have power, will get it on the computer and post. Promise.
