WARMER WEDNESDAY

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

WARMER WEDNESDAY

GOOD MORNING ALL!

My friend, Sue, former college suitemate, arrived yesterday, so we spent hours catching up on our lives. It's fun to see her again! Sorry to have missed the chatroom last night.

This morning, the alarm system installer is due any time, so this will be a short note. I left Molly in the trailer so she will be out from under foot in here. Have to go give her some breakfast before I forget it, too.

The dentist appointment was a total waste yesterday, as I had no clue I would have to pay money up front and then bill my own dental insurance company to get reimbursed. So, I put on my jacket and bid them a fond farewell after paying 60.00 for about a three minute consultation with the dentist to see if putting some bonding material on my front teeth is possible----they are very thin, brittle, and breaking off unevenly. They can do that for about 130 per tooth. No tooth cleaning because they won't do that without a full set of x-rays, and X-rays would have cost about 220. I was furious when I left, and probably will not go back to that dentist. Today I will call the guy, farther away, that I have used for years to see if I can get an appointment in less than the two months I waited for this one. I believe he will bill my insurance company---we shall see. I have not had dental insurance since Wiley retired and we both had it. Now I am buying mine from the school plan, and have never used it. Anyway, I was not a happy camper when I left town!

Off I go to make Molly's breakfast and prepare for the alarm system guy. I need to make sure that something as small as a mouse will not set off the alarm system!

Coffee is hot and Hazlenut flavored, so stop in and tell us about your day!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Soos, depending upon your availability....I have gotten in at the dentists for cleaning by asking then to keep my name available on standby.....They call me when they get a cancellation....Sometimes I only get a days notice but I get in.

Good Morning Everyone - it is COLD here this a.m. somewhere in high 30s. But supposed to get back up to 80 by Sunday.
The Driver says it is time to GO. We will be spending the winter in Mexico again. And we are taking the class C - Jennie again. The Alfa is in storage. Everything with the RV is ready - except for last minute items. I'm just being stuborn and not wanting to leave until November - after the leaves colors are gone. We'll spend some time in Vegas with our youngest son (He just turned 40 - can't be possible - seems like I was 40 just a couple of years ago!) and family and maybe go to CA to see a couple of the other sons - if we can't get them to come to Vegas.
I finally finished painting my laundry room and the glass workshop. Gad I ache all over. Making some Christmas place mats that so far have entailed two trips into town to JoAnns. Have lots of material but nothing that worked........
We have a friend who just sold his house in Indy so he is going to move in here for the winter while we are gone. Always makes me feel better to have someone here.
Oh yah, Bill bought me a Nook. Think it will come in handy in MX when I want reading material. Seems like the book exchanges there are mostly "romance novels" I did notice that the ebooks by the authors I like - that are now out in paperback - are more expensive as ebooks.
Have safe travels.

Warmer Wednesday

Postby BarbaraRose » Wed Oct 06, 2010 12:09 pm

Hi gals! I'm back!! Haven't had access to internet for awhile. I spent last weekend in Rock Island and Moline visiting with cousins I haven't seen for almost 20 years! Had a great time getting caught up and meeting all their kids! So glad I decided to go visit them! I almost kidnapped one of my cousin's dogs! She was so adorable! But she was too big to fit in my packed car, so had to leave her behind :(

Now Linda and I are in Lincoln, NE. We got here late yesterday afternoon after stopping in Omaha to have lunch with her brother. Last night we had dinner at her daughter's place with her family. Are going back there tonight for a cookout. I need today to relax and give my back a break from driving! Been getting pretty stiff and sore from that.

Last night I woke up in the middle of the night kicking and screaming from a nightmare! Poor Linda came running out to see what was wrong! Dreamt I was being attacked by a cougar! Yikes!

The weather this morning is wonderful! About 65 already with a nice breeze! Gonna go hit Walmart later to pick up a few things. Maybe fit in a nap before we go to Linda's daughter's for dinner.

Tomorrow, Linda's friend Colleen comes in from California. So it will be tight quarters in the RV at night but we'll get it figured out. Then we head west on Friday! California, here I come!!

My cassette player in my car bit the dust so I can't play all the tapes I brought to listen to along the way :( . I had bought "Travels With Charlie" on tape too, so can't listen to that either now. Also, being very non-computer savvy, I just discovered that I can't get into my e-mail now that I don't have MSN service. Will have to contact them to see if I can somehow get back into that before I get to California to read my e-mails or at least get to my address book. I started on my blog yesterday so I can at least let people know what I'm up to on there if they check that.

Checked on my cat last night and I guess she is adjusting very well to her new home. The lady who took her also took my bike to try and sell it for me. She did sell it already and got the full $100 I was asking for it, so that will help a lot. I also found my car keys I misplaced last week! They were under a pile of stuff in my living room. I did a happy dance when I saw those!

I haven't had time to keep up on what everyone on here is up to, so hope you are all doing well, traveling safe and having fun!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good Afternoon Ladies... it is one of the most beautiful fall days here in Normal... leaves are falling and colors are lovely...

Good to hear from you Barbie and now that I think of it you would have had to come East to visit me... got mixed up in my mind... maybe we will see each other down the road...

Soos you are sure getting things done and ready to head south... Tina did you get the insulation done? always jobs facing us... that's what is keeping us young...

I am getting very excited to see the Jayco on Sat... I may clean out my MH and drive it there... that would be a great thing then drive the Jayco home... but all is not finished yet... wish I could post pictures of the MH but do not know how to get them from e-mail to here...

My bout with what ever hit me is over I am sore but that goes with the territory... I fixed a good meal last night and that has fueled the fire again...

Drive safe and be happy...

Beautiful here again today. I spent most of yesterday morning looking for a dentist who does LANAP laser surgery. I was so happy to find they do have a new procedure for doing the periodontal work I need. but I wasn't happy to find the nearest one is in Louisville KY which is about 4 1/2 hour away. :( Not sure what I will do, but I saw a video and it didn't look bad at all compared to the old way. Is there nothing you can't find on the internet!!
Soos you should have paid the dentist and you could have saved the $60. you had to pay, he would have told you that information during your cleaning. More and more doctors and dentists require you pay up front and you send in the paper work and wait for the reimbursement. Can't really blame them I guess.
Good to hear from you Barbie I was wondering how the trip was going. Hope you get a good nights rest this evening.
