GOOD EARLY MORNING TO ALL!
I am subbing at the local elementary school today, so am up in the pitch dark as I have been doing forever until this year! Do I miss this hour of the day? NOT!!! I am looking forward to the stint with the young kids, however. I miss elementary school ages. I think if I had been allowed to get my Master's Degree, I would have chosen teaching 2nd grade, or possibly 3rd grade, as my life's work. I love kids this age. I hope I can find something decent to wear in my 'work' clothes section of my closet!
I spent a horrendous night having nightmare after nightmare, which makes me realize how stressed out I am over what I am doing by trying to haul my a&& to FL in my trailer! My nightmares involved not being able to get to work on time, not being able to find my clothes to get dressed, mice setting off my interior motion detectors from my alarm system that I am having installed on Wednesday, not being able to find the room where I must take a test, (hangover from college days---this is a recurring dream I have had forever, it seems) and on and on all night long! Sigh! At least my two alarm clocks I had set worked as they should! I KNOW I am happy about having retired now, however. Although not sure about what I wish to do with the rest of my life yet, I do know I don't want any more of these early morning scheduled 'have-tos!' My mind is telling me "ENOUGH" of this! I love the fact that I can go to bed with the sun setting and get up when the sun rises.
Molly, too, has gone back to bed, waiting for the sun, and wondering what on earth is up with me today!
Mandy and I got the paddleboat hauled out of the pond yesterday and ready to be covered with a tarp for the winter. I will buy a tarp tomorrow when I go to town for my dentist appointment. Even if it rains again, I can now bail it out on land, dry it off, and then cover by myself. The hauling it up the steep bank from the water is the hard part. It's a big paddler, holding 4 passengers. We also picked out some jewelry to put into the safe deposit tomorrow. Still more stuff to go through next weekend when she comes again. Still to do are cover the woodpiles, park my old camper in the shelter for the winter, finish bringing stuff from the leanto back up here, put lawn chairs away in the party barn, staple up the snow fencing/guard fence along my front deck so snow can be shoveled off it, move stuff away from the walls of the cellar so Wiley and Mandy and Joe can insulate that front exposed wall and the guy can install the detectors down there on Wednesday.
Today after school, one of my college roommates will arrive for a visit. She used to come up in the summers regularly, but, since she bought her own house, she hasn't been here in years! It will be a fun visit, but I wish I didn't have two things scheduled to do while she's here! Oh well----we will have time to chat and visit.
Thank you all for the pep talks and wise advice! I so appreciate all the encouragement from a bunch of very wise women!
Coffee is hot now, so I will get me a cup and read the other posts. I also need to transfer some money from one bank account to my checking so I can pay for the alarm system this week. After that, I will get dressed and abandon Molly for the day. Here's hoping you all are having nicer weather now, and those of you on the road are having a fun time. Stop by and tell us about it!
