GREY, DAMP FRIDAY

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!
Kathy got home last night at about 1:30 am, as she called in the middle of the night (morning) and let the phone ring twice before hanging up when she got in----our plan to let me know she was safely there. I knew I couldn't get out of my sleeping bag fast enough to actually answer it! I hope she had a good flight---will find out today via email or phone call. We really had a wonderful, albeit short, time together. Visits are just too short these days.
The temperature is about 43 degrees here this morning, and I am attempting to get my wood fire resurrected. I need to bring in loads of wood today to replace what we burned while Kathy was here. It was rather cool for a southern CA girl!
Today is a laundry day, and back to sorting the house stuff, if the rain keeps up. There is still so much to do here before winter. I need to begin bringing the stuff back from the leanto sometime soon, too, I suspect. And haul the paddleboat out of the pond for the winter. I really need help to do that.
I hope all on the roads are finding better weather than what went through the Ohio Valley yesterday, and eventually hit NY City and Brooklyn. Strange, destructive weather has been the rule for this summer of 2010, for sure. Please keep an eye to the sky,
Wonderful news story about that little boy who wandered into an irrigation ditch on the Fourth of July and drowned. He was found, CPR begun, heartbeat resumed in an hour, body temp low, and, after keeping his body temp low for a couple of days, they rewarmed him, and he is FINE! Amazing things we are learning about the resiliency of kids' life these days. I love starting my day with this kind of a story.
Coffee is hot, so stop in and tell us about your day. There are so many goodies here to finish up, including one more pistachio muffin! Happy Friday to us all!
