CHILLY SATURDAY

GOOD MORNING ALL!

At just a tad above freezing here this morning, 33 degrees, it is nippy out there, to say the least! My electric heater had a workout last night as Molly and I slept very comfortably in the trailer. I hate to see this coldness happening. I do love fall with all of its colors, but fall also means hunting season when killers will be stalking our woods, and it means that snow won't be far behind. I still have tons to do before I figure on moving south for a while.

I got my new SPOT GPS gadget yesterday, and it WORKS!!! It sent a test message to me, my son, and my daughter----it texted them on their cell phones as well as leaving an email message on their computers, and it gave me an email message, as I still don't know how to get text messages on my phone (and I have no reception here anyway.) It didn't take long at all for it to find my position, and it sends those coordinates via email with a link to find me on a map in Google. I LOVE that it works! I could have really used it all these years hiking and cross-country skiing alone. Oh well----I have it now. There is a lot more it can do, and I will study it more today and in the days to come. I also need to learn how to read text messages on my phone, I guess!

I also deposited my incentive check from school, so I now have at least a slight amount of backup money for emergencies. As I have still been able to make my large loan payments, I will continue to finish that off and leave my money alone. Most of the interest has already been paid on the loan anyway, as there are only about two or three more payments to make on that. I like seeing some money in the bank very much----a comfort to know I have at least SOMETHING.

Now I need to order my Pressure Pro tire monitor, which I may be able to pay for with substituting money, at least in part. I have one day in the elementary school already scheduled for October 4th. Money coming in will be nice!

This morning I pick up my friend, Kathy, arriving from CA via Boston. She left late last night from CA, has about a 4 hour layover in Boston (poor girl) and will get here at about 10:30. She will be exhausted, so I will bring her a cup of hot coffee and one of my pistachio muffins! Molly is staring me down for her breakfast, so off I will go to do some last minute chores here. I hope all on the roads are having a good day, and that GTG in Arkansas will be a fun time. I hope to see pics from that.

Coffee is hot, so stop by and update us on what is going on in your life. Happy Saturday to all!

good morning ladies
its good to get some serious computer time as I'm the only one in the computer room here at my
clubhouse. I will definately enjoy getting caught up a little on you girls.
Soos, any chance you could post a link to your little gadget? It sounds very interesting.
Have been working my tail end off at work, they gave me a wheel chair kid for my morning run
which means I have to use a lift bus in the morning and then my regular one in the afternoon.
Extra work for me cause then I have two buses to maintain, :x but the kid is a delight, high school,
regular ed but with some muscle or nerve thing going on, the doctors don't know yet. He actually
used to be on the football team but is now in a wheel chair.
Our weather here has finally broke and we're seeing nicer temperatures for night and early morning.
It feels so good. Was out early this morning pulling all the weeds in the yard, it looks good and I'm
even thinking of getting my planters planted with something, just don't know what yet.
Off to read up on some more posts and then back home to get my laundry started. Enjoy your saturday
and for me....I'm remembering 911 and watching the specials on tv today. Hugs to everyone and
be safe.

Good Morning... we had a small rain last night maybe 1/2 inch we need much more than that as again the ground is cracking...

Soos enjoy your visit with your friend... Ava oh that is a pain to change busses during the day and they usually need fueling up and cleaning out... I remember those days well... but I never used the wheel chair busses...

Not sure what today will bring except I must run the vacuum... the rest will fall in place in time...
Drive safe all you headed to ARK GTG and the rest staying home maybe we will see lots and lots of pictures...

Morning all - and yes, it's still morning here. I'm in Clarksdale, MS - have been going since 7:30 - doing not much of anything. Emptied my water storage tank again - still trying to get the disinfectant smell out of it - so emptied, refilled, emptied and refilled. I think it's ok now. We shall see. If I don't like it will do it more in AR. At least I feel that the tank is really clean. I like to do that if I haven't been using it as much - like whenever I sit anywhere for any long period of time - because I DO use it a lot when I'm traveling and boondocking.

There's a little lake here with all kinds of ducks, etc on it. Took pictures this morning. Will get them on my blog later today. It's raining now - I'm going to get showered and changed and go into town this afternoon to sightsee. One reason I'm staying here is I want to go to the Ground Zero Blues Club. I don't have the guts to go to the bar at night alone, but will during the day. And if I feel comfortable there - might go back for a bit tonight. It's a place I'd love to spend time at. What can I say - I grew up in Chicago, and love the blues.

Ava, it sounds like you have your work cut out for you this season - but that it's work that will make you feel good. I think you did the right thing changing and bidding on this route. I hope that boy can get back out of that wheelchair, but at least it sounds like he's kept a positive attitude and is going on with his life.

Have a great day everyone.
