FRIGID FRIDAY

GOOD MORNING ALL!

Two deer were at the apple tree this morning, and Molly was beside herself when one of them would stand up on her hind legs to pick apples off the higher branches! They are really fun to watch----unfortunately, my camera is still at the pond. I need to go get that today.

My friend, Kathy, does have a lung cancer---adeno-carcinoma. She is having a PET scan today to determine if the cancer has spread anywhere else in her body. I am hoping it will show nothing but the localized lung thing. Her plans to visit still haven't changed, and I will pick her up at about 10:30 tomorrow morning in our local airport. I hope she has a decent flight from CA. She has a long struggle ahead of her, as we all know, thanks to Sparkle. But it can be done, as we also know, thanks to Sparkle.

I got my incentive money check yesterday afternoon!!! It's about time! So I will head into the bank this morning to deposit that, along with over 300.00 in coins I have rolled. Then I will do some last minute food shopping for Kathy and me. Other than that, I can think of nothing other than the usual cleanng/sorting chores which are endless. I tackled the underneath corner cabinet yesterday which was a real bit&^ to get into as it's so far back into the corner! I found three cases of Slim Fast diet cans, and a ton of single ones stashed back there! I haven't used Slim Fast in YEARS! All of those will get dumped, if not tomorrow on the way to the airport, then next weekend.

Hope for some warm sunny days for Kathy and me this coming week, so we can get outside and get some fresh air. The following week I won't have my trailer, as they will be working on the refrigerator and inspecting it for my winter trip.

I hope all is well with you, and I hope to see some pictures of that GTG in Arkansas which is this weekend! Everybody drive carefully, and be sure you STOP if you need to use your phones. No texting or talking while driving for any of you, do you hear me??

Off I go to read the posts and my email, then head to town. Temperature is 46 here this morning, so I stoked up the woodfire in here and it really feels good!

Happy Friday!

Finally we had a good slow rain for several hours, the first since June! It is still cloudy and cool this morning so hope we get more, a lot more!
I have a pear crisp for breakfast for anyone who can do sweets in the morning, made from pears from our tree. We finally had a year that the critters didn't beat me to them or a freeze didn't zapped the blossoms. I made it for a high school friend who called and said she and her DH were in town and would stop to see us yesterday afternoon. Well she call about the time they were to arrive and said they decided to do something else and could they come today. I was not happy but said cheerily sure tomorrows fine, give a call first. ;) ha, like I'll answer the phone I love caller ID.
Safe journeys to all on the road I know several are headed toward the GTG!
Sounds like fall has definitely arrived at your place Soos. So sorry to hear about your friend.

Morning all from my local independent coffee shop, so many yummy goodies! I'm sticking to my latte for now. :D

Gosh, summer is short in your neck of the woods Soos.

I'm catching up this week in anticipation of Carter Lake trip next week. There's a new post on my blog about my DD and DGD visit to CA.

We are in our wood cutting phase now. I help my Dad as much as possible, but it's such hard work. No chain saw for me. Those days are gone! :)

Good travels to all my pals on the road today! Looking forward to reading all about the gtg!!!

Good Morning a nice almost fall day here in Normal... it will be 72 today... I love all of the seasons but in my older years like 70s the best...

My 4 drawers are all ready to put back in the wardrobes and put clothes away... when I took the last one out the bottom had fallen out and wa la there was my swimming suit... had lost it... hopefully that will not happen again... the pictures went good yesterday so I ordered 5x7's for the kids and 3x5's for the grandkids and 6 wallet sized... I thought it was time to give them an updated picture the last one I gave them was before I quit dying my hair when I turned 65 so now that it is white they all can have a remembrance of me now... My hair is much like my maternal grandmothers... my sister Wilma always loved my hair... her's was not easy to work with... she rolled it every night of her life... mine I just wash towel dry and it's ready to go...

I went to the store for a few things after that and by the time I got home it was 7PM... my how the day flew by...

Soos I am sorry about your friend... it will be a very long road for her... I have a friend who's son has leukemia he is 20 last week they gave him 5 kinds of kemo now they are waiting to see if his count is zero so he can have a bone marrow transfer... they have already lost one son to leukemia so this is very hard... he has been battling this for maybe a year or more... he is also a very good friend of my grandson Pete... where does this disease come from... it seems to hit everyone... my son in law and a few others put a whirl pool tub in their basement and fixed the basement up so he can have a get away from everyone... Soos I do hope she has many supporters she will need them...

Now what does today bring... I am not sure yet but will finish my coffee take care of the dishes and see what happens...
Have a great day everyone... drive careful all you hardy travelers...
Kathleen
