SPECTACULAR SATURDAY

Sunrise about an hour ago at the leanto! What a spectacular night down there last night. The moonrise and my fire were something to behold! I took a bunch of pictures, and will add them to Webshots later and then provide a link to them in this message, or somewhere else when I am finished.

I had forgotten just how comfy is my bed down there! I actually think it's the best bed I have in any location! Molly and I had a superb sleeping night as it cooled right down to where my heavy-duty sleeping bag felt just right. I decided to come up here to check the mouse cages and do the morning coffee posts before heading back down for the day. I remember now how confining houses feel after spending time outside, in touch with nature and all its glory. I used to hate to return to this house each day for doing the chores and getting Wiley's supper and spending time with him back in the old days. And he was chain smoking back then, so the air in here was abominable. Now I have no reason to come inside other than my own, and it feels really good! I guess freedom is hard to win and feel as if it's deserved, but I am beginning to feel that way now. My life's schedule is now mine and mine alone! Wow!! Of course, I do miss having another human to share the beauty with, but hardly a one ever saw life as I do, anyway. I guess the kids did when they were young and everything was awesome to them. I remember those days with a huge fondness and happy memories. Now, if I could share the beauty with some grandkids......!!

No plans for today, other than paddling around the pond, and perhaps cutting some more branches away from the road down there. I made a dent in that chore yesterday. Then, perhaps doing some crossword puzzles, writing in my journal, which I have been keeping down there in summers since the kids were little, and walking some of the trails I haven't had the time to explore in a long time.

I am hoping Mary's fire is now out, and that Liz is with Carol until she can get her rig back all fixed up. I am so disappointed that I will not get to see her up here this fall, and was even hoping I might be able to follow her back to FL. But things happen, and the best laid plans of mice and men......

Off we go back to the beautiful Adirondack outdoors! I hope the rest of you are as happy doing whatever as I am today. Happy Saturday!

What a spectacular sunrise picture that is, Soos! Thank you, I needed that!

I am safely at Carol's and will stay here until my RV is repaired hopefully next Wednesday. Carol is going to be sick of me & the menagerie pretty soon. The pets are enjoying all the room to run around in her house, and they are doing a lot of running back and forth. Then Roe ate some grass and threw it up on Carol's living room carpet this morning. One of the dogs found the litter box and scattered litter on the bedroom floor. I'll be vacuuming Carol's house today.

I haven't decided yet what to do when the RV is fixed. My leaning right now is to slink home and lick my wounds, but God is good, so I know like the sunrise, joy comes in the morning.

Hope everyone enjoys a safe and fun day.

You know Liz, they always tell you to get back on the horse. I say you already have spent the money to get this far, it is either continue northeast or at the very least (or the most!) head out with Carol towards AR.....and get your travel legs under you again.

Good-morning !! What an absolutely gorgeous sunrise Soos !!!! I had to laugh at Liz's post, her pets aren't going to hurt this house. She might get a little put out with me, I don't have company often enough, (reads-hardly ever), so I have forgotten my hosting skills. Hopefully we can come up with things to do, where she doesn't get too bored before she gets the call, her ride is ready. Actually its so nice to have her here, when we both get off our pc's, we have a few errands we need to do, and whatever comes up after that. Vacuuming can wait, besides, I can't stand to hear one run, I have to be the one to be using it, or drives me crazy, so she's out of luck there :)

Thanks for the help Tina, on travel plans to Ark. I can't imagine anyone with any kind of opportunity to go to that one, wanting to miss it. But I also know how she feels about going home and licking her wounds so to speak, I have felt like that myself, MANY TIMES. I won't hound her about it, because right now, her situation is so far from a joking or laughing one, she will come to her own conclusions in time.

I have no particular plans in store today. Many things to do, but no plans. It really is nice to have LIz here, otherwise, it would be just Maggie and me and she doesn't converse very much, kind of on the silent type   We can always play Farkle, or hand and foot. I found dice in the house, but cards are way to old, need new ones. All my playing stuff is in my fun home, (the one on wheels) and its in the shop, hopefully getting AC fixed. She taught me Farkle, when we were biding our time in the park up where my brake situation was, waitng for the brake lines to come in. I won a few games, beginners luck.

Ava, I saw you were on, so glad to hear work is going good. Have really missed you, hope you're back on soon. i know all about budget stuff, mine is so messed up right now, Wow !! Reminds me, have some more bills to put in mail today, best get off of here.

Have a great day everyone, Stay safe, but have fun too.
CArol

Good Morning

Soos, thank you for that lovely image to start my day.

Liz - If Carol throws you out, you are welcome to come back to AL and hang out as long as you like. Our weather has improved a lot in the short time since you were here. Still toasty but the oppressive heat and humidity combination seems to be gone. Am hoping you will go to the AR gtg too. Good thing cards are not at Carol's house; if the two of you practiced for next couple of weeks the rest of us wouldn't stand a chance.

I started cleaning on a dusty little corner around here yesterday. How on earth do we seem to add to stuff with such ease and find it so difficult to dispose of it later? Need to do much better on that today; so far I have only one tiny bag to throw away and an equally tiny one for donation. That means other things got dusted and put back. Putting stuff back was not the goal for this task.
My driveway needs cleaning again too. May tackle that since the heat is not likely to kill me this time.

Hope everyone has a safe and fun day ahead.

(((((((((HUGS))))))))) Liz I understand you might want to go home and regroup but I hope you decide to stay and come to the GTG. Sounds as though the little ones have the house all broken in so now everything will settle down.

Good morning everyone. Finally had a few minutes where I could get on line. Life with the carnival is busy now. We have 10 days to go here in Salem, OR and then we head to Puyallup, WA for the BIg Puyallup Fair which goes from the 10th to the 26th of September. Can't believe we are down to the last month of working/traveling with the carnival. After the fair ends there is about a one week tear down and then we are off to Lewiston, ID to see the grands, d-i-l and son for a couple of weeks.

Then we have to figure out what we are going to do for the winter and forward. Joined Workkamper News to see if we can find a job that way. If you have any ideas or suggestions, feel free to pass them on to us. You can always private email me or comment on my blog (use the link below).

Soos, loved the picture this morning. How glorious!

Liz, will have to go back and read a few posts to see what is going on with you. Glad that you are with a friend during this trial. Trusting things will look up for you soon.

Well, need to get ready for work so had better get off here. Hope everyone has a great day!

good morning ladies
its good to see familiar faces again, its been such a busy week and between work and the
heat, I was wiped out the end of each day. They added a wheelchair to my morning schedule
so now I have two buses to manage each day, one for the morning and one for the afternoon.
Had to set both of them up for what I need and not have to transfer everything back and
forth each morning. Seems to make me so much more tired at the end of the day. They are
trying to make me believe its only temporary but I know better, they can't fool me, I've been
there too long and know how they do things. Sometimes being the best can come back and
bite you in the end, and I say that with humor not anger. The wheelchair bus makes my
leg really sore, as the brake pedal is a really hard one. I'm gonna end up with a great big
bulge on my thigh that will look like a weight lifter misplaced one leg  for now the soreness
makes my legs feel like jelly. But all in all, the good news is that it appears I'm getting good
hours this year, 38 to 40. If that keeps up I'll have my bills caught up in a couple months.
Ok ladies, as much as I'm enjoying this, there are a few folks that came in and waiting to use
a computer so guess I'll not be stingy, I need to get to the store anyway while its still on the
cool side. Our weather has finally broke and its only in the 90's this weekend, think I'll have
to dig out a sweater for this cold front  I'll try and check back in this evening.
Enjoy your day and everyone be safe.

Good to hear from you, Ava. I fully understand what you mean by doing a good job and then having other jobs thrust upon you! I think that's one reason I backed out of most of the groups I belonged to. It always seems the same few do all the work.

Liz, your latest adventure is so similar to my dreams where my vehicle is going faster and faster and I'm pushing on the brake as hard as I can. I can't emagine experiencing that for real. Praise God you nor anyone else was hurt! Take as much time as you need to settle yourself. As much as you like traveling I feel you will be back on the road soon. Baby steps.....

Nothing on my agenda today. Kids/parents are getting ready for a new school year. Our little city's streets will be less crowded to drive with the teenagers in school, but watch out when school lets out!! Talk about a traffic jam on Main St!

Got a text from my DD. She flew home from Disneyland yesterday and works the flight back today (she's a flight attendant), that brings the rest of her family and the GDs two little friends home. Sounds like they had a super time. My SIL is always up for taking the kids and their friends places.

It's 10AM here and my furnace just kicked on again. The temp in my backyard was near 40 earlier. Forecasting frost in the eastern part of the state already.

Wishing everyone a happy, safe day!

My son had to go help a friend this morning so he dropped me at a large Flea Market for a couple of hours. I only spent $3 on some blown glass pendants. There was a large Amish market that had all kinds of baked goods, cheese and meats plus crafts. I didn't buy anything before he got back to pick me up and the line to pay was too long or we would have cakes and cookies that I don't need. Everything looked so good. He took me by the store that sells Amish furniture. It's a good thing there isn't one near me or I would have some of it. It's beautiful furniture.
