May your morning be as beautiful as a butterfly on the Blue Ridge and sweet as nectar!

I also have some fresh wild blueberries and blackberries to share for your breakfast cereal. I'm up before the crack of dawn....and off to see what else might be.

GOOD MORNING EARLY-RISING LIZ AND ALL!

What a beautiful picture to begin my day here in the grey, overcast, rainy morning in the Adirondacks!

It's already up to 64 degrees out there, with scattered light showers......not a bad morning at all. The forecast for this upcoming weekend and week sounds like summer! It will be a perfect time to spend in the leanto and on the pond. I will try to access a computer at least once a day back up here at the trailer. I will call the kids' grandmother today to see if she would like to come up and spend some time at the cabin at the pond, and tell her I will help her get it set up for living, if I am able to remember how to set up the batteries, the converter/inverter thing, and the water pump. The worst job will be cleaning up all the Decon baits and dead mice in that place. I refuse to deal with that. If she's willing to do that and vacuum up all the crap from that poison, I will attempt to do the rest. She can use my Yamaha generator right from the back of my truck to run things and charge her batteries. My Honda generator is already in my leanto to keep my TV battery up and charged.

Paulette, that Rock Crusher Canyon RV Park looks like a neat place to stay! Everything is included in their fees, which I like. I will have to check that place out when I get down there. It appears that we will have quite a large group spending the winter in FL this year! We can certainly have our share of GTGs, and I will bring the ORS banner with me! We also need one for those who aren't ORS members, but who are members of the Women RV group.

With the rain on and off today, I guess I will spend another day sorting through stuff in the house and the cellar. I wish I had my kids to help me, Kathleen, but one is in FL and the other is back teaching her college classes. Sooooo.....I am pretty much on my own here. I think I will tackle the cellar today, pulling out anything that hasn't been used in years (except for my tents, which I intend to keep) and freeing up the outside walls that Wiley says will need to be insulated for this winter. I would also like to finish painting the cement floor with the paint I got for it years ago and started laying down. There is also a lot of stuff in the 'cold room' that needs to get dumped----like the canned pear sauce I made for Mandy when she was a baby ! Also a lot of old beer left over from the days we had huge 4th of July parties here....all that stuff needs to get dumped, as I am not going to empty those bottles and jars and other stuff. I have plenty to do, for sure!

Coffee is hot, so stop by and let us know about your day and your plans. Liz's blog is always such fun to visit to see where she is and what she's doing! Happy to hear that Carol made it back home safe and sound, and that perhaps her AC problem is only a fan malfunction.

Happy Thursday to everyone!

Good Morning All
Liz, thank you for the wonderful image this morning. Makes my being up way too early a bit more bearable.
I'm on second day of not sleeping well. Think I'm stuck in a cycle of worrying about too many things I have no control over and a period of inertia that is not allowing me to take care of those things I could be doing. Hate it when that happens but know it will pass in a few days.
We are finally getting break from the oppressive heat and humidity. Actually feels relatively comfortable outside so far this AM. That should help motivate me to get moving and accomplish something today.
Am daydreaming about finding a way to spend some more time in FL this winter. If there is a gtg, would want to do that for sure; hopefully without the long johns this time. Trying to decide if I'd like to make a month long trip out of such or make two different trips of a couple weeks each. FL is just so expensive in winter; hard to convince myself to spend that much.
Guess I need to get started on a plan for the day before it gets away from me again.
Wishing all a good day.

Started a response once but the dogs asked me to stop and give them some breakfast..... Sarah, we need to find you a rig that will work for you. Still cost you money but a lot more fun! Hope the sleep cycles wind back to normal soon and you mind sorts out where to spend its energy......Knowing that it will doesn't help the exhaustion and frustration when you are in the middle of it. Good thing you have patience.....

I was awake very early this morning too. Long enough that I got to see that beautiful moon in the before sunrise sky! All I could think was how it would look out above a still lake as we should be sitting in our kayaks with a thermos of hot tea listening to the world wake up...... Then I let the dogs back inside and went back to bed. Beautiful cool sleeping weather :D

Morning...for some unexplained reason I had nightmares last night. I haven't had a nightmare in a long long time and these were very unsettling and unwelcome. Let's hope that was the last.

Liz, what a beautiful morning and those blueberries and blackberries sure look good! Love the butterflies!

I've been doing lots of research for a good spot to spend the winter this year, and think I may have found what I'm looking for, or at least their web site portrays what I'm looking for. It's called Rock Crusher Canyon RV Park in Crystal River, FL. Looks like a big park, has lots of wooded big sites and a good bit of recreation there and in the area. I need to be able to provide opportunities for the GD to be educated and entertained. I need to investigate it a bit more, but will need to make a decision and make a reservation soon. I've been kind of holding out to see if I actually trade in the A for a C. I love the A, but feel like GD and I will each need our own space come this winter, so something with a bed over the cab and a bed in the back will probably work better for us. So, I intend to go to the Hershey RV show next month and see what I can do.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day. And thanks, Liz, for taking us along on your journeys!

Paulette, you can check with Bikerchik (Linda) about Crystal River. She stayed there (not sure if the same CG) last winter, and I also have a girlfriend who lives in Crystal River, who I can get more info for you on that park and the area.

Buster crashed again at 1am. Spent an hour cleaning him up (diarrhea), the cage, and getting him back to normal with meds, Karo syrup and duck soup. He is better this morning. However, while I was tending to Buster, Moxy snuck out of the cage and got out on the porch. This morning tI found the porch a total mess! He had gotten into a bag of potting soil and spread it all over the porch! He was only out there for 5 minutes or so when I discovered him out there. It was dark so I didn't see the dirt all over until this morning.

Got a long 9 hour day at work today  Tomorrow I go to the State Fair for the day! Can't wait!

Good Morning...
Oh Liz a wonderful peaceful wake up you gave us... love butterflies... Oh thinking of blackberries brought back memories of long ago when I would get up early go out in the dew filled grassy field and pick some for breakfast... that was one treat that was a good memory... so good! but you know I did not get up at that hour today glad you did so we could see that pretty picture...

It was 57 when I woke up this morning... will be in the high 70s... sure is winding down will love the cool mornings and evenings that come with the end of summer...

Oh Bluepinecones those nights are so hard and they make the days even longer... wish when I was young I knew they would pass but then I thought the doldrums would last for ever... my sister that died this spring used to have very bad spells of depression when she was young... that was one time I could care for her instead of the other way around... I miss her...

Soos you are a busy lady... all I have done this morning is start the dish washer and make coffee... my night was awful what ever the physical therapist did stirred up things something awful... will use an ice bag on it... this to shall pass :D

Sometimes as I look at the posts we leave they seem to be the best part of us and the worse part of us... sharing with friends we hope to meet but may never have the chance to... I think that is simply wonderful... kind of like a flower unpicked...

I trust you all will have a great day and smile often... come visit me I could use the company...
Kathleen

On the other end of the spectrum - I slept 12 hours last night. (Peaches is so good - slept that 12 hours with me). Was super exhausted and let my body sleep as much as it wanted to. Now, I'm not even doing the errands I had planned for today (although I might change my mind on that later). Just being a bum. Well, intend to get some internet work done - but mainly going to read some more books to get them OUT of this rig!

Feels good to have the towing stuff all done - not having to worry about it. Will sit down soon and write down checklists for myself - most importantly putting a big note on the dashboard: NO REVERSE! hahaha - I'm so good at little roads and turning around, and reversing to do so - no more. That's a thing of the past! I know I'm going to have to unhitch and rehitch sometimes out of my own foolishness - but for some of those places, it'll be worth it.

Liz, I love your butterfly pics - enjoy every one of them.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Well I'm sitting on the Blue Ridge waiting for Good Sams ERS...I'll be able to let you know how I like their service. I have very little/spotty cell service (Tracfone) but able to get online with Verizon Aircard. There may be a erizon cell phone in my future. Couldn't get a call through to ERS, but was able to get through for a minute to Carol....she called Good Sam for me. Now I can't call her back to see what they said....maybe she'll Email me. But the Ranger said he heard on the radio a tow truck is coming for a disabled vehicle.

Think I damaged my transmission. I was following a pilot vehicle through construction and my gas pedal stuck. The only way I could keep from ramming the pilot car was by throwing the RV into neutral/reverse/park! Had to do that several times before being able to pull over. Now it will go, but makes an awful noise, so am having it towed. It's 25 miles to the nearest exit. Don't know if I'll continue my trip or not....I'll keep you posted.

Yeah, in the sense that I didn't go flying off the side of the mountain! Praise God for keeping me safe! Not sure, but think my new floor mat may be what caused the accelerator to stick in the first place...out it goes. I was too busy trying to control the rig to figure out what the matter was.

Liz, you're safe, that's the most important part, for sure. Had my last van do that - luckily before I hit a HOUSE I remembered the parking brake - which stopped me on a dime. Not sure why or how I remembered that - but it worked and I had no other damage. I'm hoping you have minor damage also. Will be hoping they can get you back on the road easily - whichever direction you end up going.

So glad you are safe.

Hi Everyone, It has not been the best of days, but no one is hurt, plenty flustrated, but that will pass(I hope). Do you know how many people who have never heard of the "Blue Ridge Parkway"? Well, I got ahold of one at ERS, trying to explain where LIz was. She finally found it, on the map, Bless her. Anyway, she was really nice, made me feel sorry for those who know nothing of our country and all we have to see out there.

I couldn't call LIz, to talk so tried an email. My Internet would not stay up. Took over 2 hrs. with a tech to fix me again, never had a problem till I tried 3 times to send emails to Liz, so she would know I had called and what I had found out. What a helpless feeling to have, knowing how flustrated she must be getting as time went on.

I took my r.v. in to get AC fixed, this morning, hopefully its only the fan, which is what initial exam showed. My house is a mess, REALLY, from what I thought I might need from r.v. before I get it back. I don't keep doubles of so much stuff. :o I dumped it all in living area, and then been setting here at computer with house ph. , cell ph. and chatting with tech on pc. Sometimes doing both at once. Old brain didn't do to bad doing that, so something to be thankful for :)

Have an app. to have Maggies nails clipped at 5:45 and pick up meds for our trip west. Have mine already. So some things are going right, just hate so bad, Liz has her problems. waiting to hear from her, if she wants me to go up with her, wait with her or bring her back here to wait, whatever.

Hope you all have had better days, then here, but it will be good soon.
Take care and stay safe everyone,
CArol
