WETTER MONDAY!

GOOD MORNING ALL!

I remember the day our music died, back in Feb. of 1959, and we sure did lose three wonderful musicians back then. It was a very sad time.....the first time for me that I can remember losing someone famous whom I loved. "All I want is a Party Doll" still can bring back some very poignant memories, including my mother's wondering why on earth I liked that particular song----I guess she was afraid I was wanting to be a 'party doll' although those words didn't mean to me what they meant to her, I suppose!

I was sorry to miss the bluegrass festival, Carol, but I really had to get to the doc and have it out with him. I will call again today and make sure he changed my prescription to the lesser of the two doses of that new medication, and this time I will try it during the daytime when I can keep track of what it does to me. I suppose, if it lowers my BP to where it should be, I will go with it. Although the past two days it has been very acceptable for me. It would be fun to have you at the musics fests next year!

We had a very noisy and wild night of very heavy rains, heavy winds, and this trailer was a rockin' and a rollin'! So far today it's raining softly now, and the winds have abated. More thunderstorms have skirted us, for which Molly and I are very thankful!

In the rain yesterday, I managed to go through just one bureau/dressing table of the set in my upstairs bedroom. I found so many lost/saved treasures that I got all wrapped up in going through them all! I even found a set of baby clothes that my mother had saved that had been mine as a newborn. Also found 3 years worth of old yearbooks from high school which brought back many happy memories as well as sad ones to realize that some of my friends from back then who had signed it are no longer alive.

I talked to my son who had received thier first electric bill after living in their new house for 34 days now, and, although he held his breath when he opened it, he was pleasantly shocked to see that, although the temperatures haven't been below 100+ degrees for the entire month, they owe only 110.00 dollars! That's a huge savings from the old house, which is way smaller but has a way older AC unit in it. He said they have been very comfortable inside in this hot spell, so they are both ecstatic about that bill. I guess when I move down to the old house, I will need to upgrade that AC unit which is over 30 years old now. Electricity is their only utility bill now, as there is no natural gas in that area and their garbage pickup and taxes and insurance are figured into their mortgage payments. They both breathed a huge sigh of relief when they discovered they can well afford it! They also got a Verizon internet card for their computer service, thanks to the advice of you all, and are finding out how much (time/band space/whatever) they will use of that before they send me any updated pics of the new house. Melissa gets a 10% discount for the card as a public employee for Orlando, so they pay a total of 60.00 permonth, taxes and fees included. They think they really need unlimited service, but Verizon said no way to that. Hopefully, they will discover they will have more than enough to use it as they need to or want to. I know they don't download any movies.

I guess I will go back to the upstairs bedroom, after I go to Kinney's to get my new prescription filled, and start going through the next bureau up there. I know there are clothes in that one I haven't worn in years! I also need to call that storage unit company to inquire about prices for such a service.

How about those little warning icons that flash up on your dashboard about your car! I have never seen the low tire one on this new truck, but I know the 'door ajar' icon looks like a penguin to me! I am wondering who designs those little thingies!

It's late, as I wanted to sleep through the torrential rains, and, of course, avoid any house work and sorting through 'stuff'!! I hope we all have a great Monday.

Good morning from Santeetlah Lake in North Carolina.

Unfortunately, this is not the view from our campsites, which are at the top of a steep embankment from the lake and behind trees. I would have to drive a ways to the boat launch to kayak this lake, and probably won't do that.

I'm staying here with Carol while she awaits parts to finish her brake job, although she was safe to drive this far. The parts should be here tomorrow morning, so when they arrive, I will escort her to the shop. Don't know what her plans are exactly, but she may go home to get her AC fixed from there. I will continue my journey to the NE via the Blue Ridge.

Hope everyone has a good day....it looks like it will be beautiful here today. Happy birthday to you, Sparkle!

Good luck with your BP meds Soos.
It is a lovely cool morning here, hoping it holds so I can go to yoga class. I love my Monday yoga class especially, I go on Sat. too but most everyone in the Monday class are friends and several of us usually go out to lunch.
I'm thinking of selling my Macbook as it has been nothing but a royal pain since the beginning. I think I've mentioned it has been replaced three times already in the year or so I've had it. My Dell desktop is now several years old so the plan is sell the Macbook and get a new Dell desktop and a new MacPro laptop. Then I think maybe of doing the reverse as a new desktop i Mac is about the same price as the laptop and has an 18 1/2 inch screen and it's a really pretty design.
Of course then my mind takes on a new direction and that little voice on my shoulder says hello you have real estate taxes and auto insurance coming due soon.
The dogs are starting to have that feed me look so guess I'd best get to work.
Have a great day all and safe journeys to those on the road.

Good Morning everyone... it is in the mid 60s this morning going to be in the high 80s to maybe 90 today... nice sunshine and gentle breeze... now Soos I heard different stories about the rock n rollin trailer....

Have a semi busy day here... physical therapy late morning then home to start cleaning... this job has been sadly neglected since Jackie went home in July... getting ready for the garage sale and all...

Oh, Soos remember how I struggled with the sorting well maybe you need one of your kids to come and help... they are more objective and go faster... when Jackie came it only took two and a half weeks working maybe 2 to 3 hours a day and not every day at that... we got things all cleaned out... I did keep my year books though... after all the infamous Jim Baker was in my class couldn't throw his picture away!... guess he has gotten his life cleaned up... sure hope so...

I want to be able to use my Wii again soon this arm is slowing that process up...

I have finished my oatmeal mmm mmm it was good... and need another cup of coffee before I get on the road...

May you all have a great day... Liz that picture captures such a peaceful scene... glad you are staying with Carol while her MH gets fixed...

I fell down yesterday evening - was taking garbage to the dumpster and as I was lifting the bag up, a handle broke. I tried to grab the bag to keep things from spewing and while successful doing that, it caused me to twist my ankle and go down. I have a very swollen ankle, very painful last night. Kept it elevated, with ice for a few hours, then took some tylenol and went to bed. I'm able to hobble around today - and don't believe I broke anything. From when I broke the other ankle, I still remember most of the exercises I had to do after It lost much of it's range of motion - so will start doing those as soon as the swelling is down and I can.

Last night, before falling, I had a fire and burned lots of old documents, etc - that I just decided it was time to get rid of. Older tax returns, my old papers from houses I had owned, etc. That cleared out another box that had been at my friends house. The tax returns I kept will stay with me, and now, each year, when I file a new one, the oldest will get tossed (at least that's my good intentions).

I still have way too many books that I believe will be coming with me. but have gotten rid of many. And have several bags that will go to a used book store tomorrow. Still have things to scan into my computer.

Including a few pics from my hs yearbooks. I put on Facebook yesterday to give them to any of my classmates who might want them and immediately had 2 responses. First one won. So I'll be shipping them off to California after I get some pages scanned next week. They've been in storage for so long, and I rarely look at them. Funny though, I kept them all these years - and I HATED hs. lol - I was reading over what people wrote in them, and many who wrote, I have no idea who are. That's depressing, isn't it? But I was from a gigantic class.

Today is Jean's bday and I got shrimp for our dinner. Cold - with shrimp cocktail - yummy. Going to sit out at a picnic table by the water and enjoy it late this afternoon.

Oh, Beth.... it only takes a moment to remind us how fragile our bodies can be! Heal fast....
