TUESDAY WITH TONS O' SUNSHINE!

GOOD MORNING ALL!

The sun is coming up in a clear sky, and it's 52 degrees outside this trailer. It looks like a fine summer day for the Adirondacks.

Lily and Hope, the bears, are still together, with Hope foraging on her own and returning to Lily for comfort and physical contact craved by a baby for its mother. I was afraid something scary might happen during the week I couldn't get on the internet, but all is still going smoothly. It's been such an intriguing, educational experience for me to learn about bears that share this property with me.

I actually took an afternon nap yesterday-----I NEVER take naps! I guess I was more tired than I thought I was! If it gets warm enough and dry enough when the dew dries off, I will make this a day to begin staining my house----at least as far up as I can reach on my little ladders with a roller brush. I still get very dizzy due to my Meniere's disease, or whatever it is that is causing those inner ear disturbances that make the world spin, so I need to be very careful on ladders. I will have to move some wood on this side of the house to even set up a ladder.

While waiting for the dew to dry, I will call a couple of house alarm companies to see what they would charge to install a system here. One will be ADT, and another will be a local company. There is so much for me to do before I decide about my wintering plans. I hate it when there is so much to think about you don't know where to begin, and then you just do nothing at all! Or, I start to do one thing, see another that needs doing, change to address that, and on and on with tons of projects started and none finished! ACK!

Coffee tastes extra good this morning, and the hot cup feels good on my cold hands. C'mon in and sit a spell as you begin your day.

I hope you all have a good day, whatever your plans may be. Don't forget that there are still a bunch of good camping days left, and I have tons of room to park any sized rigs! I would love to see more of you who might be able to get here. I am keeping my porta potty for the rest of this month as well.

Happy Tuesday!

Good morning Soos, and all who come in after,

It's lightly raining here on Lake Guntersville. Beth and I have planned an early morning kayaking....don't know if that will happen unless the rain stops soon.

We had a nice GTG with 5 of us here last evening: Jean (Sparkle), Beth, Carolinagal, Sarah (bluepinecones) & me. Too bad I goofed & deleted the group photo. We'll be sure to get another today after Sarah arrives. Beth will take Jean to an appointment later today; Carol and I will try to redeem our reputations in another card game with Sarah. We had shrimp last night; tonight is take-out Chinese.

Jean told us this flower was not a Morning Glory....so I looked it up 'cause I couldn't remember what she said it was. She's right, but it is in the Morning Glory family:
Image
Wild Potato Vine - Ipomoea pandurata
This low growing vine is a native member of the Morning Glory family as evidenced by the shape of the flower. The heart shaped leaves and large white flowers make this an easy identification. These bloom in early to late summer.

Sitting here in Ohio and missing all of you down AL way! Got an e-mail,,,,the kayak has been shipped :D :D .....Herschel is doing a happy dance he just doesn't know why yet. It doesn't take much to make him happy  After looking and reading and thinking and looking again and reading more reviews and looking again....you get the idea :? I took the jump for the model that a large dog would sit in comfortable like and that a second person could ride in if someone wanted to join in the water fun. I still may purchase one of the inexpensive, lighter weight, smaller ones for flat water, but this one will do it all including whitewater.....I especially liked the video of the kayak being used as a sled in snow! Figured that if it did all that it had a fairly good chance to survive whatever the dogs and I did to it. Now unless everyone travels with a life jacket in their storage compartment....I am thinking that I need to purchase a second jacket for inviting guests... :) We always find room in the rigs for important things. Sort of like the motorcyclist that carries the second helmet... Will post pictures when it arrives :=) Off to the rehab facilities. SM had me put a deposit down on the new Assisted Living place yesterday. Need to find the movers she wants to use. I have been doing a lot of running, doc appt for her and such but it will be so worth it. And I am sooooo ready to leave town in Sept. :D :D

No sun here today. Everytime I awoke during the night, I could hear the patter of rain on the roof. Awoke to silence, so met up with Liz, and we did a quickie kayak ride in the clouds. There was no lightening or thunder we could see - so figured worst that we'd have is we'd get wet. Came back when I looked behind me and saw clouds darkening and could tell it was raining in that direction. Got out, was walking back to my rig - and the skies started dripping. Since Liz leaves tomorrow, I'm glad we were able to get in one more quick kayaking trip.

Take Jean for her ct scan today to see how things are progressing. Then stopping to pick up Chinese dinner for everyone tonight on the way back.

Woohooo, Tina ordered her kayak. Hershel is dancing. What fun!

Thanks for looking that up Liz - and at least we were in the right family!

No rain here yet but there is some just off shore. I'm not sure which way it is going. Yesterday they were saying some places could get 12" of rain from depression #5 which won't get out of here. It doesn't look like it is going to be that bad.

Soos, you need to stay off ladders. Especially if you have inner ear problems that make you dizzy. My DH has that off and on and the last time he went to the doctor they told him to take Bonine, which is an over the counter medicine for motion sickness. Only problem was that stuff made him sleepy. He was sleeping in his recliner every time he sat down. I bet they make a paint roller with a telescoping handle.

Wish I could have made the mini GTG in Alabama, you guys are having a lot of fun.

Martha

Well..lets start the morning off....with 12 years ago today. Our little ball of sunshine joined our world. It is Kodie's 12th Birthday. Seems so old for my youngest to be 12 already. With all her challenges she faces...she is such a happy and fun girl 95% of the time.

Yesterday..i did work on the house for about an hour..then we packed up and headed to the lake...I forgot my camera. I seem to do that a lot for local trips. I thinking maybe I should get a simple point and shoots..but not sure I would like it as I love my SLR camera.

Soos..I joined the FB group for Hope and Lily..it has been fun to follow along on the blog and stuff. Thank You so much for sharing that.

The weather is sunny again...but the temperatures are returning to back down to normal summer temps. I have really enjoyed the hot summer days. I can say that this summer..as I have a AC house to retreat to after spending time outside. We do not keep the house super cool..we keep it about 75-76. That seems to be good a setting.

We have a camping trip planned this weekend. Then football game season will begin. Once I get the schedule we will be able to see if we can sneak in a Sept/Oct campout in.

Well I should get going..we have have play date at 10am.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KODIE, almost a teenager.

It's raining here for a nice change. Don't remember the last time it did, so will not complain, certainly not for the lower temps. Will be nice to resemble something other than a dried up old prune. ;) :D Will send this weather east so others can enjoy some cooler temps.

I will complain about my bathroom plumbing. Another leak and another hole in the ceiling. This really makes me hate home ownership. It's always something and not something one wants to necessarily deal with. Done whining for now. :D

to all, stay safe. Linda

I never had thought of that being the reason I am what I am, Barbie, but I believe you are right on! How neat to maybe have a reason for how I never get stuff done! However, if I once begin something, I tend to never quit until it is done, to the point of continuing way beyond exhaustion and necessity. It's the choosing of the activity that stymies me. Sigh-----I need to make a list and stick to it, I suppose!

That is called hyperfocusing, also an ADD trait. I am classic ADD (maybe a little hyper at times, too  ).

I've never considered myself ADD, but do some of the same things  A list does help sometimes, but sometimes I make a list, then don't look at it. I can think of a million things that need to be done. I've decided to try to focus on one at a time until it is done. I sure feel good when a job is complete :D My next job is washing and waxing Myrtle....at least washing  I got the roof done on Sun and hoped to do the rest today, but it rained all day. Maybe tomorrow...especially if I get relief for my aching back!
