MONDAY AT HOME!

GOOD MORNING BOB, PAULINE, AND ALL!

Home I am after a wonderful near-week of boondocking camping in acres of cow pastures in far-northern VT! We had sunshine and a good breeze each day, all day long for the entire time we were there----absoluteiy perfect weather, as far as I am concerned. The nights were cool, and the days were hot and breezy. Our awnings and the easy-up I set up near the bandstand kept us plenty cool. All the bands were great, the vendors were back, the firemen's dinner specials were pork, roast beef, and chicken dinners, along with the usual hamburgers and hot dogs and egg McMuffins. This group makes sure the porta potties are immaculate, as the companies dump and wash them several times a day. We camped in just about the same spot as last year, and we had the same neighbors! It was like old home week! Another couple, the parents of my daughter's best high school friend, joined us, too, in their popup! So it was old friends, Richard the roofer and his two teeny dogs, my friend, Laura and her dog, Tilly, Molly, and I making a 'neighborhood-on-wheels' with live music all day long. This was the best rest I have had since school got out, as I was not at home to see all the work that needs to be tackled here, and it helped me with Ruckus withdrawal!

Last Wednesday morning I took off about a half hour later than I had hoped I would, as my alarm was not set properly, (out of practice!)but arrived at the RV dealers' just in time to get my rig taken in to have the pneumatic door holder installed. They pop-riveted two heavy aluminum narrow plates at the top of both sides ot the door (hollow piece of nothing!) and then drilled to install the rod. What a wonderful thing that was to have been done, as I now no longer have to bungee open the door against the awning struts! We had some mighty strong winds up there in VT, and the door stayed open! (Pictures later) I am so glad I took the time to have that done properly.

I arrived at the festival about two hours later than Richard and Laura got there, and, as I was coming from the opposite direction of the visitors' center where they were waiting for me to meet them, I got in ahead of them! We got ideal spots to camp and hear the music right from our rigs.

I managed to read most of the postings last night after I deleted a bunch of email and paid some more bills online, but had no time to comment. I got back here at about 5:00 pm, and, as usual, it took me a bunch of time to get re-set up here. My trip home was way more uneventful than my trip down there, as I tried a new way to secure my 'stuff' to keep it from falling off the shelves and tables and causing a hideous mess all over the floor! Then it was time to take a hot, deep bath, wash my hair, eat some supper, and get to bed. We had thundershowers last night, off and on, (which is why I didn't stay over in VT one more night) but none really close to here. Another is skirting to the north of me right now.

I will later try to post pics, although I didn't take a lot of them. I really missed you all, but had no cell service or internet while there-----talk about withdrawal pains! Now it's back to the mundane chores of being a home owner!

Good Morning Soos and all... so glad to have you back I think we all depend on you setting the table for us... it is 73 this morning and will be 85 later... wow what a relief from the mid 90s and heat warnings...
I have therapy this morning so will be getting ready to go shortly... My body is very slowly healing... the pain after the exercises only lasted about 3 hours then it quieted down... Beth I think you are right!! but it will take so so long and I am not patient now... most of the time I have a lot of patience but not with pain...
I spent Sat getting more things out of my bedroom and closet for the garage sale this week... I looked on the internet for some things to be sure how to mark them... I have an awesome 21 cord Oscar Schmidt auto harp... on the net it shows the lowest price used $250 and the case $50 there are things like that that I will not lower the price much... I have $250 for all... my granddaughter said when you have items that are higher end you should go to Craig's list I hesitate to use that site because of all the scandal they always seem to have...
After therapy I will go to my daughters and begin marking things... the things I have left here are marked!! I won't know how to act with so many things gone and a real bedroom in the front with a rocking chair and all and the middle bedroom will be an office...
Oh yes my friend Jere the one in MI that has cancer has pneumonia I want to go north but it may be October before I can go...
Life is good...
I need to fix another cup of coffee then get busy... have a wonderful day everyone...

A beautiful day here in MN today! Mid 70's and sunny!

Have lots to do today to get ready for my move. I am wondering if anyone knows if I can open a PO Box in Palm Springs from here to forward my mail to while moving, until I get an address down there? Or any other ideas about where to forward my mail until I get settled? I won't forward it to my dad, since he reads all my mail

Morning!
Arrived in Vacaville safely after a 10 1/2 hr drive. My SIL is a good driver and made good time. He, my DD and DS all went for a motorcycyle ride this AM before my DS had to get to work at the ER. Kids will swim most of the day, grocery shopping is in order, too, as my DIL is still recovering from her surgery and hasn't been able to lay away much.
Oops, being called to go for a walk. Later!

It is another wonderful sunny day in the PNW...I think summer has finally arrived.
Today..I am going to get some bills paid, do a general pickup of the house and then I think we are going to head to the lake for a couple of hours.
I would skip the house..but since we spent last week getting ready for all the fair entries...we have tons of craft stuff and baking stuff still sitting out.
I was going to do it yesterday, but we got invited to friends to go swimming and BBQ and ended up staying until about 8pm. Like they say..the mess did not go anywhere..it is still here waiting for me.

I can not believe that August is 1/2 over at this point. I want to extended summer...I am not ready for fall/back to school/....I think in part..is because normally in the PNW our nicest months are Aug-Sept. I have said...school should go up to 4th of July, as June is always a yucky and rainy anyhow. Then have school start up in late Sept. I know you all are thinking..you homeschool most of your kids...while that is true. We end up following the PS schedule..otherwise I have kids knocking on my door.

Well I should jump off here and get started on some things. I did add some more of our trip to the blog last night. I am trying to get back on track with that. Plan to update each night...so hopefully by the weeks end..it will be all caught up. (the link is in my sig line)

We're here in Watkins Glen for a week, picking up our mail that we had delivered to tGM's cousin as well as the paddles that go inside the washing machine/dryer. I always try to do too heavy a load and new ones cost $13 each. So now definitely doing smaller, lighter loads more often. Not a big deal, since I can just put a load in and then go about my business. The weather is off and on but last night had dinner on one of the wharfs and today going for a family barbeque. Bob baked a blueberry pie using the ones we picked in Canada-Mmmmm! Was hoping to play some tennis, but by the time we were ready, it was way too hot. Enjoy the day. carold

So far we have had a fairly mild summer (for us), but this week is supposed to be back up into triple digits all week...dang! Just put a cake in the oven for the BF's b-day as per his request. I was sure he was gonna want a pie, but no, he wanted a German Chocolate cake. No big deal, I use a cake mix, but make the frosting from scratch. He's coming over tomorrow to help me trim a tree that hangs over the driveway so I can get Hope in and start making preparations to get under way. Yayyyy!! I'm taking him down to a casino near Escondido for his birthday dinner....Maine Lobster on the buffet. Evie and I found it on one of our casino excursions. Hope goes in on Thurs for new batteries. I was gonna do it myself until I found out that the 4 house batteries weigh 50# each and the 2 engine batteries weigh 60# each. Since you have to be on your knees to change them out I'm going to let Richardsons have the honor and save my knees and back. Hope everyone is having a great and safe day.
