MONDAY WITH POSSIBLE SHOWERS

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

MONDAY WITH POSSIBLE SHOWERS

Postby Nasoosie » Mon Aug 02, 2010 6:24 am

GOOD MORNING ALL!

This is the week of the Ruckus in the Mountains, and the sky is heavy, greyish, and the temperature is a good deal warmer. Scattered rain showers are predicted for this afternoon. Actually, rain is predicted for the first three days this week, so let's hope things get better as the days march on. No matter what the weather brings, however, there is my huge shelter here for all of us to sit under. We can even carry the screen rooms into the shelter, should the evenings become mosquitoey.

Today I have a doc appointment at noon to have a skin lesion cut off, will then go across the street to do some last minute grocery shopping, and back here I will come to greet whomever might show up early. I got an email from Richard the Roofer yesterday, and he is the only one, as far as I know, who might show today.

It sounds as if my plan for some cold meats and tuna/noodle salad will be the menu for the arrival days, so that anyone can eat whenever hunger strikes, and we won't have to plan for a sit-down meal-as-we-cook it. I will also have some recipe ready to go, maybe some jello shots, plenty of coffee and cocoa. Whatever evolves from there remains to be seen! The lawn is all mowed, the limbs all trimmed from the trees on the driveway in, and the wire-lifter pole will be in place for those with big rigs. Let the games begin!

Joe will be brush-hogging trails today, and cutting down dead trees. Mandy will be returning to her place for the day, but will be back here tonight. There are still many brushy trees I need to take down later, along with those stumps I didn't have the time to cut back yesterday. I may do that this morning before I take a bath and head to the doc's.

I hope you all are having a fun day wherever you are. If you are within shooting distance of the Ruckus, come on over and join us!

I will try to keep up with pictures as the days go on. News just said there is a thunderstorm between us and the neighboring town....ACK! Maybe it will stay south of us as they have been doing this summer.

Off I go---things to do! Happy Monday!

Sounds like your Rukus is good to go Soos regardless of the weather but I'll wish for clear skies and nice cool breezes.

I'm wondering what is with my furry friends this morning, all three decided not to eat their breakfast. There was a loud explosion of some type just as I put their dishes down and the little ones freaked out. Still after 20 minutes no one had touched a bite so I picked the food up and put in the fridge. It is a new bag of food but they have eaten several meals from it with no complaints or problems so I am puzzled. It was 65 not humid degrees here this morning and it feels absolutely wonderful The weather man is saying the worst heat of the summer is coming the next couple of days so maybe the dogs are picking up my nervousness.

Hope it's just a little nervousness and everyone eats later today ;)

I got soaked working this morning. I didn't mind the rain, but hosing down the outside of the comfort stations with lightning strikes closeby made me pretty nervous. I threw the hose when one hit close  At least it wasn't hot, but will probably get hot and muggy this afternoon. I'm sure I looked real cute with my soaking wet red COE hat, wet shirt, rain pants, and rubber boots  Sure made me appreciate my shower when I was done!

Well, I better get some stuff done while the rain has stopped. Have bottles and cans to turn in for $, recycling to drop off, and drop off my time sheet so I can get paid (someday). The loud, obnoxious group showed up last night to use a shelter. We cringed, but they did leave early, without being told, and left me a bounty of beer bottles :o That is the only good thing that comes out of that bunch  We have a nickel deposit on cans and bottles here in IA so it adds up. That is my bonus money ;) Actually, it may be gas money this time! Have a great day, girls!

Oh...BTW...Thanks to Barbie for sharing a photo with me for my Avatar! I hope it looks OK. They always turn out short and fat

Party on Soos! Sounds like fun and wish we were there to enjoy the "festivities"!!

For me, my "last" Monday off...this morning I went and interviewed with a childcare facility (a few blocks away) to do some part time (4-6:30 pm) coverage, afterschool each day. Figured since I get out of "real" school at 3:30 and just go home and veg...I could put in another couple of hours and make some cash too. I know I have the job (I have loads of experience and education/certifications in the field) and the director even gave me the line...."if any other facility makes you an offer, please call me before you accept as we would really love to have you here!" So, I go and do an observation tomorrow at 4pm and then she can talk $$$ with me. No prob.....It is a chain facility, but what I saw, I liked...clean, organized and sounds like well run. She said she hopes I LIKE THE FACILITY enough to wanna work there. Love hearing those kinda words!!! Pays to be a good worker!!! I am very lucky as I have "almost" always gotten the job I wanted, and worked for wonderful bosses along the way! Another new adventure!!!!

Have a great rest of the day all!

Well hopefully third time is charm I lost my last two posts on my dratted MacBook, I was just typing along and suddenly the page just disappeared, so I'm using my trusty Dell for this one.
All is well with the dogs, I came home from yoga class everyone decided they wanted lunch and they all cleaned their bowls. Who knows!!
Laurie I hope you get the part time job and it works out well.
Linda I line your new avatar but maybe you should have taken your picture this morning in your hat and boots

That's great, Laurie! I, too, seem to get the job I want. I interview well and that sure helps, I feel.

Glad the pooches decided to eat. I hate when they do something out of character. It makes me worry :( They are our children, even if they do have paws! As for losing your post. That has happened to me a lot in the past. I think if you are using a mouse and you forget to turn off the touch pad, you touch it and something happens to it. Not sure if that's right, but could be.

I got the chair I had listed on Craig's List sold today :D I held onto it when sold most everything else as I loved it so much! It was very modern and ergonomic. I removed the extra bucket seat in Myrtle and had put it in here. It was a bit too wide for the spot and hung over my stairwell a little. I really wasn't using it much, as it was awkward to move around. I would like to get one of those reclining chairs like I saw someone post a pic of on the forum. I hope I can find it.

One of my house cats hasn't seemed like herself yesterday and today. This time of night she is usually tearing through the house bouncing off the walls. The quite is nice, just hope she is ok. She is still eating. Maybe it's the heat. I will be glad when this heat wave is over. We could use some of Soos weather.
