GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

A recent picture of litle Hope becoming big Hope, and turning into a grown-up faster than I ever thought she would.

I had a wonderful visit with a couple of firends yesterday at their super-neat campsite north of me! I am sure they got better pictures than the measly two I took, so I'll wait for them to post those when they get back to a faster connection. They basically have that perfect campsite all to themselves, as the park was scheduled to not open this year due to NY State's budget being in dire straits. Most people made reservations elsewhere! The woods there is beautiful, tall trees of many types, and they seem to keep good security as well as having very nice bathhouse/bathrooms! I am impressed! I used my Tom Tom, Mr. Man, to lead me there from my RV dealer's, and he took me right to the entrance gate with no messing around. I think I nearly went through some people's backyards, as he chose way off-the-main-line roads for me---all of which would have been navigable with my trailer, however. I chose "no Freeways" for my option of travel, and he sure did ensure I used no freeways! Coming back here, he did the same thing for me, but I had plugged in a trip to a town I eventually discovered I didn't need to go to, and he was relentless in telling me to turn around as soon as possible----so I had to turn the poor guy off as, by then, I knew where I was! It was a very nice day visiting with friends and relaxing a bit. I also found a perfect campsite I think I could actually back into for another time.

I arrived back here to thunder showers and some rain as a cold front passed through. Today is a nice 63 degrees, but the sky is very heavy and dark looking. I might use the day to go shopping for the Ruckus. And the downstairs of the house still needs some vacuuming. I also need to see if my canoe will fit in this trailer, somehow, but I really doubt it will.

Other than those minor doings, I am relatively set for the show to begin here! I have a doctor's appointment at noon on Monday, which would be the best day for shopping, actually.

Off I go....coffee is hot, so stop by and let us know what's going on in your world. I loved reading all your comments from yesterday----everyone is very busy doing all sorts of neat things! I so look forward to reading posts from you all on here in my mornings.

Happy Trails to all!

Morning all!!!

We are getting ready to get on the boat and head out into Tampa Bay for a day at the beach. We were going to "Beer Can Island" (no beer cans actually there, and it is a cute, little spot to hang on the beach), but DH said he was going to show me another place that is alittle closer to where we put the boat in (Fantasy Island)...it is going to be another very hot and humid day here, but only about 92. So, enjoy your day at whatever you have in store!

No clouds here and it is another 80 at 8 day  It was strange walking the dogs (very short walk!!) there was a slight breeze and I realized there were lots of leaves floating down, almost looked like fall, so I pretended and wished.
I need to get organized I have a woman coming at ten for hypnosis. She is retiring and wants to get into shape and wants extra encouragement.

Morning all from Montana...
Things are going well and can I say..I love the fact we found a young man, Garrett, who does onsite RV work. The KOA here recommended him, they only allow certain repairman on site, as they figure it is also their reputation that is at stake. We arrived home last night from Logan Pass and Garrett was here removing the front axle.
I can also say, after he had been here on Tuesday night, we discussed the options of straightening it..which would have been about a week delay. Or just order a new one..he also priced it out and the price difference was about 150.00. So we went with just get the new axle option, it was the more expensive of the two...but in the long run it was cheaper...finding a place to stay for the week..flying DH and DS back...ect.

Well I am so glad we went with that option, as when Garrett got the axle off and loaded in the back of his truck...he noted the the bend from the stump went the opposite direction of the natural curve of the axle. He says normally when it goes against the natural curve it is too difficult to try and heat and straighten.

The new axle should arrive to his shop by tonight. He will come by tonight and let us know. It might be Friday afternoon before we are fully repaired.

THe KOA here was awesome. We went in and explained we may have to stay one more night depending on if we are repaired. We can't move without the axle. They did have someone coming into our site on Friday, and it was a week long reservation. So Ron, at KOA, spent 10-15 minutes rearrange the sites around and got it so if we have to stay we can.

I have worked on updating the blog...but the connection here is really slow..and the last two nights we dropped connection while it was uploading.

Yesterday we hiked to Hidden Lake..the trail still had 30% snow..Kodie loved that and built a little snowman along the way.
It was animal day yesterday...we saw Black Bear...actually he hangs out near the entrance to the park along the road, and goes back and forth. You can tell it causes a traffic jam, until the ranger arrives and starts moving the traffic along. Garrett the repairman..said in High School..they loved messing with the tourists..they would pull over and point at nothing..acting like it was something.

Well I should get off and start getting ready..we are driving over to the East Glacier and maybe Many Glacier depending on the time we have.

Good-morning !!

Decided to pop in this morning and catch up some and MAYBE pick up some ambition from some of you ladies :) I agree Soos, Hope looks so big now. Not the size i would want to meet in the woods at all. :D :o Having the forum to come to each morning, is like sharing a cup of coffee with a friend each day. Lovely way to start a day out. I sometimes, envy Soos her weather. It starts out hot here and ends pretty much the same way. My A/C is really getting a work out this summer. I have it set on 80 and its already running and during the night several times heard it come on. Glad my heart is good, not looking forward to bill time on electric

Soos, I will take it easy on washing my r.v. But I must slowly work back up to this stuff. You know yourself, you must do things that a lot of women would never dream of, but living alone, there are things you just have to do. Not that the r.v is one, but its a good place for me to work some energy back up and I love to see it clean and ready to go. I am not doing the heavy yard stuff, do have someone doing that, also not lifting and pulling on stuff, like I am used to. Won't get vacuumed under any furniture for months, (I'm leaving soon, you know). In fact, haven't had to do much vacuuming at all yet. So I am just trying to work myself up to where I can take care of myself for a long time. I love being independent and getting to an age, I MUST keep myself in shape . I'm not the sort who wants to ever do anything by anyone else's rules. :D :D Thanks for the concern though, always nice to know there are those who care. I'd love to be going to the Ruskus. I so enjoyed last yr., nice people, and I loved your place.

Jemek, so glad to hear you're getting your problem fixed, and most of all you all are in a great place to visit while waiting for the repairs. I so envied your going to Logan's pass, both times we were there,it was closed. Hopefully there is a next time.

Have a Great Day everyone, for those traveling stay safe.
CArol

Good Morning everyone... it is a beautiful day here in Normal... the sun is shining and the grass is wet... we had a huge storm roll in yesterday about 6 and dumped about 1 to 2 inches of rain on us... so glad for mother natures gift as I do not have to water again for another 2 days...

Carolina if I remember rightly vacuuming is one of the last things you can do... pulls the stomach muscles a lot... but you sure are a gal of push and go...

Soos I have a tom tom also... have not used it except for around the town here... will give it a true work out when I go to Michigan the end of the month... that will be the first time I have pulled out since the sad Florida trip... being alone gives me way to much time to think... I am sure that is why my daughters stayed so long with me... often wonder why it takes me so long to get over things... but that is the way I am...

I figured out how to get the pictures into the computer from the disc now I must figure out how to put them in mail and on here... I made a slide show but do not know how to move it to another place... oh well... need to do more reading in my dummies book...

Drive safe where ever you are and stop often to take in the view...
Kathleen

good morning ladies,
I'm still catching up, but at least I can see pics this time. I'm over at my daughters cooking a big roasting chicken.
Its been a long time since I cooked a big chicken but I remembered the grease it leaves and mentioned it to my
daughter and she told me to bring it over and cook it here. (also saves on my electricity :D ) besides, I don't buy
propane in the summer, so using the my oven was not an option.
I got my bid done on my route for the year, went with a special ed route this time and I suppose it will be just
fine although I didn't get the bus I wanted and they had their excuse of course, but it is what it is. I have no idea
yet if my route requires an aide, will find that out I guess when I run it. Monday is our big inservice meeting and
the following days we do practice runs, clean out the summer dust etc and stuff like that. The kids start school
on the 9th.
Off to do some more catching up, I'll try to keep up with you girls at least once a week until my internet gets
back up.
Enjoy your day and be safe.

Ava, you don't mean August 9th for school starting, right? That would be really early!

Finally got my struts put in my car and it rides so much better now! No bouncing or squeaking! My dad took me to lunch while I was waiting for my car to get done. Now I need to update my resume, type up a cover letter and make copies to send out to the shops in CA. And also type up my 60 day notice for my apartment.

My glasses are in bad shape and need to be replaced. I found a site on line a couple years ago that is really cheap but good! It is http://www.39dollarglasses.com. I sent them my old frames and they were able to make new lenses for me to fit them (a little extra charge for that). Now I will just order a whole new pair. I was really happy with their work the first time and you can't argue with the price. They have a great selection to choose from too! Some cost extra, like the rimless ones I am ordering ($69 for frame and lenses).

I feel a nap coming on but I need to get a few things done here first. The weather today is very nice! 79, partly sunny and a lot less humid! Very comfortable!

Barbie, I can't figure it out - but most of the southern states start school around then - or within a week of then. I was so happy when WI made a law that school couldn't start before the beginning of Sept - unless the school got special permission from the legislature. And they made that work without having to stay in school any later in the summer (even with all the snow days, etc). I would have hated these school start times as a child or a parent.

It seems like they just got out of school down there a month ago! Not much of a summer vacation! Our schools don't start here until after Labor Day because they hire lots of high school kids for the State Fair which goes thru Labor Day here. Also the resorts up north depend on a good turn out for Labor Day weekend and if school starts before then, it really cuts down on business in the northern half of the state.

Calcasieu Parish public schools start Aug. 18th here and they get out May 31th.

Barbie, shouldn't you have your eyes examined?

I had them examined a year ago and my prescription hadn't changed any and my eyes were healthy, so I should be good for now.
