Good morning ladies
coffee is ready and there's toast getting ready to pop up, and finish off the
pears left over from dinner.
Have to make a run to the bank today and deposit a check I finally received.
Stop by the store really quick and get my butt back home before the heat of
the day kicks in.
Enjoy your day and be safe

GOOD MORNING AVA AND ALL!

Good to see some hot coffee ready and waiting for me today! Thanks, Ava!

Yesterday was such a fun day for me! I met a friend I used to share a house with my first year teaching up here, and we reminisced all afternoon! She was teaching art, and I was teaching Phys. Ed. and Science. My salary was 4800, and, as she began teaching a couple of years earlier, hers was about the same. We rented an entire, large house for $60.00 per month, and the heating bill was about the same. Gas was way under a dollar per gallon, groceries were dirt cheap, and life was good. We both agreed we felt richer than we have ever felt again. What a character she is----she now buys and remodels and fixes up houses and then sells them at a profit! She's one tough woman! Her kids are all asking her to slow down and enjoy life, and she has to tell them this is how she enjoys it!

And then when little Hope, the bear cub, reunited with her mom, and is able to get milk from her, I cried and danced with total joy!

The North American Bear Center ended up 3rd in the Chase Bank favorite charity contest, I believe, and so earned 100,000 for their debt reduction fund! All us Hope and Lily fans really made an impact with our votes.

My friend, Laura, and her husband, Bill, took me out to dinner last night here at the lodge of the campground. We sat by the water for a long time after dinner and recalled the many years of fun we shared as our kids were growing up. What a wonderful day was July 12, 2010!

It's cool, about 72 degrees, and a nice strong breeze off the lake is making it another perfect camping day. I cannot believe my luck in choosing this week for my 'vacation' week this year! And it was so unplanned! I just got so hot at home last Thursday, knew there were some spaces here on the lakefront, and off I hauled! It's been a real vacation, as I can't do any major household chores here! My big chores yesterday were to carpet-sweep out this trailer, with one of those battery powered little sweepers they advertise on TV a lot, wash out a few clothes and unobtrusively hang them out to dry, and take a bath and wash my hair last night. Tough day at the beach! Oh yes, I fed the baby ducks and their moms, too.

I may head home today and take some heavier laundry and cans and bottles, pick up some more dog food for Molly, check on the house, and, if they are ripe yet, pick some blueberries. OR----I may just hunker down here, as I think I have enough Molly food for another 4 meals, which is all I will need.

Hope you all have a great day doing something fun for yourselves. Coffee is hot and Hazlenut, so stop in and share some!

Good Tuesday morning to all you lovely ladies!

Just got called into work as we just got the FCAT scores in and have to put a "game plan" together to get them filed and distributed to the parents. That means my next couple of days will now be work days. So much for the "summer off" gig???? DH is fixing my car (Jeep Liberty) window as I type. Famous for this PLASTIC piece, in the window structure that snaps and has to be replaced with a metal piece...2nd window down, 2 more to go....This will be our last Jeep!!!

May have to do a drive thru cafe con leche later on...

Have a great day, and stay cool!
Laurie

Morning!
Cooled down considerably here, Liz and Joselyn were cold, but perfect weather for me. They just left a bit ago. Added a few more pics to the GTG thread. What a couple of nice gals! They are headed up the backside of Mt St Helens, I believe. Liz showed me her atlas she uses from National Geographic. This one caters to the camper/RVer. I really liked it and actually ordered one last night off the internet. I checked the bookstores and they didn't carry it so went thru Amazon. Seems I go thru them the most anyway.
My 2 youngest GDs start horse camp today. They actually meet the camp bus near the interstate exit which will take them each day and return them. They are beyond excited! Especially the youngest, 8, as this is her first year there.
Not much else planned for the day. Choco is sleeping again. He and Roe had a blast!! If ever (yeh, right), Liz wants to find him a new home...... :D
Have a blessed day, everyone!

Already afternoon here and I had a busy morning. I went for a haircut and I just finished giving Winnie a bath and picking many little burrs out of her coat. I found the offending plant right by the deck. Thought I got all of it pulled out last year but noooo and of course she managed to find it while looking for those pesky Chipmunks.
Amazing video of Hope and her mother reuniting after all this time! I'm happy too Soos but no dancing here :)
I'm ready for a nap and my book, it's too hot to do anything outside and supposed to be much worse tomorrow. I looked at the pictures of the GTG in the PNW and envied them having to wear jackets!

Technically it is still morning. I had to take DS to work since DH is at football camp with younger DS. That was up at 4:30 am to get him there by 5:30 pm. He takes his driving road test on Friday. I hope he passes it. As we leave for vacation next week and my other DS school/work schedule doesn't make things easy. Now granted once he passes it there is the still the issue of no car. But we have friends keeping an eye out for a older car that he can use until he saves up $$ to buy a small truck.

Had a great time with my niece last week. She was here all week, cooking up a storm for the her BFF wedding. It was great to get to know her better. She left Sunday to head back home.

Dh and youngest DS left on Saturday for football camp in Seattle. Then I dropped off older DD at summer camp on Sunday afternoon. This is her official last year as a camper. Next year she will take the Counselor in Training sessions...they are 3 weeks long. Then the year after that she will be a counselor and work there all summer.

I have been working on the bunk drapes and the putting black felt on the back of the bunk window curtains. As it seems some of the places we stay have large lights and they shine in the kid's windows. My kids are use to living in the woods in darkness. Then I am working the little curtains for the cabinets. We opted to just cover them with a curtain and put a molding along the bottom vs trying to get the new cabinets installed.

Well I should get off here..I have sewing to finish, house to clean, dishes to get done, washing the sheets and comforters on the kids beds.
