Our fire last night at dusk, showing boat-lined shoreline and some ducks.
The sky at dusk. What a fantastic view I have!
GOOD MORNING TO ALL!
Another absolutely beautiful morning here----68 degrees, nice breeze coming off the water, lots of ducks dabbling on the shore and running through the shore-edge grasses, scooping up bugs, loons singing their haunting songs out in the deep lake. I am so happy I chose this week to camp here. It was one of the best choices I have made all year for me. As I have only one more 'event' to drive to, the bluegrass festival in Alburgh, VT, I don't feel guilty spending a few more bucks for a waterfront site in this beautiful place. I saved 5-dollar bills all winter for this event! This entire beach front is all mine now, as the nice neighbors down the way just pulled out. It's as if I have my own private waterfront with crystaline water. I will definitely go get my canoe today along with some more of Molly's food that I forget to get the other day. I just hope I have enough room in my truck bed, around all my camping gear I have in there, to carry my canoe!
I also forgot to go to the bank the other day when I sent shopping for an extension cord and some groceries. Oh well...my check will be good for a while.
Coffee is hot, so stop by and tell us what's up with you all.
I took some pictures of a sunset last night which I will shrink and post in an edit later in this same post. Laura and I cooked chicken, baked beans, salad, and pickles for supper last night, around a neat campfire. As she is pre-diabetic, and I don't need any more sweets/calories in my diet, we avoided the s'mores, even though I always have the 'guts' to make them all.
HAPPY MONDAY!

Another rainy day here in Nova Scotia and predictions are for a lot of rain this next week in Newfoundland (NFLD). We missed the sunny days they had last week
Maybe if I did a sun dance....
Glad you're having such a great time starting your retirement, Soos. Have a good day, everyone. carold

good morning ladies
what beautiful pictures Soos, it does look like a wonderful place to be.
Started out the morning with cloudy skies, hot and humid and the sun wasn't
even up yet, now the sun is trying to peek through the overcast and getting
even more humid and hotter. Such is life in Maricopa county.
Nothing special going on today, but you all have a great day and hope you
have weather that "feels good" !

Morning!
WE have cooled down considerably and I'm loving it! Nice and cool in the house this morning, even see some clouds. Haven't watched the news to see the forecast.
Looking forward to Liz and Joselyn's visit later today!! Hope we remember to take pictures!
Watched my 2 GDs yesterday so their parents could go motorcycling riding with friends. Everyone had a great time. My DD/SIL have sore butts. They rode 155 miles in just a few hours. All secondary roads.
Need to scoot. Have to try to clean the house some, company's coming!!
Have a great day everyone!
Soos, thanks for the AM pics!

Good morning from the Columbia River Gorge. We are staying in a state park near Portland. Looking forward to meeting Lenora (Almost There) today. We decided to forego a morning hike in favor of laundry, so we'll search out a laundromat near Lenora. My cousin from Vancouver finally called this morning, so plans are to to have dinner at her place this evening. So today is chore and visit family & friends day, then on to Mt. St. Helens tomorrow.

Just sneaking in with time to say gm - and it sure is. Thunderstorms came through in the early morning hours here - which meant I went back to bed instead of getting up. Peaches and I finally found our way out of bed after 9 and walked around the wet grass and down to the lake where we could still see the fog/mists swirling in the trees in the bluffs across the lake from us. Just beautiful.
Going to catch up a bit more on the forums then head out to the grocery stores.

Afternoon ladies. Great pics of your CG Soos. Weather here is the same today, high 80's with high dew point which gives us a heat index of high 90's and a lot of rain. For the rest of the week it will be in the high 90's to triple digits, again with the high dew point. Bummer. Too hot to get much done, a lot like Ava's neck of the woods, but with humidity.
Lenora, Joselyn and Liz, have a great GTG. Being a nice guest, Liz brought the cool weather with her.
Take care all. Linda

Drive safe you happy travelers... enjoy your day...

Liz, your trip itinerary westward seems to be following my first time coast-to-coast, almost to a T! You have stopped at every single place I went, including Craters of the Moon, where we tried to sleep on the lava rocks in a tent with a thin mattress pad! OUCH! And the campground you are now in just outside of Portland is where we stayed for about a week while trying to find a rental house or apartment in Portland. Is that HUGE fish...cannot for the life of me think of the name of it this morning, still in that breeder pen at the Columbia River Gorge place? We looked into the tank could see nothing, and then realized all the ater in the tank was slowly rising and falling, and, when the light got just right, we could see the entire tank was taken up by this massive fish who was slowly breathing in and out! A giant of a fish! I will never forget that, but sure do wish I could think of the name of that kind of fish.
Have a fun mini GTG today, and we are all ooking forward to seeing pictures!
