YAWN! STREEEETTCCHHHH!!!

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

Hope looks as if she feels as lazy as I am this morning! It's about 67 degrees out there, sunny, nice moderate breeze coming off the lake, making nice wave-lapping sounds on the shore.....a perfect camping morning! The wild mallard duck hens and their broods are patroling the shore, looking for any handouts they can elicit from the campers. Unfortunately for the babies, they need to be very wary of the resident eagles on this lake who tend to pick off little black and yellow fuzzy ducklings like popcorn. Each day, some of the broods are down by one or more babies as they hug the beach shore. But, of course, the baby eaglets also need to eat.

I had a busy day yesterday. Molly and I went for a walk in the local woods. Then two friends who live down the road from me, the couple who just sold their 40 foot class A RV for a park model in FL, stopped by, bringing lunch. We sat and chatted for about 3 or 4 hours in the shade of the awning, enjoying this amazing view. Dick is now just 5 weeks from having his quadruple bi-pass surgery, so he enjoyed getting out for a bit. His girl, my long-time friend of about 30 years, also enjoyed getting out of the house as she has been his resident nurse through his recuperation! She is an amazing lady in her mid-80s who still acts as if she's about 40!

Then, just as they left, my friend, Laura, came back and we went to the lodge for dinner and a couple of cold beers. It sure is nice to have some real live company after the long, dark, cold winter, too! She said she will be back tonight with some kindling and some supper for us, so we can have a nice campfire after dinner. Her husband is working nights at the border, so his sleeping hours include suppertime for us day people. I will try to at least pop into the chatroom tonight for a quick touching bases with whomever is there.

This has been such an enforced relaxation period for me---no lawn to mow, no house to stain, no chores staring me in the face. I truly feel as if I am on vacation at last. The work will still be there for me when I get home.

By the way, the formula to correct that most annoying problem of having your typing window go out of sight as you are typing is to go to TOOLS and then select COMPATIBILITY VIEW. I discovered that after tyring EVERYTHING under the sun to fix that annoyance! I hope that works for you all, too, who are having that problem.

I hope you all are having as nice weather as we are getting here....I feel so lucky! Stop by for some coffee, and let us know what's up in your world.

Super Sunday -

Good Morning to All - another beautiful morning here in Brown County. AND it will be a good day. The LAST World Cup game is this afternoon. We've been watching them for a month now.
Today is supposed to be less humid and not in the 90s - thank goodness.
Still lots of fresh fruit in the fridge and a pot of fresh coffee is brewing. Thought about making a peach cobbler today - sounded good last night when I had a sweet attack - but not so sure today.
Have a safe and good day out there

good morning ladies
Soos, glad you are finally getting a vacation, I hope to get mine in about two months.
Its still a little overcast here, didn't get any activity out of the monsoon thats moved
into town, although some parts south of me did. But at least its keeping the hot sun
from beating down on me, and for that I am thankful.
All this time off is already making me loose track of the days, I actually had to look
on my computer to see what day it was! It is SUNDAY already!
I do have to run to the store today and pick up a few items I forgot to put on my list
for last time.
Hopes little tummy looks fat and she's growing by leaps and bounds.
Time for another cup of coffee and view a few more posts.
Enjoy your day and be safe everyone.

Good morning, I decided it's time for me to crawl out of my lurker status and post again! Soos...I'm really jealous of your camping site! Coffee is on...same Lite caffeine that Carol mentioned yesterday, also some pecan caramel apple rolls with cream cheese frosting and some grapes. I can do the caffeine free soda and tea routine...but I have to have just a little jolt in my java to get me motivating in the morning. ;) Did accomplish just about everything I had on my weekend agenda yesterday except for washing the sheets in the camper..so think I'm going to be a bum most of today. I have to go to my neighbor/friends house and teach her how to make my deviled eggs. She's invited to her niece's 30th birthday bash today and asked what she could bring...they told her the deviled eggs that she had made for her son's rehearsal supper in June....I had made them and she didn't want to admit it!  Who da thunk my friend was a liar by omission! To top if off she's a blackmailer too...told me if I didn't help her that she wouldn't water my flowers next time we're camping. However she did redeem herself and said she would have four dozen eggs cooked and peeled before I came over. It's been hot and muggy here. Last night there were severe thunderstorms with high winds and hail all around us but we were lucky enough to dodge the bullet. Our crops look beautiful right now...hope we can stay that lucky.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Soos, you just gave us all the answer to that scroll. Thank you very much.

Had plans to go grocery shopping and go visit my friend to see if the pictures I can't find are (hopefully) because I left them there. But right now I think instead I'm going to be a bum again today. Going to take my beach chair in a bit and head down to the beach area. Sit close enough to have my feet in the water - and relax. And try to remember to put on sun screen first so I don't burn.

Good morning! I thought I would pop in since I skipped Church this morning. Cute pic, Soos! Last I knew, hope was missing. Fill me in! I see some new people in here. I feel so out of touch! My computer is on it's way back to me from the factory. I'm praying it works well this time or I may have to throw it in the lake and buy a different brand!!! I will try to remember your helpful hint, Soos, when I get on it again. I can't do that on this Droid and I manage to hi something and lose my post a lot. Therefore, I get frustrated uand give up, leaving me out of touch with you girls!

As you know, tomorrow is the day Barbie arrives forbour mini gtg! I'm anxious to see her again!!! I'm hoping for nice weather for her adventure in her new tent. Today has been sprinkly off and on. Was wet on my walk with Rags this morning from rain and not sweat, for a change. Had to rinse the road yuck off of Rags when we got home.

My DD and her family are stopping by briefly today on their way back to Lincoln, NE from Alton, IL. They were going to camp here for he weekend, but the guys had to replace her brake rotors and Lexi and Brayden caught what Maddie had when they picked up Lexi from her stay with me. They felt they didn't get their fill of time there so now DXH and I will meet them for pizza later and Maddie will come back to Myrtle with me for 3 wks. She starts swim lessons tomorrow night...level 3. Barbie will get to meet her.

Still waiting for word on when I can move back to my site and get back to work. I'm trying not to worry about it, but every day I'm not working is a no pay day. No only do I have my normal bills, but I need to get my Blue Ox and base plate on the truck before leaving his fall. Really should get new tires on Myrtle and the truck, but that may have to wait. I'm due for a colonoscopy and routine physical stuff. That's not chump change, even with my insurance. Considering switching to major medical and saving the money I spend on insurance for my routine stuff and ask the doctors for a discount to pay cash. Anyone else here do this? I may start a medical savings plan for the Rags, so I could use it for me too. When I use the card at the vet, she matches 3%. It's a thought.

Well, I don't drink coffee often, but being at the morning coffee has given me a craving! Think I'll put some on: -) Have a great day, girls! I would love to meet more of you, so if you're coming through IA on your travels, come see me! I will hold a site for you or you can tent camp on my site.

Good to hear from you Linda and hope you are able to go back to work soon. Barbie and your GD visiting will cheer you up. I know how you feel about your computer, I'm about ready to cast this one out, it is a Macbook that I've had to send in for replacement THREE times....at least it's always been 24 hours or less turn around. Guess the early Macbooks had issues, wish I had waited for the Macbook Pro. Oh well at least I have my desktop Dell, it is older but still works well.
Humidity back here after a couple of cooler days nothing bad yet like the June extreme heat wave. It was the 2nd or 3rd hottest June ever for here.
You sound like you are learning about retirement Soos, beautiful spot you are camping at. Carol you made me hungry for peach cobbler!
