THIS IS IT!!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

THIS IS IT!!

Postby Nasoosie » Fri Jun 25, 2010 3:27 am

GOOD MORNING ALL!

This is my final Friday as a full-time teacher. Very mixed feelings here, to say the least. I will get my final big check today, without the incentive money yet, but including the two months for summer as I elected to get paid over 12 months rather than 10 months. So I will have the summer to discover what my pension checks will be, and if they will be enough to sustain me. I will deposit most of today's money into my savings and try not to touch it. If I have to dip into it, it won't be a good sign. Sigh.

One of our former high school students died in a weird accident yesterday. He was on his skateboard at 10:30 pm, and was struck by a golf cart driven by another older guy. The golf cart driver fled the scene, and the police are still trying to piece together what on earth happened. He was taken to Burlington Hospital where he died of his injuries yesterday. Ironically, he was our school's ace golfer, who had a chance to become a pro some day. He was currently in college, playing on their golf team. The whole incident doesn't add up----both skateboarding and driving a golf cart in the dark? I am sick for his family and brothers who are still in school. Today is graduation, and one brother is the graduating class, I believe.

Coffee is hot, so stop in and let us know what you are doing and where you are. This will probably be my last very early morning coffee post, as I will no longer have to get up at 4:30! Anybody who wants to post early, I will happily reply when I roll out of bed! Happy Friday to us all!

Good morning. This is the first time I've been up this early. Changed time zones and Sedona is still on the old one. Heading North to Huntsville AL and will get to stop and see the girls. Soos, congrats on your last day. I'm telling you it's great!! Enjoying a diet pepsi and a Nature Valley breakfast bar. There are plenty so pick one up.

Good Morning... we have sun and will be in the high 80s today... my body feels like we are about to have bad storms... I put the umbrella up and will sit out on the deck when I am finished here...
Oh Soos this is a great day for you... many new things await you... you sure know how to do all of the things you need to with your tt... even back up now... yea yea yea
so sad to hear about that young man... why on earth was he out there on a skateboard at that time of night anyway... no one will ever know they will just be left with the empty place in their family...
I hope everyone has a good Friday...

Good morning.
Soos - Don't worry, it is going to be great. Such exciting new adventures. One caution; A surprising difficulty I had when I first left workforce - it is difficult to keep up with what day it is. That worried me for a bit until I realized that unless I had an appointment or bill due, it really did not matter any more what day or time it was ;)
Liz just left about 1/2 hour ago. Maybe she will have time to update blog or forum post this evening.
Carolyn (Sunshinecrusier) will be arriving later today. More little mini gtgs!!!! YEA.

Carolyn, didn't know you were coming. Look forward to meeting you. So neat.

I've been busy this morning. Walked Peaches - went to the office asked if I could change sites. The worker there I usually talk to has been off. She was back today and I asked if everything is all right. Her son died. So hard to lose a child. So, I feel for the parents and family of your former student, Soos.

Anyway, I wanted to change sites, and she approved it - so went and dumped, then moved to my new site (on the other side of Jean). Will have more privacy here - a little quieter on the busy weekends with Jean on one side of me and an adult single long term on the other. But am running into a couple problems. Still working on getting my water to not leak at the spout. Hate when that happens. And they need to do a little work on the electrical for me - which they will do.

Jean's computer is on the fritz, so she just came over to check emails on mine. I decided to give up (temporarily) on the water and read the forum. Will go back out in a minute and get it done one way or another.

Meantime, after all the work to get my birdfeeder in a semi-squirrel proof place, had to bring it over here - and can't find as good a spot, and no where that I'll be able to watch it from my window. I'm going to try a spot where I will be able to see it from my bed, so maybe I'll spend some days in bed :) Or next time I dump, maybe I'll pull in instead of backing in and run my electric under the rig. Options, there are always options :)

Have a great day everyone. Looking forward to meeting you Carolyn.

Oh, Soos. I understand the mixed feelings. But you are FREE! FREE! FREE! And you've earned every wonderful lazy, occupied, fascinating, boring, overscheduled, adventurous day.

Congratulations, Soos! Here's to many, many, happy and adventurous retirement years!

Joselyn and I are off to a great start on our trip west. We traveled through northern AL today after leaving our friends in Huntsville. Tonight we are in Mississippi. Pictures of the AL gtg are on my blog. Sorry we missed Carolyn, though. Glad you were able to get to your new site, Beth. And especially glad Jean made it to your rig to use the 'puter.

Hope you're feeling better, Kathleen.

Carolyn, I know what you mean about the time change. My fur-kids and I are still waking up on eastern time.

Soos, tomorrow is the first day of the rest of your new life! Yahoo! I envy you!

I went into work this morning and they had too many of us scheduled for the am hours and not enough scheduled for the pm hours. so I asked if I could go to my cousin's funeral at 10 and then work late to help out tonight. They were willing to let me do that. I felt a little guilty about forgetting to tell my oldest brother about my cousin's passing and the funeral until last night. I didn't think he would be interested in going anyways, but he was. I got there just when he did. I was able to re-introduce him to some relatives he hasn't seen for decades. I got to see some others who weren't at the wake last night. It was a nice service. My cousin Linda's husband is a wreck! I don't know how he is going to get thru this. He worshipped her!

I stayed at work until almost 8pm. We had some nasty storms come thru while I was there, but after I got home I found out there was very large hail that had come thru further north where I live that I luckily missed! My brother's wife wasn't so lucky. Her car is severly damaged from the hail. It is hot and steamy out now. Hopefully, it will be nicer tomorrow. My dad and I plan to go watch some really great fireworks for a local festival tomorrow night. I got my tent today so I am anxious to set it up and see how big it actually is and get it waterproofed.

Also got my new shoes today! Hopefully they will be much more comfortable for work!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
