GOOD MORNING ALL!

Image
Little Hope loves that little sapling near her feeding station tree, and many of her recent pictures have been taken next to that. Today she playfully bites at it!

This is my next-to-last Monday as a full-time school teacher! I'll still be getting up early all this week and next, even though exam weeks begin tomorrow, as many kids will use the library early to study and hang out if they don't have an exam. My plan is to take 4 half-days off, afternoons, to use up my two personal days which won't give me any rewards if I don't use them. I will put in for those next week on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Friday next week is the final two hour-assembly, and then----that's all she wrote!

I love the idea of looking for volunteer work for an RV spot in some wildlife research projects, Tina! Thanks for that suggestion! I would much rather do something like that than sit behind a desk and register campers. Maybe I can even manage to get a spot at the NABC, or with the wolf project at Isle Royale. GREAT thought!

Gotta take a bath this morning----got too much sun yesterday after my walk to the pond, so it will hurt in that hot water! (I lounged rather than mowed!) But what a beautiful day we had up here----sun all day long, and a perfect temperature. Supposed to get some more rain today, however.

Soon it will be the longest daylight day of the year----hard to believe we will be on our way back to the dark days of winter already just when summer begins!

Hope you all have a great Monday, and that you stop by and let us know what you are doing so we can share it with you! Coffee is hot and Hazlenut!

good morning ladies
back to work for me as well, will be doing the special ed run today, they added
my other run to a bus that had just a few kids. But the good news is the special
ed run has more hours, makes for a longer day but a better paycheck. Stopped
by the regular drivers house that normally does this special ed run and she gave
me this magnetic device for the one student that has seizures every morning
just before he gets to school. Apparently he has some device implanted in the
area like where they implant a pacemaker and when he has a seizure you swipe
the magnet on this device. So, I was told when he gets on the bus my aide and
I are to pull his collar down and locate the spot, she said there will be a scar and
a bit of a bump. It is suppose to stop the seizure, then if he has cluster seizures
after that we are to call dispatch and request 911. Its only a 20 minute ride to
the school after we pick him up, but I've been to this school before the buses
all line up and the aides for the school come out and pick up the students from
the bus. The longest time is waiting in line as there are buses from all over the
metro area, maybe 30 or so buses. Each student has their own aide.
Ok, I'm off to get my cup of coffee for the road and out the door.
Enjoy your day.

Avalen we got paid more to drive the special ed busses... I was fortunate to only have 3, 4 and 5 year olds... only had seizure patients when I did a special run on my off days... hope your district pays extra for special ed...

Sounds like you got into poison ivy Kathleen I hope they give you something that works fast. Send some of the rain down south and a cool breeze if you have one. It is still hot and humid here and not much change in sight the weather people say. I baked my bread early and don't plan on much else other than a quick groom for one of my little ones. I've trimmed him down quite a bit and I'm tempted to cut a lot more off but he is just so cute, I hate to. He looks just like the little brown and white dog in the recent Beneful dog food commercials. That food by the way was rated the worst in one of the newsletters I receive.
Hang in Soos you will be free soon!!

Well, I missed morning by a few minutes - but just wanted to drop in and wish everyone a great day.

Peaches got me up duirng the night last night with what appears to be a doggy tummy upset. I fixed her some rice this morning and she gobbled it up. But I'm going to watch her carefully today - need to see some normal looking poop. Ha, good conversation topic, isn't it?

I also put up a bird feeder yesterday - gonna have Jean slappin' me around, as I was supposed to get one from her truck. Need to still do that to put one up by her - but I bought one so I'd have my own - and have been having fun watching the birds - and chasing away the squirrels. Doesn't matter that I bought "squirrel proof" one - I don't think there's any such thing. But they do have more trouble with this one - not impossible tho. And I do have some pics - when I get them off my camera, I'll do a blog post - with birds and squirrels. Haven't gotten most of the birds - have seen quite a few different kinds - but got some.

Cloudy now and hot and muggy. It'll be interesting to see if we get more rain. Had a couple days without.

Good afternoon ladies. Busy morning dodging rain and getting one puppy to the vet. She had a cherry eye, so needed to get that taken care of. It poured as soon as I left the dryness of the garage and didn't let up until I got inside the vet's office. Talk about 2 drowned rats. :D Phoebe (doggie) is fine after treatment and needs eye drops 3-4 times a day for a week or so. Also had her get her yearly shots, so she is good to go. My wallet no so much. :( Tomorrow, the other three little ones go in for their yearly shots. Might as well pick the wallet clean. :D

Beth, hope Peaches gets to feeling better soon. Ava, sounds like you have enough to keep you out of trouble for a while. :D Soos, these last days will fly by.

Take care all and drive safely. Linda
