Saturday and the rains come in

Raining here SW Ohio. Husband had left the house early to set up for a pottery show...He had talked several of his potter friends i setting up in Waynesville with him and trying it. He figured that he couldn't be the first one to roll up his tent and go home. He was one from here before the dogs and I got up. The dogs are fed. I am grabbing a quick bite and heading down th road to pick up a friend of my S-Mother's and one or two things from her apt and then Herschel, Remi and I will head over to drop stuff off and make a visit. If the skies stay cloudy I will probably head out and have some lunch with Millie before I drive her home. The dogs will be okay as long as the sun stays covered.... Looking forward to tomorrow. Nothing planned :) Hope all is well and adventures look promising where ever the day take you. Drink up your caffeine/morning starter of choice. I love that this kitchen has something for everyone, all you have to do is look in enough cabinets and behind something in the frig. I always find what I need. :)

GOOD MORNING TINA AND ALL FROM LITTLE HOPE IN THE WOODS OF ELY, MN.

And the rains are coming in here as well!

It is still pouring out there, as it has been doing all night long. I'm in the trailer, and have turned on the furnace to try to warm up my bones! There is standing water all over the driveway. Seeing the news about the poor souls in that campground in Arkansas puts this heavy spring rain into some perspective, however. What a horrible time for that river to rise from 3 feet to twenty feet---between 2 am and 5 am, when all campers were sound asleeep.

I see also that Colorado had heavy hail on the ground and several tornadoes touched down out there. Supposed to be super high heat in the southern states today. I guess I should be very happy for some rain and temps around 50 degrees.

Today I'll try to back out those recalcitrant screws in my dinette bench, and try to make some space in here. I was going to go to the dump----a job I've been putting off for months now----but soon I'll have another weekday to make that run, when it might be sunny out and easier to load and unload the tuck. Monday is the last day of regular school, and then final exams begin. A couple of my kids have RCT exams scheduled---Regents Competency Tests ---I doubt if any of those taking them will pass, but you never know.

I hope you all will stop by and find yourself something to sip on and snack on! I need to get caught up on vacuuming the house, too. ACK!

Happy Saturday to all!

good morning ladies
cute picture of little Hope, makes me want to grab the dog brush and brush the
debris out of her coat.
Will be getting out and under the rv today, I popped the elbow off the sewer pipe
the other morning when I mistakenly shut the valve on the flush king before I
turned off the water, thought I had the water off but nope. I did it once
before when I was a brand new owner and I swore I'd never do that again, that
time I was just plain stupid and didn't know, this time was a mistaken error in
the way the little faucet knob turned  Luckily I know how to fix it and won't
need to call any repairman. Soon as I get that done I can get some laundry done.
Much cooler out this weekend, perhaps I can get some stuff done out in the yard
as well and then do my inside stuff during the heat of the day while the ac runs.
I really need to finish up sorting out the winter clothes from the summer clothes
and get them packed away in tubs and out to the shed. This place looks like a
tornado went through here, not to mention I've been stacking mail on the corner
of the table and my table has disappeared again! Bad me bad me.
Coffee is tasty and warm and a little fresh cantaloupe hits the spot. Enjoy your
day and hope you all have good weather for your "doins"

I'll trade you some of our heat and humidity for your rain and cool Soos! I'm going to have a quiet day inside. I should have made a list of all those projects I've been saving to do on a day like this because now I am drawing a blank. Gees maybe I'll just have to listen to the book I downloaded from Audible to my iPhone. Well, first I had to download it to my computer as the Audible App is not out yet. The book is The Mapping of Love and Death by Jacqueline Winspear. I've enjoyed the other books she has written with the Masie Dobbs character & this one is promising so far. They are what I call light mysteries, I don't like scary and bloody!

I also have the free Kindle app for iPhone on Amazon and so far have only paid for one book as there are so many free ones. It is so nice having a phone that lets me either read or listen to a book at any time, can you tell I love my iPhone! I am soooo tempted by the new version that just came out.

Have a happy day.

Good morning from Paradise Pt. SP. I am ca
ping here a couple days and so is every camper in Wa and Or
It is one of the first sunny, warm weekends so far this year!
We have broken record after record for rainfall and cooler temps
so the campgrounds are pretty full.
I have had my coffee (forgot the filters so used a paper towel), walked
Choco (where we could stay out of the mud), and I just ate my bowl of
cereal. Life is good here.
I have yet to walk to the river/boat ramp and planned that for today but
saw on my walk that the road is closed. Will ask about that later.
Nice to see Hope's little face this morning.
Wishing everyone a safe day.

Good Morning Ladies... it is hot here already and we are in bad need of rain again... had to water the plants this morning before coffee and e-mail... oh yes Soos I had my alarm set for 5:30 to go to the free dental clinic but turned over and went back to sleep... ugh... I may go over later and see what kind of crowd is there...
Shadow is shedding something awful... he is leaving clumps of white hair fur all over the place...
I am almost afraid to turn on the tv with all of the bad things happening... no good news on there...
My granddaughter Sekana called last night she got all A's and B's she was so proud... she does not sit still long enough in school to do her work but this time she did... she is very excited about coming down on the train... but first she has camp... it is hard to believe she is going into 6th grade.... she is my youngest... oh my I am getting old for sure...
I hope you all have a great day drive safe and smile often...

I don't know what I'm going to do today, it's too hot to do much outside. Yesterday I took 2 of the barn cats to a spay and neuter clinic. Monday thru Thursday you bring your animals at 8:00 and pick them up at 7:30 the next day. On Fridays you bring them and pick them up the same day. Friday sounded like a good day until I ended up spending 10 hours in town waiting to pick them up. They had told me they might call me and I could pick them up early but they never called. It's about 40 miles from here so didn't want to come home and go back again. They were both in heat so we dodged 2 bullets there. I have another 5 that need to go. We live in the country on a dead end road so people must think this would be a good place to dump cats. We feed the barn cats so stray cats show up all the time. Hope I can get them all fixed before the clinic goes broke.

Good Morning Ladies

No rain here; just very hot/muggy. We are under a heat advisory for the next few days; very unusual for June.

Thanks for the pix of Hope this morning. Always enjoy see her.

The friend with whom I exchange dog sitting services has a 6 foot gardenia bush at her back door. She surprised me last evening with some cuttings and it smell so good in here this morning. Have to share a couple of photos

Good Morning from SUNNY Washington...yes that is the S word. I was beginning to forget what it looked like.
My poor strawberries and roses...need sun and need the warmth...I hope it stays so I can get lady bugs as the aphids are eating up my roses. They are really bad this year.

The down side..is the lawn is going to go crazy it is already 6 inches high..as it as been too wet to mow. We will have to use the weed eater to get it down so it is easier to mow with the manual push mower.

Well we have baseball tournament this weekend. Actually we are looking forward to the end of this season. Every once in awhile you get that not so great coach...that is what DS ended up with. We were sold up the river as they say. The team is not what we were told it was going to be..it started out that way and then somewhere along the line the coach lost that vision. IT has actually ended up with the Assit Coach being there 99% of the time. We know DS is not the best player on the team..there are kids that are better, but he is also not that bad..at least not as bad as the coach is making him feel. The focus of this team was to continue to develop all the players and work and focus on building stronger fundamentals. First they rarely practice...have not had a practice on field in 3 weeks. Just this week the Coach said it is because of field availability. Which my response was..like we told you guys back in Feb..there is a EMPTY Baseball Field in Sudden Valley. Here you have to reserve the fields through parks and recreation. IMO he had not been doing that til Monday am...and the result is there are no fields for the week.
DS has been catcher and first baseman for the 4 years he has played. He started out catching..along with 4 other boys, they all rotated through. Then the coach found his 1 catcher and that has been it for the last 5 weeks. Then DS was rotated to 1st base, played there for a 2 weeks and now as he says...his #1 spot is warming up left fielder with an occasional inning in at right field. What makes it worse for us..at first we were like..we are his parents so we are biased...was when other parents started to notice that he was playing DS less and less and less. They started asking us what is going on?? Why is he not catching anymore, he is one of the better catchers, etc. Like we have told DS...every once in awhile you just have to get through something, we all face adversity. You keep up the good game face and give 110% no matter where he puts you. It will be interesting to see what happens with the end of the season tournament, as this coach will not be there. The other 2 coaches that have not been there but on a few occasions will be. We will find out then..if it is a personal thing.

Not sure when we are going to get to go out and camp. I need to get the trailer out before our big trip, to get everything set up and ready. June with baseball makes it hard, then the kids have summer camps in July..then the end of July is our trip to Montana. Time is just flying by.

You all have a great day.

Kris

We're camping this weekend also...well sort of.

http://www.yankton.net/articles/2010/06 ... 228971.txt

This is the town and church where we were married...DH's hometown. A whopping 83 residents...just eveyone's dream of a vacation destination! We pulled the rig to Dante last night and stayed over even though it's only 7 miles from where we live. A safety measure because I'm not one to stay up late and party and DH is going to want to party with friends who have returned for the celebration that he hasn't seen in years and this way no one has to drive! ;) So the best solution was just having the rig there...we're only hooked up to a 110 so just lights and fans...luckily it's cool this weekend. I came home this morning to do a few of my weekend chores and then going back later this afternoon.
