RABBITS!!

GOOD MORNING TO ALL THIS FIRST DAY OF JUNE!

It's 65 degrees out there, and overcast. We could really use some rain, but hope we skip the lightning storms that could develop. I don't smell the smoke from the Quebec wildfires this morning, which makes it much easier to breathe. I can't believe it's June already! And I DID remember to say RABBITS! Perhaps this will help bring luck in all aspects of my life as this is to be my retirement month. I need to check my paycheck stub to see how many personal days I have left that I can use in the upcoming weeks. Those days have to be used or lost, unlike sick days that I will get paid a sum for when I leave.

Lots to do to get ready for another 4 days of school here, so this shall be short and sweet. I need to check on the bear site, too, to see what developed overnight.

I hope our June is perfect camping weather for us all! Stop in for some coffee and tell us about your day! It's hot and hazlenut, as usual!

Good morning to all! June 1st begins hurricane season for those of us in FL and other coastal states. Everyone has an eye on developments in the gulf and worried about the effect of storms added to the oil spill disaster. Today they begin their last ditch effort to slow the flow....no longer even hoping to stop it.

We've started our weather pattern of hot, sultry days and afternoon thundershowers. I'm up early this morning to go kayaking before the heat and storms arrive. This is my first time kayaking since my surgery....so I'll get to test out the success on the circulation in my left arm.

Surely this will be my month to begin my summer travels and camping. 3 weeks and counting. I need to replace my house battery in the rv before leaving. Also want to give Wand'rin' Star a good wax job.

Hope you all have a good day, whatever you are doing.

Hi Soos and Liz, and everybody else out there. I'm up early to beat the heat too; went for a walk around the 'hood and soon will go out to golf course to hit a bucket of balls. Later M (DGD's nanny) will bring the girls over to swim. Too much fun!

I'm getting myself together to return to CA next week. DD and DGD are leaving on Sunday for 2 months in France; I'll probably take off that day too. Maybe just as far as Junction and then start my sprint across West Texas on Monday. I'm anxious to get home. The rainy spring has grown a bumper crop of grass that is waiting for me to mow.

Yesterday I had way too much caffeine and was up really, really late sewing. Extra energy is good; I only wish I could spread it out over a few days! :)

On a more serious note.....NK, darling granddaughter, of my dear friends in CA was in a horrible accident on May 1. She is in a coma. Please, please send prayers, white light, healing thoughts to her. Our hearts are broken. Hug your kids/grandkids/everyone you love!

Be safe!

Good-morning, just had to stop by, I love Hazelnut coffee, Thank you Soos !! in a few mins. I plan to go out and do about an hrs worth of work in my yard, before it gets to warm or raining. Sun isn't out, but I am having my breakfast here, just cereal with fruit, but I will surely share. Decided I needed to say hi to all. I have given up on what I had hoped to do outside, as I won't be able to keep it up. Wanted to plant a few things, but they will probably just die and that will make me sad :) , don't think my thumb is too green anymore and not tending things, they are sure to die :( I have accomplished a lot out side, and it does look much better so I am really happy about that.

Now to get caught up on things that are sure to bug me, while I can't do much ;) I have a fairly easy time of not seeing as much as I used too, living alone who cares about some of the chores? LOL

We'll be looking for pics and waiting to hear how your day turned out and if the arm did ok, LIz?

Have a Great day everyone, I heard on the t.v this morning, we are short on our rain amount, but we've had so much, I am glad no more has fallen. My yard is soggy now, probably be a lake if we had the rest of what they say we should have.

Safe and Happy travels, to those on the road, which I think Tina is one, her long awaited outing since Jan.
CArol

Oh, Diana, how sad, will add my prayers that she will come out of the coma and will be fine one day soon.

Our thoughts for strength go out to CA.....Diane.

On the home front, just reading e-mails, waiting for the library to open to pick up a couple of books on tape and return completed books and tapes, clean the kitty litter, pack up some dog food and clean clothes (laundry is done) and find any dogs interested in a road trip and we will be Alabama bound! Blondie will be staying here with her man. She needs to be available for "ride alongs" here in Ohio. Yesterday she got a trip to Bass Pro. I didn't even tell Herschel what he missed. Each of them have their own jobs. Herschels has been guard dog to make people think before trying to take anything from the Bus....apparently there were quite a few thefts from cars and RV at he show site this past long week end.....it is sad because most of us really want to keep our rigs open just encase the critters need to be rescued for any reason...... Okay, library is officially open at 10 I need to get off here and make a run to town.....everyone have a good day whether you remembered to say Rabbits or not!

Good Morning Ladies... it is a warm damp morning here in Normal... we had a good rain yesterday then it cleared off... so the humidity is on and that is good for the crops... and my new plants... I did not have to water them this morning...

I invited a neighbor over for our cook out yesterday afternoon... we wound up inside to eat... she is very lonely or so it appears... and she is only 47... she is like a hermit... so maybe now that the ice is broken she will come out more... we had a very nice time... my daughter made lemon marinated chicken, chi chi rice, also we had salad, corn on the cob and strawberry short cake... mmmm mmm was it ever good...

Bird would you please send me the info on the chair that you had when we camped in Jan in FL? it was very firm but folded up like mine did it was for larger people... and by the way how are the 'twins' lol... nice memories even through the cold we had...

My prayers are with NK in Ca... what a hard hard thing they must be going through... we never know what turn life will take... but we can put our hand in the hand of the man that stilled the waters and walk each step with Him...

Carol so glad to hear from you... wow I should not have been gone from here so long... Liz be careful on those waters... sure scares me to think how many hurricanes they are predicting this year... that will drive the oil spilling into the gulf farther inland... sad sad sad...

Walk carefully this day and enjoy everything...

Kathleen

Healing, warm thoughts headed to California.

Looking forward to seeing you, Tina! Be aware, while I have much time on my hands, I haven't been using it to keep my place clean. That's one of my problems when I "sit" someplace - put things off that I keep up with when traveling. My overcab area looks like a hurricane hit it (that's my storage area). Not that it looks much better when traveling - but it's neater then.

It's muggy here today. Been some rain every day for several days - actually lots of rain most of those days - but just this morning it turned mega-muggy. I hope either the sun comes out to burn some of it off, or it rains to take some of it away. Either works. The good thing about being on the mountain tho, is that we stay considerably cooler than those down below in the city. Amazing the difference. And very welcome for a 'bama summer.

Sure is hard to believe it's already June. Some days can last so long, but the months and years just fly by now. Never stops amazing me.

Hope everyone has a great day.

June 1st already....today we are go through the school books and see what is done. They finished up a few things last week. Then we switch to scaled down school work.
We continue Math, Reading and Writing during the summer months.

Trying to finalize some camping trips with friends. Which has proven to be somewhat difficult, as we both could not plan far in advance and so many state parks..they fill up fast ..the add the complexity of they tent and we RV.

Soos...I will very happily send you the rain...I am ready for a break from the rain. IT is has been a really wet spring here. In fact at baseball this weekend we were saying we should of had baseball season in Jan-March, as it was drier and warmer.

Well I need to get going..have a lot to get done after being gone for 4 days.

I will say..I was wiped out from the weekend and not feeling well...headache,etc. I took a 2 hour nap yesterday 4:30-6:30. Then I thought..I will never get to sleep last night. I started dozing off during the 11pm news and had no issue going to sleep. That is a first..normally if I nap in the late afternoon like that..then I am up until 2-3 am.

Well there might be a bit of morning left, so good Morning All
Healing thoughts heading for the west coast.
Liz - Don't push that arm too much on your first outing. Easy does it for a time or two.
Pop up afternoon and evening thunderstorms in forecast for next several days, then by weekend a bit dryer and down right hot, hot! Not that it isn't already hot but it is going to get worse. Do hope Tina makes it in without having to dodge too many of those storms. Think she is planning to take her time and show up here tomorrow.
Beth - don't worry about your housekeeping, once Tina sees this one, yours will look really good. I decided to clean off the upstairs screened porch for her visit but pretty much left the live-in workshop house alone; besides, if I put everything away would probably not find it again for years
Hope everyone is having a great day.

Sending strong healing thoughts out to CA. and yes, Liz, take it easy this first time around. And Beth, if housekeeping were one of the criteria for people visiting, I'd have always been very lonely

We just arrived in Camden, Maine for a few days and it started pouring. Was great this weekend, but we were not here to enjoy it  Have to check the weather report. We love the state park here, but very expensive. Don't know how long we will stay and then, if the weather gets better, we might go stay at Acadia Nat. Park before entering Canada. carold
