SUNNY, WARM, SNOW DAY!!

GOOD MORNING TO US ALL!

It's sunny! It's warm! (46 deg. F.) It's gonna get into the upper 70s! It's a snow day! How nice to have this unused snow day to spend out in the spring sunshine!

To make my day even neater, I got a call from my son in FL last night telling me that the property owners of the spot they want to buy have come down a total of 10,000 dollars now from their original asking price, and the kids are going for it! Their loan has already been approved by a bank the realtor has chosen for them, at an interest rate of 5. something (he told me but I forget) fixed loan! Their payments will include taxes, insurance, and mortgage, and will be very doable for them! The only thing left to negotiate is a few items the kids would like to see left for them, such as a riding lawn tractor/mower, a large generator, and I forget what else----OR, have the owners agree to pay the closing costs. They should know the end result by tonight. This is a good thing, as they are leaving for a trip to Costa Rica on Sunday with my daughter and her significant other who are flying down today to Orlando to stay with them until they all fly out of there on Sunday. I wish I were going to be there for that celebration! YAHOO!!!! Now Libertas (my trailer) will have a permanent home in FL as well as a permanent home in the Adirondacks, depending on the season, so I will have the best of two worlds as a camper! The place they are buying has 5 acres, a huge spring-fed pond, is all fenced, new house built in 2008 with 4 bedrooms and two full baths, attached completely-finished two-car garage, unattached huge storage shed/garage with overhanging roof and electric service, (Spot to park Libertas!) cul de sac dirt road surrounded by a cattle farm with no houses in sight, and so much more! I am so excited for both of them and for me!

Today I will visit with my daughter later, maybe take a walk with all the dogs, and then head for the city to pick up my trailer with its new tires. A busy and happy day here it is!

May you all have as good a day wherever you are, and stop by for a cup of coffee and tell us about it.

FANTASTIC! for both your family and you, Soos. Seems like your retirement is on track-can't beat 2 great places to call home-and the camping fees aren't too bad either   We will be in Sarasota next winter-so possibly there could be another FL gtg-I missed last year, so hope to see some people this time around. We are still in Watkins Glen, visiting family, friends, hiking, wine tasting, tennis, etc. The weather has been mostly great, with some needed rain. Yesterday and today-clear and sunny, temps in the 80's. Leaving Sunday am for Wellesly State Park in the Thousand Islands for 4 nights and then-either we'll turn left or right. Have a great day-and good luck Liz. Will be thinking of you today. carold

Wooohooooooo Soos - doing the happy dance with you. That's great - and will make your retirement that much easier for you.

Rainy day here - actually rainy/thundery night last night, too. I woke up to Peaches wrapping herself around my head when the thunder got too loud at one point. We walked a bit in the rain this morning - but she didn't do all her business as thunder cracked just once in the sky during our walk and she decided it was time to head home. Rain is supposed to keep up pretty much all day - but change to scattered at some point this afternoon - so will hope for some openings where I can get Peaches out.

Otherwise, will stay inside and be a bum. Lots I can do in here.

Great news Soos! Man I'd like to make a little trip to Costa Rica. Great birding there. However, for my excitement today, I'll head up to Camping World in New Braunfels to pick up a couple of items, then go on to Buda (bueda) to the Cabelas store and pick up a wind breaker - left my in a restaurant and when I went back they didn't have it. So will do that right after I grab a bite of lunch.

Will head out to Kerrvile Sunday to have two Fantastic Fan Vents and covers put on Bunkie. Tuesday I head out for Las Cruces. Will meet up with Karen sometime perhaps in SC or Deming. Doctor on Friday, then on to Paradise to the George Walker House for a few days. Tucson calling for Saturday night birding down in California Gulch. Then back to Paradise, but then it is all kind of paradiscal (word?). It will be hot everywhere but Paradise and it will be lovely on the eastern slopes of the Chricahuas. Okay, now for lunch Diet Dr Pepper and a peanut butter samitch. Hope that you all have a great rest of the day.
