RABBITS!!!!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

RABBITS!!!!

Postby Nasoosie » Sat May 01, 2010 6:53 am

GOOD MORNING ALL ON THIS FIRST DAY OF MAY!

As I woke up in the night and spoke to Molly after midnight, I MISSED saying RABBITS for good luck! Dang! Oh well....maybe for June!

I read the RV Net posts that a friend of mine sent about Duro tires this morning. It sure does sound as if cracked sidewalls is a common problem with Duro tires. Thank heavens I called the RV dealership yesterday afternoon, and ordered the very tires, Goodyear Marathon Radials, that one guy mentioned he uses. I ordered 4 of them, even though Duro has already sent 4 tires to replace the ones I currently have on the trailer. They can send back the rotten ones and keep the new ones for spares for all I care, as they are still under the new waranty that came with the tires I had installed in November. They parts guy said he would ask the owner of the dealership if we could come up with a deal for me on the new ones, and I will be happy for whatever I can get. Even if I get nothing, I will feel much safer to have Goodyear on my trailer rather than Duro! I have no desire to replace any more Duros with more Duros....they are just plain dangerous tires, as others have mentioned, when they get cracked just sitting on boards with the proper pressure, etc., as mine did all winter. 40 miles was all they were ever driven, from RV dealer's to my home! I hope to get an appointment to put them on next Saturday, or at least to drop the trailer off and have them install them during that week so I can pick the whole thing up the following weekend. I have reservations at the KOA nearby for Memorial Day weekend. Thanks for the link, Oldman!

So far, I don't feel any temperatures like 70 out there, and the sky is completely overcast and dark and dreary. It's about 39 right now, and I am hoping that, as the morning wears on, I will see sunshine and feel some warmth! There's not much to do on my chores list for today, other than make a dump run with one bag of throw-aways and a bunch of recyclables.

Molly was starting with her yelping in pain thing again yesterday afternoon when she uses her left hind leg. It happened after she jumped out of the truck, as she was perfectly able to jump up there when I took her to Issy's for a Friday afternoon cocktail hour. I gave her a half tablet of leftover Duromax pain pill, and made her sleep in her pen near the heater for the night. She is perky and seems way better this morning. Neither the vet nor I can figure out what causes this to happen to her every so often, but this time it seemed as if she landed wrong on that leg, or something. Perhpas it's something like a kneecap that gets misaligned, or something. We will skip a walk today, or take a shorter one later on if the sun comes out. It's always worrisome, however, when a fur person is having problems of any kind.

So happy Saturday and Maypole Day----I am remembering one school I was in had a wonderful maypole dance when I was little-----crepe paper streamers of many colors bedecked with tissure-paper flowers we all had made and glued onto the streamers, and flowers we had made pinned in our hair. We danced around the pole, weaving in and out of each other, to some wonderful music that I can't remember any more. What a happy memory that made for me! I wish I had a real photo of it, but my mind is next best.

Dance around your own maypoles today, y'all. THERE IT IS------the sun is comimg out!! YAHOO!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

good morning gals,
no rabbits for me this morning either, such a busy day today, gotta find my black dress
slacks and see if they still fit, if not, it will be my black jeans for sure. I have a
new top just waiting for a chance to be worn, it can go dressy or casual. Gotta get the
curling iron out and do something to my hair, once that stress is taken care of I can
relax and do some normal routine chores until its time to go.
Not worrying about the fridge right now, if its done, its done. One of my friends at
work has a little countertop fridge they will bring me on Monday and I can dig out my
little freezer out of the shed. (hopefully the compressor and seals haven't dried up)
I can live without freezer food, but not refrigerables. Just another little bump in the
road to run over. Will have to wait until I can afford it to replace the fridge.

Morning! And for some strange reason I did remember to say Rabbits this morning! I've a busy day in front of me....tomorrow afternoon is branding day at the farm so I've been appointed chief cook and bottle washer. Already have 10# of potatoes and four dozen eggs cooking for potato salad and deviled eggs. Still can't decided what to make for another salad....DS has told me no pea salad or three-bean salad...should surprise him and just make a bowl of naked jello! Going to make some calico beans and a big pan of brownies too...and whatever else might trip my trigger. DH is going to put the briskets in the smoker tonight.

Ava..the refrigerator dying really sucks. Just what you didn't need. If I remember correctly you said you really didn't plan to take the 5er on the road...have you considered just buying an apartment size refrigerator to replace it? It would be about a fourth of the price. I've read on some other forums that others are using regular household refrigerators for traveling too. Seems to me that it's Home Depot or Lowes that have one fits into the space. When our refrigerator bit the dust in the TT we bought a 5cf Avanti apartment size refrig/freezer rather than another RV refrig. Worked great. It had more room than the 6 cf one that was in the trailer. And now they have a 7.5 cf one and the specs look like it would fit in the opening. Check it out. Avanti RA752PST

Well...better start cooking. Have a great day everyone.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

A friend replaced a refrigerator in her trailer with a Danby that fit in the space for about $300. The trailer is used as a camp and isn't pulled down the road. I have seen that brand at either Lowes or Home Depot. There is also a website www.compactappliances.com that has a big selection of refrigerators.

OOPS! I also forgot Rabbits! Dang, another month down the drain. Need to get out in Hope and shampoo the carpets...BF's dogs aren't as housebroken as he swears they are, then take her over and fill her stomach with that $3.19 per gallon stuff she likes and put her away for a while. Boy, is she gonna be po'd at me, possibly another summer sitting and doing nothing.

Looks like the winds have finally died down here, it's been windy and cold since I got back from Laughlin. Need to post some pictures of that trip.

Ava, sorry about your fridge, but that's a good idea the girls have to put a domestic one in, much cheaper and since you don't have plans to travel in your fiver anyway it would work well for you. LG makes some small ones and they're good reefers, we used a lot of them at work. And their price is reasonable. But then we bought 50 or 60 at a time, so we got a pretty good deal on them.

BF decided not to come yesterday since I had the GD's fur babies here while they went to Yuma to visit family, so got to have lunch with Evie (Pooker) after all. We had a nice visit and got caught up on each others lives, so it was a good day. Hope everyone has a good day and have fun!

Taking a few minutes to check in before going to work at the carnival. We open at noon today and don't close till after 10:00...will be a long day but am thankful we do not have rain.

Sorry to hear about the fridge problems Ava. Sure hope you find one that works for you.

So, why do people say "rabbits" when first waking up on the first day of the month? I never heard of that till this forum.

We are doing well. Missing the grand babies a lot this week. I am going to give them a call tomorrow as we don't go in till 1:00 so that gives me time to get ready and then spend time with them on the phone.

Question, do any of you use Skype? How does it work? I have heard it would be a great way for me to see my kids and grands.

Well, need to get ready to head out the door so will close for now. Hope everyone has a beautiful May Day!

Good afternoon,

I spent the morning helping my neighbor friend paint a bedroom/office in her house. Later I'll go to the Verizon kiosk at the mall to learn how to get my new MiFi wireless to work on other computers. Just finally got it activated on this one. I was browsing there yesterday and remembered that Beth just got one of these, so I stopped to inquire about it. Seems my "new every two" policy on my current aircard was about up, so I got my new MiFi free with a renewal of my 2 year contract. Works for me, as I know I will be using it for another 2 years, as long as I'm still living.

Hope those in its path can avoid damage from the current line of storms coming through the SE.

Liz, make sure to turn it off when you aren't using it - funny how the battery will run down if not :) (spoken from experience in the short time I've had it). I use it plugged in at least once a day. Just in case you had a Verizon person who doesn't know better like I did - when it's plugged into your turned on computer it charges the MiFi. I got told I had to plug it into an outlet to charge and almost didn't take it for that reason. But I didn't believe them - and I was right - hahaha.

Afternoon all. Supposed to be raining here today, but so far just a sprinkle when Peaches and I walked this morning. AND I GOT a picture of a tanager today. Actually got a couple, all somewhat blurry - but hey, it's only taken me a month of being here to really be sure that I got one that it's recognizable that it isn't a cardinal!

Yesterday Peaches and I hiked many, many miles. Don't know how many, but we did one trail that is not a loop - and that trail alone is 2.5 miles. Went past some areas here I haven't been before and took pictures - will up them to the computer later and hopefully get them on my blog today or tomorrow. Have a couple blog posts to do - as I haven't upped pics since my last post. I might have posted the shocked smiley, but you shouldn't be shocked about that.

Its not morning and I am involved in the horses this afternoon :?: Going to be a really yukky tract up there in KY. One day I would love to go and see these races, but until then I will not miss it. I have watched it each yr. , forever I guess. Some of the races, its been really good that I do not live around anyone, when its all over I find myself in the middle of the Livingroom floor, and realize I have been screaming my lungs out

Ava, I really hated to hear your frig. went. Looks like you have some good ideas though to replace it. My trouble, and may be yours, right now would be to find the funds for it. I have had so many repairs to pay for that if my frig. went, that might be the last straw here!! Hope all works out for you, soon.

I always forget "Rabbits" My mind does not function first thing in the morn. I don't even talk to Maggie, right off :? Nice you posted the link for the reason for it, Mitch, for all the new people. We really have a lot of new people, I see, too. I have been very remiss, in my greetings, so will you all except my BIG WELCOME TO OUR FORUM, you hopefully will never regret it(joining the forum) :D My yard is really looking better, my finger is almost healed and with gloves, I do well and really felt good after yesterdays chores out there.

Well, Back to the Horses, just wanted to see what everyone else was doing on this gloomy looking day, rains on its way here and then REAL storms tomorrow afternoon. I could do without them, nicely, thank you

Safe and Happy travels for those lucky enough to be out and about
Carol

as I tried to post, I find two others, Liz and Beth, were posting also, The more the merrier!!! Hello ladies
