SUNDAY AND SUNNY SO FAR

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

SUNDAY AND SUNNY SO FAR

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

Much warmer this morning, although a good stiff breeze out there is making it cold outside. Temp is about 36 degrees. Only electric heater in this trailer, and it's comfy.

Spoke with Beth last night, and she was in the middle of all that storm activity. I sure hope the night went ok for both her and Sparkle.....and for anyone else in the path of that nasty, angry, violent weather front. I am wondering where that system is this morning. We all need to keep our eyes to the skies and those weather radios on when needed.

Yesterday Molly and I took a walk to the pond, and I found my South Beach Diet book in the leanto, where I first felt it was, but I missed it the other day when I looked there. More often than not, WAY more often than not, in fact, my first thought about where something is is usually right, if I go back and recheck. It's annoying to tear things apart when I don't find something where I KNEW it should be----as I did my bookshelves all over this property! Where was the book? In a box inside a protective food box (under the dried foods) at the leanto, to protect it during the winter from mice damage! Sigh!

Today will be a laundry day, and getting into the sun as much as possible, as, although the sun is out now, I can see clouds on the horizons. We will walk the property again, looking for evidence of animal activities in the night. We have tons of deer, rabbits, (who have now turned totally brown from their winter white---technically varying hares) way fewer birds than we used to have, turkeys, coyotes, squirrels, chipmunks, mice, moles, turtle nests all over the dam at the pond, which were either dig up by predators or by the babies digging their way to freedom. There are tons of turtle eggs shells all over those areas. I will also pull up some of last year's dead plant stalks to make room for this year's wild plants to grow. My gardens are all wild things, other than the one rock garden next to the house where my crocuses are. I allow milkweed to grow in there, however, for the Monarch larvae to eat---plus I LOVE the smell of milkweed flowers almost as much as I love lilacs. Speaking of lilacs, it looks as if I will have NO flowers on those bushes this year, for whatever reasons. It sometimes happens that way with those flowers, and I will miss them terribly. I peeked into the swelling buds to see if I could see fetal flowers, and I saw none. Sob.

So the coffee is hot, and the table is ready to have you stop by and leave us a note about your day. I hope to check back later and see tons of neat conversations! Or just a tiny note! Beth, please check in so we can know yours and Jean's rigs made it safely through the night.

Happy Sunday!

Wow, Soos, I'm not early and you're the only post here so far this morning? Sun is out here also. Some here are hoping that the rain will have washed some of the pollen away - I guess it's been worse than normal as they've had less rain than normal for this month. I'm all for the less rain than normal. I am a person who really does love the sun. That said, June is supposed to be the worst month here for storms - so I have that to look forward to.

Jean's antenna won't go up - it's in the wrong position. Someone is bringing a ladder by this afternoon and we're going to see if we can get it up and if her tv can then receive the local channels like mine. It would be nice if she could have them. (Says me who has been watching drivel for days now :) )

Hope you're all having a great Sunday. I'm thinking about being bad and making cinnamon rolls. Will put them out to share with all.

Good Morning, what's left of it.
I sleep in as I stayed up way too late last night.
A beautiful day with temps heading for the 80s this afternoon. Pollen was reported worse here this year than it has been in more than 30 years and last nights storms did a lot to settle/wash away. Even the tree leaves look greener today.
Beth - Alabama is one of the states that has a tornado season that lasts all year. However, it does have two peaks during the year.
The largest peak and often called the "tornado season" is in March and April. The second peak is the last two weeks of October through November. The fall peak is much smaller but is still very noticeable in the records.
Since I got such a late start today, better get moving or it will be Monday.
Wishing all a safe and fun day.

Good Morning ladies, its already mid morning but I wanted to get some stuff done
early and I refused to turn on the computer until I had it done. So a little relaxing
on my favorite forum and then its out in the yard to do weeds. We are having nice
spring weather so I might even wash the car but that depends on how energetic I
feel after doing weeds. I'm usually only good for one heavy duty chore a day
but I can do lots of little easy chores and generally like to stay busy because it is
just too easy to vegetate on the computer playing games.
Refill on my coffee and a little brunch of eggs and toast. YUM.
Enjoy your day and be safe. Hope nobody blows away.

I swear I heard one of the weathermen last night say that June is the worst month of the year for rain and tornados in this area. It surprised me - but I figured he knew what he was talking about. I figured spring and fall - and just now doing a search online, that's what I got - spring and fall for the worst. SInce Alabama seems to think that everything gets pre-empted by a storm coming through, I had nothing else to listen to or watch!

I've always lived in states with tornados - been involved in 3 of them myself - with damage to the bldg I lived in twice, and a friend killed in one when I was in high school. Seen the damage and been around many others. For some reason, I don't have the fear of them they want me to have. But I do have respect for them. And now, after spending a year on the gulf coast in TX - I've been around hurricanes and tropical storms. Similar, but much more advance warning - although it takes till the last 24 hours before they usually get the path right.

I'm expecting many more days and nights here with thunderstorms and possible tornados. Just a part of life in this part of the world.

Good afternoon Ladies,

My first "Morning Coffee" post. :D

A beautiful day, the sun is bright, with slight windy conditions. Went to Church today, then back home to relieve my sister from Dad sitting. She was going wedding dress hunting with her daughter, my niece. :)

I scrubbed the bathroom, washed clothes and now catching up on email and forums. It has been a catching up and relaxing day.

I hope everyone had a good day, too!
