FANTASTIC FRIDAY

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

FANTASTIC FRIDAY

Postby Nasoosie » Fri Apr 23, 2010 6:24 am

GOOD MORNING ALL!

It's only 16 degrees out there this morning, but the sun is coming up strong in a cloudless sky. There is heavy frost all over, looking like a light snow. I am happy to have the day off----thank you, snow day lack of use!

I will call the Ford dealers this morning as they left me a message saying they might have time to finish hooking up the wiring in my truck cap that runs the top outside running ight on it and the inside reading light. We shall see. When I get back here, I will tackle the job of my lawnmower, trying to get its parts cleaned and running better than last year.

Kath, I am so sorry to hear the news about your sister. I am glad her family is able to be with her, however, even though they wish to be alone with just immediate family. It was good that you got to see her before she got to her final hours, and that could spend time with her that you both needed.

It's cold enough this morning that I ran the furnace out here to get things warmed up so the electric heater can try to keep up the temperature. I only have that running on low, and could trun it up if I need to.

After my bone scan the other day that showed an improvement in my bone density, ( :) )I decided to resume my once a week Fosamax regime despite hating to have to drink a glass of icky, cold water before my warm, tasty coffee! So coffee is getting ready, and I have about another 10 minutes to wait for it.

I gave my student, Kylie, a gift yesterday, as it was her last day with us. (the one whose dog was stabbed to death by her neighbor on the first day of school) After trying to decide what to give her, I took my lucky sterling silver necklace with a black pearl encased in it and put it on her, asking if she would wear it for good luck at her new home. She looked pleased with it, and thanked me, but, with Kylie, it is very hard to read her emotions as she has become so totally withdrawn and unable to feel anything. I will worry about her.

Here's hoping you all will stop by and share your day's activities with us. I will check back later this afternoon to see what's up. Those of you on the road please keep an eye to the skies in the plains states as I see tornadoes on the weather news. Happy Friday, everybody!

I am in Charlotte, NC. Waiting to meet up with Daughter Kate and her Lucas to head over to the courthouse and watch them get married. Tomorrow their good friend is performing the "official" ceremony or everyone...only Andy's license isn't legal in NC....small detail. The weather reports are all for cloudy days and probable rain...not necessarily good for the outdoor wedding and and reception prt tomorrow but, it will be what it will be.... :) They will be just as married rain or shine. My step sister is flying in this afternoon and then will be driving back to CIncinnati with us and visit a few days with her mother before the big surgery. There is still some questions if the doctors will let the surgery go forward because of some thyroid values that came bacj in the presurgery blood work. Regardless, Libby needed to come visit her mother.

I am missing my dogs. There is a hole in my day and routines....no puppies to be responsible for and to talk to. The schedule and rythmn of the day is so different. My dog radar is aways monitoring what they might be doing or need.....now nothing. Well it is only till Sunday night! :) Now you know how weird I really am.....

Hope everyone gets some of what they need accomplished, done today. (unless you're like Carolinagal and try to slice off a finger with the gardening tools :? She will not get her yard work done nearly as fast now!) Guess she will have to walk Maggie, watch flowers bloom and read good books....such punishment.

Travel full of grace....there are no dress rehersals for our journeys....

Finally on here early for a change! I decided to take the day off today to get my resume's updated and start looking for a new job since my office job is nearly done and the hair job is going nowhere. Hopefully, I can find something that pays decent and is full time so I can get caught up financially a little. I am starting to sell some of my bigger furniture to help pay for car repairs, etc and get rid of it for my (hopefully) upcoming move to CA.

Also need to go shopping for a b-day present for my daughter for our visit on Sunday! Can't wait! I am sure she has grown a lot in the past year!

Hope everyone has a good day and try to keep all your fingers in tact, whatever you may be doing!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Taking my time getting Oh of bed this morning. It feels so good under the warm covers! Nights are still chilly here, but nothing like you have there, Soos!!! Had a great day yesterday. Took a nice morning walk with Rags around the Dyersville neighborhoods, then decided to move Myrtle down behind the tire place. Construction crews were moving in equipment at the park and I didn't want to get blocked in under the water tower. Couldn't get her started for awhile. Thought I was going to have to use my new road service from Camping World! Darn security system!!! Will likely have someone disable it this summer. Should have had Barbie's mechanic friend, Mike, do it. I go our he instruction card and called the number, only to find the number disconnected! More reason to have it disabled. Finally got her started and moved. Took my bike down and had a nice 14 mi ride on the Heritage Trail. Very peaceful on a weekday! Stopped by a babbling brook for my snack before heading back. Wanted to stop at Bill's for a beer (sign on the trail), but there was major road construction when I got into the town so I went back to the trail. Darn! It sounded so good at the time! Anyways. ..got back to Myrtle and we took off for an hour's drive to Evandsdale, IA. We are at a nice county park with full hookups for only $15! Can't beat that with a stick! The camp host came by to collect and had a nice visit wih her. She and her husbamd have been doing this for 18 yrs! They winter in FL. Used to come over to the park after work at the police dept, now here all day. Had a nice walk down by the river and around the park with Rags. Ate late again and enjoyed feeling at home; -) Took a nice shower in here and shaved my shaggy legs. Slept like a log!

Leaving to Saylorville today. Only a couple hour drive so no hurry...obviously! Overcast, but not the thunderstorms they predicted. Hopefully not for the drive, either. Will finally meet my new bosses and get my temp site. Still no elec to our site in the recreation area! Will only have elec at our temp site so have to DJ the filling/dumping thing for awhile. At least I won't be too busy yet with the rec area still closed. Guess the public is getting angry since it didn't even flood! They want to get in there and fish and picnic. Will be a delay in pay til mid June now so hate to have to use a credit card, but hopefully I will have enough to pay it off with my paycheck. Well..better get my lazy butt Oh o bed and take my buddy, Rags for his morning walk. Glad he's patient! He is finally acting/feeling back to normal again. Over the diarrhea and mopineness and being so jumpy. Been letting him go off leash when I can and it perked him up. He even did a mad puppy dash back and forth through the mh yesterday. .surprised me! I know all of these changes are hard or both of us. We will be happy to see Gizmo again on Sun!
Linda, Rags, and Brutus full-timing it in our 2017 Winnebago Micro Mini, Thumbelina.

Well...we got the TT dropped off at the shop yesterday..for the annual and then the completed inspection, as we have had it for 3 years now and figured it was time to have a very through inspection of everything, getting compartments and windows resealed. Getting the new window put in. No more broken window. We kept it duct taped over all winter. There are duct tape marks on the outside...I mentioned it at the shop..that I wish duct tape had not left the sticky residue. Well one of the shop guys was like..no problem..he goes in the shop and comes out with a spray bottle...and off the stuff comes..with ease. I was really impressed with this shop. I think we have found a place we like. We were there for 1 hour..just for drop off as they went through things and did a quick look over. We have to drop off the new cabinet doors, we never did get them installed last year. I am so afraid to install them..honestly...because we plan to sell this rig in 2 years, I really hope the new one's do not split over the winter like the originals have. If they do..I hope the company stands behind them again.. (actually the company had to special order them..they do not use that cabinet maker anymore..I think I know why??)

Well my mom fly's in today from Idaho. She is coming out for my older DS, Ethan's Eagle Court of Honor on Saturday. He actually finished everything last year...but was waiting for his friend to get all his stuff done so they could have the Court of Honor together.

Zeke has his first baseball game on Sunday.
Mychal's Dance Team, is doing a fundraiser on Saturday early afternoon,,,Learn to Ballroom Dance with the Bellingham Stars.

Kodie has horseback riding later today. It is so exciting when spring finally comes around she gets back to riding her horse "Cloudy". The riding center does not have a covered arena, so they can only do sessions in the SPring, Summer and Fall.

Well I better get off here and start getting some work done.

Afternoon all. We were supposed to have a very noisy night of T-storms and possible tornadoes. They thankfully missed us. Not a peep. We should get some later this afternoon. The storms are pushing eastward, so watch out everyone in their path, be careful and take precautions. Not much going on here, just the usual light housework. (Anything heavier would certainly cause injury. :D :D ) Linda
