THURSDAY (FRIDAY FOR ME TODAY!)

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

THURSDAY (FRIDAY FOR ME TODAY!)

Postby Nasoosie » Thu Apr 22, 2010 4:34 am

GOOD MORNING ALL!!

We get tomorrow off to use up one of our snow days that we never used this winter, so today is like a Friday, and is a jeans day! YAHOO!!

It's a nippy morning, with temperatures back down to 25 F. after a warm, sunny day yesterday. Molly is lying next to the Monitor heater in here, as it got chilly in the trailer! I knew it was cold when I felt her trying to burrow into my sleeping bag with me.

My finger is quite a bit less swollen today, but is still black and blue.....still can't use it for anything useful yet. So much easier than ribs to heal up!

I need to try to repair my lawnmower this afternoon after school....will try to remove the spark plug and clean it off, and clean all the filters, from gas to air. Maybe I can get it to start easier than last year. I may have to replace the spark plug, even. How do you tell if you need one?

Thanks for all the congrats and pictures from everybody yesterday! By the way, Mitch, my stool was nothing as innocuous as that nice wooden one! This was a dark green steel bar/chair/stool that someone had knocked over around the fire, and it was totally invisible in the dark! Those steel struts did a great job on the ribs! OUCH! I can still feel the pain! And you can bet that I will be back to dancing around the fires as soon as possible!

I slept late, so am running late and need to get moving here. Coffee is Hazlenut, so stop by and let us know what's up......Happy Thursday/Friday!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Soos...it's Friday for me too! I'm maxed out on my annual leave and have to take a day off tomorrow to get it below 240 hours. But I get to wear blue jeans everyday! ;) This afternoon after work I'm heading to Mitchell to spend the night with my BGF who owns a greenhouse. Tonight I'm taking her out for supper at our favorite Chinese restaurant...her BD was the 4th and I forgot to even give her a card. Tomorrow I get to play in the dirt all day! My job is going to be planting pots for Memorial Day. I love doing it...it's so relaxing. DH and Radar have to fend for themselves until I come home tomorrow night!
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

It is a cool beautiful day so far here. Love this early morning cool and low humidity.

We are ready for the spring storms as our generator was installed yesterday! So glad to have that over, having workmen around is always loud as the dogs watch and bark at their every move. I was trying to distract the dogs with their new toy, it is a duck that you shoot like a slingshot and when it hits the ground it sounds like a woman screaming. I tossed it a couple of times and my DH said, just as I had the same thought, the guys working in the basement are going to wonder if they need to come and save you. We did have a bit of excitement as they finished up the installation, they had to blow out or bleed the gas line and the house and yard filled up with the gas smell.Thankfully it was a windy day and the yard soon cleared and I got the dogs outside. It took the house a lot longer to clear and we spent a good part of the afternoon in the yard. I think for once the dogs had their fill and wanted to go back inside, I know I was ready. Or course this happened while my DH had gone out to do errands.

A couple more minutes and morning will be over here. But that doesn't mean I haven't done anything yet. Peaches and I doubled our morning walk today. I decided after we were heading back that we needed to hike a trail we'd not done before - so off we went. She loves all the trails, but especially likes ones that she's never been on - must be the "new" scents. I cheated and let her off leash for awhile, too. She was one happy dog.

Have been making phone calls and doing chores, etc - and time is just getting away from me. More errands, etc to fill the day and since I have to get up earlier than normal tomorrow - will try to get to bed earlier than normal tonight. Why can't it work like that? Will, instead, be working on less sleep tomorrow - and then still won't be able to go to be early tomorrow night either. Only time I can do that is when I'm boondocking - then for some reason, my body gets in synch with the sun and moon. Strange.

Good mid-day to all

Must be something in the air, Beth - I did not sleep well last night and with all the construction next door, sleeping late this morning was not an option.

A few errands to take care of this afternoon and meeting an old friend this evening who is in town for a short visit with her children who still live here (she moved to TX several years ago). Looking forward to seeing her for a few hours.

HELLO SISTAHS!!!

Yeah I know it's not morning. Quite day here today. Now yesterday was a totally different thing. Had a HUGE wind storm here yesterday. Gads!! Thought I had left them things in Blythe. ~sigh~ Only one good thing about it was that there was no dust and dirt all over everything. Just sand. The really rotten thing about the wind storm is that my tent bit the sand! I have no idea if there's any save to it? Couldn't check and do anything with it yesterday as the wind did not quit until after dark. But it snapped a main pole. Which in and of it's self isn't to awful horrible as I have extra poles I can use to replace the broken one. But when the pole snapped it poked a hole in the tent fly and ripped from top to bottom.   Gonna get my big roll of duck tape out and look the damage over to see if I can at least temporarily repair/tape the rip. And hope that it will work until it's time to go back to the lodge. I am majorly bummed out over this as I really, really liked that tarp. Soooo, had to transfer my mattress and blankies to Kelly's tent to sleep last night. The whole day yesterday must have been more stressful than I realized cause when I went to bed I slept like a dead thing!!! It got really chilly here last night too. When I went to bed I took the little ele space heater with me and used it in Kelly's tent. OMG! That felt so good to get the tent warmed up as my hands and feet were frozen. Kelly said the tent was nice and warm for her when she finally came to bed. And also said THANKFULLY that I was not snoring so she was able to go right to sleep. There is no way at this late time of camping that I am gonna buy a tent. If there is no save to the fly I will just have to use a tarp to cover my tent. They don't make this style anymore and even if they did? It's made in England so any fly I was to order sure the heck wouldn't get here in time anyway. ~sigh~ Besides if we do manage to pick up an RV I wont need a big tent!!! Later on sometime I will look into getting another tent but will only need a smaller one for an over night site seeing trip.

Hope everyone has a fantastic day. Ya'll be careful and safe in whatever ya'll are doing.

Love to all
