WINTER WEDNESDAY??

GOOD MORNING EVERYBODY!
Ford dealers installed my camper cap on the new truck yesterday----a perfect fit now. They did a great job cutting the back door down to fit the new design of the tailgate.
Side shot.
A perfect fit now!
It's 17 degrees outside, although the trailer has been very comfy with the electric heater on all night. I definitely sleep better out there than I did inside all winter. I am hoping to get the road to the pond clear of downed trees by the time the peepers wake up and sing their spring mating calls-----that sound is one of my most favorite in the world, and I want to spend some nights in the leanto which is really like sleeping outside but in a real bed! I also need to see about getting the Kicker running, if it is to be running ever again. That vehicle is one to take my 'stuff' to the pond rather than using my new truck before I get the tree branches cut back and the route down there trimmed.
The latest video of Hope and Lily playing again is clearer today---I guess they are learning how to better use those new digital cameras. I have a mug ordered from the bear gift shop so I can get my morning chuckle every morning when I have my coffee and view that sweet face of baby Hope. I chose the one with the picture of Lily lying down under the rotten log with Hope looking on, as that's the picture I am using for my wallpaper/desktop on this computer also. The eagle webcam is beautiful and a wonderful thing to be able to see eaglets growing up in the nest, but that live bear cam of Lily and Hope in their winter den will always remain a highlight in my life. Thank you again to whomever it was who first sent that link----I am thinking it was Mary, Dunloggin.
As it's the 14th of April now, I made out my two checks to pay what I owe both feds and NY State for income taxes this year. I will get those in the mail today, and it will break my heart. I am using Chase credit card checks to pay each of them, and will now have to work on paying the debt all off by November when the 0% interest offer runs out. Next Monday will be the day the school board decides how much to offer us geezers to retire, and what language will be used to define that money for NY State Teachers' Retirement to include it in our final salary year. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
I hope your poochies haven't broken free of your yard again, Carol! What an ordeal! And didn't you just put in a doggy door, too, so they can get out of the house whenever they choose?
I can't remember when Liz said Roe's foot surgery is scheduled, but I hope all goes perfectly for him. I am wondering about subscribing to health insurance for Molly for when I get out onto the road. I have some info on it, and will have to check prices and come to a decision.
I got my favorite campsite at the KOA for 4 nights on Memorial Day weekend! It has water and electricity and cable TV, and is right next to a shower and bathroom facility, as I won't have any water in my trailer at that point. I use my pee bucket and jugs of drinking water. I used to live in the town where the campground is, and so will let my friends know when I will be there. It is about the only time of the year I ever see them any more, and we usually sit around a campfire and play our various instruments. Granted, the cost is expensive for the sites, but I only do it once or twice a year, and it's worth it for me to visit with long-time friends. I also bring my bike to ride the roads and trails. I might even try to pack my little light canoe and outriggers to paddle me and Molly around the dammed up lake and parts of the AuSable River that is calm. That way I can get used to getting the canoe in and out of the trailer, if it will fit in there for travel. I know I can carry it in the bed of the truck, but would prefer to have it closed up. That's more than a month away.
Coffee is hot, so stop by and let us know what's up in your world. I see that MT is having a blizzard today! I am so hoping it doesn't head our way! Happy Wednesday!
