TUESDAY WITH POURING RAIN
Posted: Tue Mar 23, 2010 4:27 am
GOOD MORNING TO US ALL!
Tons of rain coming down, and it has been doing so all night long. Should be a real joy getting to my truck this morning! I am thinking I should probably go down cellar and find the fishing waders I know are there somewhere! At least the road salt will be all washed off from the topside of the truck, although I'll still need to take it to the do-it-myself car wash and slosh out the undersides.
I've been awake for over an hour since I awoke from a dream of packing a HUGE amount of camping stuff, including wet tents, sleeping bags, clothing, stoves, you name it, into a teeny little hatchback car I once had years ago! Things were going on in the background that had my brain reeling when I woke up-----storms, lost dogs, lost kids, deadlines that weren't being met, such as being late to classes or school or work, tents ripping, stakes missing, things not fitting into the teeny little trunk area------holy cow, but I am tired now! Maybe Echo's and Kelly's escapades have made me have these dreams!
Our pathological liar kid, who had been making such good progress at school, has regressed, stolen some money, lied about it, and gotten himelf assigned to internal suspension. This, for a kid with hyperactivity syndromes galore is akin to putting me, a claustrophobic, into a room with no windows and no exits. Needless to say, he has given the proctors of said room such grief he has extended his stay in there, thus making him even worse. When on earth will people in charge learn how to handle punishments for bad behavior without aggravating the entire situation by putting a kid into a corner from which he cannot escape? Unfortunately, as he is the loudmouth and major disruptor of our classroom, everybody else has had a calm and quiet few days while he has been absent. This makes the motivation to help that kid return to the room just a bit less important.
My comatose girl and her keeper of some type had a meeting with me (as the other assistant was absent yesterday and so I was actually included in a meeting!!) and the classroom teacher after school yesterday. Apparently the girl is now eligible for some more Social Secutity Disability monies each week, and the keeper wants us to help her pick out a computer for her to use at home. The girl, of course, is all excited about the computer, but the teacher and I emphasized the need for her to have access to healthier foods and new/second-hand clothes to cover her balooning body. The keeper had one thing on her mind, and that was the computer. Also, the girl had asked the keeper to find out if she could drop health class and gym classes, as they were causing her to have panic attacks! This is pure bull pippies, as I am with her in both of those classes. Good grief, those are the two classes she takes that she needs the most in order to survive to her 20th birthday. Both the classrrom teacher and I refused to even hear of such a request.
No wonder I have exhausting dreams!
Drive carefully, anybody out on those roads, and watch for flooding rains again in the east.
Come share a cup of coffee, and tell us about your day!
