1st Sunday in Spring!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

1st Sunday in Spring!

Postby bikerchic777 » Sun Mar 21, 2010 7:01 am

Well, after a gorgeous first day of spring here yesterday, it is thunderstormy this morning :( At least it's not the windy, treacherous kind...just calm, but very dark! Not sure what I'll do today. First off, I better eat some breakfast since I have been up since 6:30 and it is now after 8:00. It just started raining harder, so think I will do that and stall a bit before heading out with the boys for our morning walk. I am so happy that they are patient! I have a feeling we are going to get soaked today

Good Morning, BC, and all!

It's below freezing here still, and cloudy. No new snow piling up as yet!

I missed Cedar by about 5 minutes yesterday, but attended three RV shows in the area. I found a trailer I LOVE, ----Keystone Bullet lightweight----but it's got so much wasted space with an entire bunk room I don't need. I am thinking I could use that part for an office/computer room, as it is really an entire extra room with a fold-down sofa, window, TV hookup, cabinet, storage, etc. It's a 2009 model, new, and on sale, as they want to move it off the lot. Unfortunately, it's 33 feet long! But lighter than my 19 footer I have now! Keystone Hideouts are heavy, as I have discovered in my shopping travels. When I bought it, I had no clue about anything, other than that I thought I wanted shorter. My original was 27 feet. This one I love now is 6 feet longer than my original! However, if I am going to park it for 6 months at a time somewhere warm, that will be just fine. Another model made by Keystone Bullet is too good and too perfect, having everything I could ever want in a trailer/house.....and it's shorter (27' 11") with no bunk room, but two swivel rockers and a wonderful living area. Both models have a tub----an essential for me! Probably costs a small fortune, too.

So here I am, inside for another weekend, ready to do laundry and perhaps see Mandy, my daughter this morning before she returns to her home. I have only 4 days of school this week, and then my spring vacation begins----two full weeks plus a 3-day weekend thanks to one of our unused snow days. And nowhere to go by myself.

Coffee is hot and good----no pistachio muffins at Walmart grocery store yesterday, so I am saved from pigging out! Stop by and tell us about your day! Hope nobody gets too wet or too cold or too snowy today!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

The problem with a tub Soos, is getting enough water to fill it. I have a tub, but can only get about 4" of hot water in it. Anybody else have better luck on that?

Good morning Ladies! It's raining here in Blaine, WA...a far cry from the glorious sunshine we had the last couple of days. But at least it's not snowing and the wind is not blowing. For that I am thankful.

Today is the day! This morning we are doing the last minute stuff: unhooking the water hose, took the screen off the front window, picked up the outside rugs, turning the electrical power off and making sure all the cubbies are locked all around the motor home.

Then we are off to drop off the suburban for six months. A young couple that we know is going to keep it until we get back. It helps us and helps them too as they are expecting their second little one in June and they currently just have one small car. By using our suburban it gives them a few extra months to find the right second car for them.

Next stop will be church. I am looking forward to celebrating our Lord with our Northwood family and friends. We hope to be on the road about 12:30. We will be on the road for about six hours as we have a few stops to make along the way: the credit union, Costco for gas and a few grocery items, then Winco (a grocery store that has great prices) and then we will be in Chehalis Thousand Trails for tonight and Monday night.

Tuesday afternoon we will go to Three Rivers Mall in Kelso/Longview where we start our new jobs at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

Talk to you all soon. I look forward to sharing our new adventure with all of you. If you want to read my latest blog, check out www.ali1257.blogspot.com Feel free to leave a comment or two.

Good morning everybody
little chilly this morning but if ya stand in the sunshine its not bad :D
only in Arizona do ya run the furnace at night and turn the a/c on in
the afternoon, (yes, I caved and turned on the a/c yesterday)
Sparkle, my tub is the same way, not enough hot water to fill the dang
thing, have even thought of installing one of those "hurry hot" type
dealies just for the tub.
Got the weeds done in the front, and some in the back but will finish
up the back today. Cleaned up a bunch of winter debris that was
residing in the cracks between the cement slabs, looks much tidier
now.
Got some yarn put away and still sorting more. Will have to go to the
grocery store today to get my essentials and also stopping by daughters
to pick up my carpet shampooer, its little, but it will have to do. The
big one I had finally gave up the ghost and I'll have to replace it when
I can afford it.
Time for a refill on the coffee and make a little toast for the tummy.
Enjoy your day and be safe.

Morning! Not much to say...it's about 34 and sunny hopefully we get into the high 40's today.

Since we are always dry camping and use the campground facilities for showing I've never tried to take a bath in one of our rigs. But there is a couple who are full-timers and have a lot with hook-ups in town they stay about 3 months every year. She said she often yearns for a bath but has the same problem with the water heater, so she has one of those huge blue speckled coffee pots that she will fill and heat to almost boiling...then she fills the tub until she drains the hot water heater then pours the water from the coffee pot in to complete the fill. Says she doesn't do it often..but it does the trick when she REALLY wants to take a bath instead of a shower! She only used to do it when her husband was going to be gone for awhile because he thought she was nuts...until he had a boil on his butt and needed to soak!
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Good Morning all,

It is back to rain and cool temperatures. I am a love winter person...when we get a real winter, but now I am ready for spring and summer to come. Winter had it chance and left me disappointed.

I love RV shows. I did not make it to any this year. We really do not have any that are close. I would love to start thinking and looking and getting ideas for the next one..I love to dream and look and dream.

Not much happening here today. DS is suppose to have Baseball Practice, but we will see...it depend on what the how bad the rain is at that point.

DH is meeting someone that is interested in the old car...I really hope we get it sold soon.

I will be doing some shopping and such.

I like the fact that my little MH has the tub. Not that I'd ever use it (tried that in our 5th wheel and it's like bathing in a bucket), but it makes for a good storage place when traveling and I feel it contains the water better when showering.

Yep, our glorious sunshine is history at I awoke to clouds and I see it has rained during the night. It's typical NW weather and I know that in a few weeks time we'll be back to sun. (fingers crossed anyway).

I didn't sleep well last night. I slept in fits and finally nodded off around 3:30. Woke up at 7:30. Perhaps it's my subconsious creeping in as I asked my X ;) to help me with replacing the battery in my MH. My SIL is busy and I hated asking him to drive the 70 mi RT to help when my X is close and retired. This is the first I've asked him for anything since the divorce 5 yrs ago. I thought it through and felt that since my X is very knowledeable about anything mechanical I can also get him to show me a few things that I've had questions about on my rig.

So far only coffee brewing. Later I think I'll have my yogurt with fresh berries. I have plenty if you're interested.
Have a blessed day!

Good Morning All
Spring is really struggling to get here. We are still having temps way below normal tho Friday was a beautiful exception. Back to rain and cool again but one can almost see the grass growing. Spring blooms are about a month behind schedule but coming along finally. Actually, I'm hoping we have a prolonged cool spring (warmer than now but on the cool side) as that reduces chances for tornados and might give us a break in the high utility bills of late. My little patch of winter rye grass will last longer too; love the delicate green color of new grass.
Hope you have a warm safe day whatever your plans may be.

Sounds like I am the only one with sunshine today! It is suppose to get around 50 as well, so a very nice day! I am still thinking about heading out to take photos of the river. If I do, I will post them later.
No heat in here yet...woke to a pretty chilly morning in here (had my electric blanket on the bed last night just in case...) but now with the sun shining in thru the windows it has warmed up nicely. I will have to wait until tomorrow to get the furnace looked at. It will be a good excuse to put a fire in the fireplace tonight to keep it warmer in here until they can fix the heat.

Still kind of dragging from this cold I've had for the past week. Not much energy or motivation to do anything. Maybe a walk would do me good!

Have a good day, in spite of the rain, ice and cold out there!

Interesting notes about tubs. i'm looking at changing rigs and kind of wanted a tub but not so much to take a bath, although that would be nice, but like Lenora said to contain water in shower little better. In my current rig, Never use shopwer cause water gets all over the place. It's right in the middle and riased up about 18" from rest of floor. Also though it might be nice if I needed to bathe the dog for some reason. I always like to hear from people who actually have the features I think I want.

Barbie...I think being outdoors in the sun will perk you up! Sounds like you need a few vitamins from the sun ;) Though the high rivers are cool to look at, I'm praying it doesn't flood at Saylorville Lake back in IA, where I will be working for the summer...as long as my area isn't flooded!
Soos...I knew you would see something you like at the RV show! That camper sounds nice :) I bet they would even take yours in on trade ;) Let us know if you get it!
As for a tub...What is that :?: You did have to go and mention that :x Now I'm thinking about it and how nice it would feel to take a nice warm bubble bath on this rainy day. My mommy will let me take one in her tub back in IA :D It's nice to have connections for many reasons 8-)
Would someone please give me a list of abbreviations everyone uses on here and what they stand for? :?

I went to an RV show yesterday. Not in the market for a new one but always like to look. There were a few motorhomes and trailers with bunk slides. I don't think I had seen that before. The best idea I saw was where they made a small second dinette in the bunk slide and the top bunk was up against the ceiling. There was a small TV across from it on the wall. Would be a good place for kids to play games and be out of the way. Saw a class C where they had made like a lounge out of the back bedroom and the sofa made the bed. Don't know how comfortable it would be but it looked like a good idea.

I think if all of us girls put all of our likes and needs in an RV together, we could design the perfect RV  Somehow, I don't think mfrs consult with RVing women when they design them!

We know that the manufacturers do not consult with women RV'ers. The sad part is that most of them don't appear to consult with anyone who lives in or uses a rigs regularly...... :?
