Finally, its Friday

Good morning gals, and what a long week its been for me. Not enough to do makes
it seem longer. We're finally getting some nice weather although its still chilly in the
mornings, the afternoons are nice and it won't be long until the heat kicks in so I'm
trying to enjoy the coolness now. I'm sure the whole country is eagerly awaiting spring,
but with so much snow all over and the weird weather we've had there will be lots of
flooded areas as the spring thaw begins.
Whats everyone up to these days? I know Amy (ladyhawk) is getting ready for her
trip, Amy, don't forget your camera, Barbrarose, sorry about your nephew.
Echo and Kelly??? where are you girls?
Coffee is hot and the bagels are toasted. Enjoy.
Have a great day and be safe.

Good morning, Ladies!

I'm up and waiting for the worker boys to come and finish our "Fitness Center". Man, they're slow! He thought they'd be finished this past Monday! Floor is looking nice. The walls are, well, not so nice. I wish now I'd never let him put up that cheap paneling. I believe I will regret it at some point in the future. Heck, I regret it now, but it still looks mostly okay.

I called Directv to order a new HD DVR for the workout room. First girl said, sorry, no current deals, price is $200 + $50 installation + $50 "handling fee" (?). I said sorry, not today. Called back, got someone else. Asked what he could do for a loyal customer. Said I could have HD DVR INSTALLED for $103. Sold. I just don't get how that works. Same with airline reservations...just keep calling back until you hear what you want. But I'll guess it's not quite the same as when I traveled all the time a few years ago. The times, they are a changing.

So, for breakfast this morning, The Blue Marlin is serving a 'healthier' version of its signature sandwich, The Egg McMarlin. This healthier version has turkey sausage, fake eggs, slice of American cheese, and a Healthy Life High Fiber bun - 250 cals, 15g carbs, 11g fat, 840mg sodium. Dang, that sodium is so hard to control. And this sandwich wasn't as good as the real thing, but it was pretty close and a great treat.

it's Friday! Jeans day and payday! :D

Tomorrow I'm having lunch with a former co-worker before i retired, (and then started working part time here at the schooll) Then I will enjoy the weekend doing some yard work if we don't get rain. Almost all the snow is gone, with just some dirty left-over snowbanks from the plows. The yard is bare.

Hope you are all having a great day!

Mitch, you and I were trying to post at the same time,... I think that's funny about the DTV calls,.... it's good you called back. And your b'fast sandwich doesn't sound bad at all. Guess I'll get some turkey sausage.

Spent alot of time last night and this morning thinking about my nephew Jeff. I feel so bad for him. He must be scared to death! The results of the PET scan today won't be available til Monday so it will be a long weekend for all of us, waiting.

Still raining after 4 days with another week or so predicted of rain and 50+ degrees, so the snow is disappearing fast. As Cedar said, just mostly snowbanks left now. Of course, the flooding is imminent. A river just west of me is expected to hit flood stage any day now. The lake ice will be out early this year if this weather keeps up. They got the ice houses off just in time.

Gotta get back to work (what little there is for me today)...

Have a great Friday!

Mitch, thanks for sharing the breakfast stuff and Ava for starting the coffee. I remembered the down side of the warmer weather trend. No more baggy sweat shirts and sweaters to hide the love bags under. I would say handles but mine are just not that small. Going to Curves has made me feel more flexible....getting up and down off the floor, etc. but my jeans are feeling tighter. Could be just the change in weather.....sigh.... Another road trip with the Mother today. Back to another doctor. She really really wants to have her painful knee replacement....replaced.....but at 88 and in fragile health the doctors are trying to tell her it is not a good idea to undergo any kind of surgery. SHe is moving towards assistive living either way. If she has any kind of surgery she will need to go back into a rehab facility and I have strong doubts if she will ever make it back to a less restrictive support environment. Oh well, Need to let the puppies out to play in the yard before I head off on t=some errands.... Have a good day!

Morning,
Can you say RAIN!?!? It poured all day yesterday and we are due more until Sunday. I guess we are below average for precip. this winter, so it's a good thing.
Just coffee for me so far but my tummy is telling me it needs something more. I guess I'll have my usual oatmeal w/banana as I have one banana that needs to be eaten. I should give your Blue Marlin sandwich a try, Mitch. I'm needing a change up.
At 10 this morning I see my regular Dr to find out about my BP meds. I don't like NOT taking anything as I am borderline high, but I just can't take the one I have any more.
Barbie, thanks for the update on Jeff. I can't even imagine what he's going through. My neighbor's sister is also awaiting some kind of action. She found an egg sized lump in her abdomen. So far they hospitalized her and put in an IV. That's been around 5 days ago!! They were suppose to do a CAT scan or perhaps an MRI, I forget. Probably waiting for her insurance for an ok. I'm so fed up with insurance companies!!
Have a super day everyone! Look out for #1!

Well, my bags are packed. I'm ready to go. (sing it!) I'm leavin' on an rv, don't know when I'll get out of here. Oh girls, I hate to go....

Anyway, I took your advice and I'm heading out right after work to knock off some of the miles. Atlas-check. Cell phone-check. Xanax-check. Box of wine-check. That should about cover it.

See ya soon, Ava!

I spoke with the manager of Great Clips today. She says she now has an opening but would need me to work more hours than we had previously discussed. I told her my hours at the temp job are cut way back now so I would be available to work more often and possibly go full-time in a couple of months. She seemed to like the sound of that but has to check with the owner first to see what he says and will get back to me next week. Sounds promising! I sure could use the money right now!

We've had so much rain lately, that the grass is actually green under the snow! Usually it is brown at first and greens up later in the spring. I also noticed that the trees are also green with moss growing on the trunks, limbs and branches. Those of you down in California and Arizona, are the wildflowers and cactuses blooming yet? With so much rain this winter down there, it should be a gorgeous spring!

Just got an update on my nephew, Jeff. The doctor called my brother tonight instead of making them wait until Monday with the PET scan results from this morning. No trace of cancer anywhere else in his body, other than the site of the tumor. That is fantastic news! Like I said earlier, it usually goes to either the lungs or the brain, so he is very lucky! Tuesday, they will go in to remove the tissue around the tumor site and then start radiation. I am sure Jeff and his girlfriend and parents will sleep a lot better tonight, as will I. Thank you all for your good thoughts and prayers!

That's good news, well considering, but still good that it hasn't spread, Barbie. And good luck with the job prospect.

I have no clue what PTL means, but I am asuming it means something good, as that news is SUPER good! How wonderful, even in spite of the facts! Waiting for results is always the pits, so I am happy they got the results to you all pronto.

Good luck with your new clippy job prospects, also! Were you one who said RABBITS the first of this month? Just curious, and doing a study of the power of it!
