LAST DAY OF FEBRUARY

GOOD MORNING TO ALL OF US!
Tomorrow morning will be March, so remember to shout RABBITS before any other words out of your mouth for good luck all month.
It's about 12 degrees F. this morning here, so not really a lot colder than FL appears to be! For the first day in a long while, I can see some sun's rays trying to break through over the mountains and trees, and it's not snowing!
Again I watched Olympics events last night---the last of the competitions other than the final hockey game between our U.S. men's team and the Canadian men. That should be a fun game to watch whether you enjoy team sports, or not. It's a given that one will get the gold medal and the other will get the silver, but, in their minds, the silver will be the 'loser.' What a shame! They both are terrific teams and have bettered all the others in the competition, so either medal is an accomplishment to boast about.
It was great to see the U.S. 4-man bobsled team win the gold last night! It was the first gold for the U.S. in 60 some odd years----since 1948, I believe. Needless to say, the crowd was ecstatic as were the competitors. I will miss the competitions after the closing ceremonies tonight----back to the same old programming and schedules.
Laundry day today, water my plants, play with Molly, maybe ski if it gets warm enough to be enjoyable, and get ready for March.
Coffee is good, Hazlenut, of course, with French vanilla creamer! Hope to hear from all of you before the day is out.

Good morning ladies
thanks for the rabbits reminder Soos, I'm 2 for 2 so far, gotta remember, gotta remember,
gotta remember!
Been up for awhile already, rearranged the dining area and cleaned the papers off the
corner of my table, its a catch all for the stack of mail that comes in. I usually sort
through it at the mailbox and toss the junk in the trash bin so it doesn't even make
it into the rv, but lately I've been in a rush to get out of the cold.
No big plans today, maybe a trip to home depot to find a longer hose for the washing
machine (which I moved) other than that, nada.
We had a good rain last night so everything is wet outside, cleaning up the yard today
is not gonna happen.
Off to catch up on more posts. Enjoy your day and be safe.

I hope I can remember to say rabbits. I usually say something else first thing in the morning, maybe that explains February.
Supposed to get some snow this afternoon. Nothing major, but I'm looking forward to seeing the sun one of these days.
Just had my coffee, now it's off to the dog park where Jess can get crazy. (What happens at the dog park, stays at the dog park.)
Hope you all have a super fantastic Sunday whether you're buried under snow or mowing the grass.

Yay! Sun is shining, birds are singing....or arguing, hard to tell with those little sparrows. Looks like a little fog coming in, but hopefully it'll burn off before long. If the sun comes out enough to dry out the dirt road I live on a little, would love to get the bike out and go for a ride, but if not, there's always tomorrow. I'm not really into 4X4'ing in the mud on a motorcycle. Gotta take Chewy for her "Pack" walk, we missed it yesterday 'cause of all the rain, and make sure we work 2 or 3 times thru the day on her sit, heel and down. The trainer says that all dogs need to work...Chewy says the trainer is full of chit, she doesn't need to work, she doesn't want to work and I should be paying her (in treats, of course) for the privalage of sitting on my lap. And as far as being on a leash all day, well, you know what the trainer can do with that string! (Don't want to repeat it, it wasn't pretty!)

Got wash to fold and put away. I don't mind doing the wash, but lordy I hate folding and putting away. Needless to say, it's been sitting on the couch and I've been digging thru it for clean clothes for 3 days.
Yesterday was so yucky that I did what any red blooded american woman worth her salt does.....went to the beauty shop and got a different hair style. Ended up getting a perm, but a real loose one, just waves, and bless her heart, the operator didn't fry my hair. It actually came out pretty good...so far anyway. I figured if it was awful I could just cut it all off and start over again. We'll see after the first wash in 2 days.
Hope everyone has a day filled with sunshine, warmth and laughter!

Good morning Ladies!
It's a little chilly and overcast right now. Heard rumors the sun is supposed to shine through this afternoon. I slept pretty well last night and woke up before the alarm this morning. That has been happening a lot lately. Guess my body is finally feeling better and I am getting enough rest.
Had a great time yesterday at Opal's 2nd birthday party. She is such a darling and I will so miss her when we start traveling. Found her a couple of toddler books (the cardboard ones that don't tear) and a blue bunny. She immediately sat down and wanted to be read to.
Today is a busy day for me. We have church this morning followed by a potluck and then the Annual Meeting. This evening I am going with two friends out for Thai food and then to the vesper service at the Covenant Church in Bellingham (about 20 miles from here). Should be a good day all in all.
Hope everyone has a great day and finds something enjoyable to do.

Ali, my mother's name was Opal. I don't remember hearing of a child named Opal in a long time. My Grandmother had 9 children. She started out with Bible names and when she got to my mother and her closest sister she named them Pearl and Opal.
We have another pretty day but still a little cool. I may try again to go to the craft show if my friend wants to go. We are going to grill a ribeye for lunch. My DH's favorite meal. I try to hold him to one steak a week.

Morning ladies,
Haven't been on for a while as I have been having some medical issues. Last Monday I was dizzy and my right hand had tremors. Both legs were shaky. I took myself to the "same day" Dr at my medical clinic and he told me he thought I had Parkinson's and he would refer me to a neurologist. That took me back, to say the least!! So I came home and fretted, not what I should have been doing, but it was a shock.
On Wednesday I went to Curves and worked out. Towards the end of the workout I got a feeling of heavy pressure in my breast bone area and shortness of breath. I came home and was undecided if I just overworked or if it was something else. I finally drove myself to the ER. Was there 6 hrs! They did the blood work to see if I had the enzymes to show I'd had a heart attack but that was clean. Chest x ray was fine. The Dr insisted that I check into the hospital so they could monitor my blood every 6 hrs as it sometimes takes the enzymes that long to show up, and also IF I were to have a heart attack it was best to be there. So I got checked in after another long wait as they were short of beds. I finally ended up in a private room. Wonder what the $$ of that will be?
Yet another Dr visited me and said he wanted me to have a nuclear stress test done the next day and it would probably show nothing and I'd get to go home. So I fasted, had the test done and was half way through eating a banana when a cardiologist came in and said to stop eating! She explained that there was a little something on the test that warranted checking into and wanted me to have an angiogram asap. The only problem is that the hospital I was in could do the angiogram, but if I needed stents, they weren't set up by law to do that cause they needed a cardio surgeon standing by and they didn't have one...BUT the other hospital did. At first they were going to do the test and if I needed stents they would then take me by ambulance to the other hospital to finish the procedure. After much time and hee hawing around the cardiologist said the other hospital could work me in that day and I should go by ambulance over there and have the entire procedure done...BUT that depended if they could get an ambulance there on time to truck me over!! A few tense minutes passed and they said to gather up my stuff that the EMTs were on there way up to my room to get me! It was a quiet ride over. At the price I'll get billed I should have arrived with sirens blaring!
I was taken right into the cardiology dept. SW Washington Hospital has one of the finest cardio depts around so I felt somewhat good about that. I signed my life away, almost literally! They cover every aspect so not to get sued. I met the Dr that was to preform the surgery. Nice looking man with a British accent. Kinda cool!

Signed more papers and then was prepped. I asked for the Brazilian trim. The nurse didn't laugh. Hmmm...
So I then was taken to have the angiogram done and it was a breeze. Well, for the most part. Wasn't fun that the nurse had to keep pressure on the puncture sight for 20 mins straight and I also had to lay flat for 4 hrs. Couldn't lift my head or right leg. I was then admitted to a room as it was the only way MY insurnace would cover the costs. The Dr came in a few hours later and said the angiogram was fine. No narrowing of any arteries BUT my heart beats to hard and the result is a thinkening of the walls, which needs to be addressed. SO I was released on Friday night to my daughter's care and am awaiting a call from the cardio's office to set up an ultrasound.
So that's my story! Still haven't heard anything from the neurologist dept. Not sure but feel all that might have been related to my heart issue. I feel that can wait as I want to take care of the heart issue first as my Mother eventually died from this same problem.
Oh, and after the angio I lost my voice and now have a full blown head/chest cold!! Geez!
Think good thoughts and anyone that's a praying woman, please remember me. Thanks!

Lenora,
What a scary experience! But glad you got it checked out right away. Better safe than sorry. Good thing you have insurance! Hope it covers everything, as that can get very expensive in a hurry!
Hope everything else turns out OK for you. Will be thinking about you and throw a prayer your way as well.

Lenora, sorry to hear about your unpleasant adventures of the past week. At least you have been keeping your weight down and haven't been complicating issues. Hope the continued investigations and testings aren't too hair raising (or break the bank). Keep us in the loop! And collect all the (((hugs)))))) you may need to sustain you.

Holy Cow, Lenora! What a lot has been going on with you lately. I am so glad you went directly to the doc and (sort of) got things taken care of. All those tests were very optimistic, and so that's a really good thing. (All except that first doc's diagnosis of Parkinson's-----I never heard of Parkinson's coming on THAT suddenly, and I am thinking, as you mentioned, that those first symptoms you had were related to your heart beating problems.) I am hoping it will all be treatable with some new drug that wasn't around when your mom needed it.
Although I am not a praying person, I can send strength and happy thoughts and healing powers your way. I will light a candle to remind me to keep sending the energy. (Perhaps this is what many people call praying? Whatever, I know I have some power, as do we all, when we put our minds to access it and transmit it.) I heard mention that you were having some medical problems, but nothing from you, so I was in a quandry. We have missed you! Thank you for the update, and we shall all be waiting to see how they will treat your super strong heartbeats. In the meantime, you might want to avoid Curves for a while! I am happy you are with your daughter until some plan of action is established. Keep us posted when you can.
Big hugs to you!

So glad that you went straight to the ER and that you got good care. Hope you get to feeling better real soon and that the rest of the tests go smoothly.

Lenora, glad to see you posting, I have been thinking about you. Sorry to hear you are having health problems. I just went through a valve repair with my son and he's only 41. It's amazing what they can do, but scary. His first symptoms were a racing heart beat and he passed out. So glad he was able to get it taken care of before he had a heart attack.
I think your symptoms had to do with your heart. Parkinson's comes on slowly over time not over night. Good thing you decided to get checked out. Hope they can find a treatment or medication that will help you.

Lenora, I'm so glad that you didn't just stay home and think it will get better, that's what most people, especially women do, myself included. Now things are in motion for a treatment/medication/whatever it takes, so that is good. You will be in my prayers and please do keep us updated.
