Good morning everyone! I hope you all are awake and feeling fine this morning!
I have good news and bad news... The good news is that my girlfriend in Denver says she will take my ferrets, should I decide to head off to California at the end of the summer! Yay! She is wonderful with ferrets and has three of her own so I know my guys would fit in great with her little family. So one more duck in line for me...
The bad news...my dad called last night and told me that my 22 year old nephew, Jeff, went in to the doctor last week with a small lump sticking out on his back side. They cut it out and discovered it is cancerous. They are having it tested to get more information and then decide what needs to be done for him. Hopefully, that is all there is and it hasn't gone internally somewhere. They do have to remove the area around it yet. They didn't think it was cancer when they cut it out the first time, so didn't get all of it then. This kid has been thru a lot already (drug and alcohol addiction and treatment, almost lost his arm in a terrible skate boarding accident, etc). He has recently turned his life around, found a wonderful girlfriend, and has decided to go back to school to become a police officer. Hopefully, this can be taken care of quickly and successfully! I will keep you posted...
Meanwhile, got lots of laundry to do and housecleaning...

Good Morning gals,
wish it was a sunny sunday here, but its not, its raining out this morning and
doesn't look like any break in the clouds. Will have to do my errands with my
umbrella in tow.
Have to make a run to get the propane bottle filled so I can turn the furnace
on. My electric heater works great for normal chill but the propane is much
more efficient when its really cold and with the rain, its REALLY cold and I
plan on a long hot bath today.
I'm so ready for winter to be over, I can imagine how ya'll feel up in those
snowy parts. I keep looking everyday for signs of spring, and I've seen
nothing yet in my neighborhood to indicate spring is around the corner.
Have just about consumed the entire pot of coffee so I think its about time
I get off my duff and get busy.
Enjoy your day and be safe.

Good morning. It's been cold and snowy most of the weekend, great for housecleaning and getting the last bit of Christmas back into the garage. I think Bobby and I might make cupcakes later and watch some movies. I have homework due tomorrow, but I'm trying to ignore it.
Barbie, wishing only the best for your nephew.

Good morning.
We have sun again today - 3 days in a row! It has almost been spring like for a few days but rain moving in tonight followed by cold again. Signs of spring showing a little. Saw a pair of cardinals with male feeding female this morning. Think that means they are preparing to nest. Buttercups and some other spring flowers are peaking thru the ground. Can't wait to see them bloom. I love spring.
I've been working on some bookkeeping and making decent progress but think I'll take today off to enjoy the sun while it lasts.
Have also been on a month long eating binge. That is to stop today. Need some good low cal soup recipes to get past the remainder of the winter. Anyone got a favorite to share, please post. I'm getting tired of my old standbys.
Wishing all a safe and warm day.

Good morning on this cold yet sunny day here in the Pacific Northwest.
Barbie so sorry to hear about your nephew....hope all turns out well for him.
Spring is definitely in the air here as spring bulbs are sprouting. Just hope we don't get a nasty freeze to kill them all off.
Am headed to church and then to Bellingham (about 20 miles from us) to run some errands. Need to get a couple more totes and pick up a few groceries. Hubby's arm is still quite sore so will spend the late afternoon and evening watching the Olympics.
Hope everyone has a great day!
Ali

G'morning,
First of all, prayers for you nephew, Barbie. Such a trying time for him and his family. Keep us updated on his recovery.
I think the weatherman said today and perhaps tomorrow will be the last of our fluke "Springtime-like weather", so I'm going out to see Little Missy and run her genny. I'll even try, again, to get under the hood and look at the battery. My SIL thinks a new one is in order and said he'll pick one up and also teach me to use a trickle charger.
Spent most of yesterday watching my two GDs play BB. The youngest had her last games and her sister's last game is next weekend. It was a little uncomfortable as my X came with his girlfriend. They are doing nothing wrong. I'm not married to him and I'm glad he's in my GD's lives. It's just me having to get past some issues. All part of growing and getting over the past.
Hope everyone has a comforting Sunday.

GOOD AFTERNOON TO ALL!
I've done nothing today but laundry and get 'stuff' picked up and organized. Grey, non-sunny day again and still snowing. All the talk of flowers coming up just boggles my mind, as we still have about 2 feet of snow on the level ground!
Barbie, I am so hoping your nephew's cancer is just a surface type, and that this time they will remove it all plus some good surrounding tissue just to be positive. Keep us informed. I will have a candle lit for him here the rest of the day, and send good thoughts his way.
Ali, Bellingham WA was where I got married the first time! That marriage lasted about 10 days before I began annulment procedures! (But that's another long story!) I loved that place, and the San Juan Islands off the coast. Good memories scattered amongst the horrors there!
Still very cold and miserable outside, so guess I'll just take Molly out into the backyard to wallow through the snow rather than try to go skiing.
Happy Sunday for you all!
Echo....where on earth are you???? We miss you!

Another wonderful spring like day here in the PNW. The rain and clouds are suppose to move back in.
I think I might try and get some yard clean up started today. We end up with so many little tree branches and such. We also had a couple of the smaller alder trees come down this winter. I want to borrow a chainsaw and cut them up for campfire wood.
Then make a trip down to start getting the trailer ready for spring. We have to make an appt to get it down to camping world for spring tune up and replace the window unit.
I have to decide...I need to plant a couple of trees at the edge of our yard...I am trying to decide between a willow tree or a type that get's spring blooms...to add more color to the area. There is too much green...LOL
Barbara...I will keep you nephew in our prayers.

Well, the day has certainly slipped by
. Finally a sunny day here in Sarasota, so I took advantage and sat and read by the pool. Already did laundry and cleaning. tGM is taking a train home and will be back tomorrow. He will have to go back to Raleigh to finish painting after the trim and doors arrive. Had to come up with a red/white outfit for the Canadian dinner here tonight. Just got a last minute invitation after someone got sick-and I never turn down dinner and dancing
.
Barbie, hope all goes well with your nephew. The waiting is always hard. Glad to hear about your ferrets finding a good home. carold

Late for morning coffee...
It's been a beautiful spring-like day in FL...finally! I've been for a couple of short walks after church to enjoy the warm sunshine.
Barbara, I'll be in prayer for your nephew. I'm glad to hear your friend is willing to take your ferrets...that knowledge will help you with making a decision when the time comes.
Bluepinecones...I'm trying to halt my 3-month long eating binge too. My SIL got me started after seeing how much weight she has lost. Only thing is, she left this morning and I fear I'll be slipping up soon.
The city is putting new water pipes and fire hydrants in our neighborhood. Almost everybody's lawn is torn up and dust is everywhere. I'll be glad when they're done....wonder if they'll re-sod the lawn? Doubt it.
Yes, Echo...where are you?
