GOOD MORNING TO ALL OF US!
Happy Prez's Day, and a day off for me----I can't believe my 5 days of vacation are already up. Temperature is about +15, so not so bad, but the wind is relentless this morning, and I have spent the better part of this past hour building a woodfire to get the temperature in this house above 58! I had my Monitor heater turned way down, and, with the wind howling all night, the temp in here plummeted. It's come up to 68 now, and feels tropical at last!
My friend and neighbor, Issy, called me at 7:00 to invite me to breakfast, but I had no intention of fulfilling any schedule today, so I crawled back into bed until I realized my heat was so low. Now I still have my nasty website updating job to do----I've been putting that off for days now, as I so hate to deal with that website. I am hoping it's changed and is now easier to edit and add to----I shall see.
I did not go to the fireworks at the ice palace last night, as my daughter, who has a cold, decided not to go also.....I was very thankful! Too cold and windy out there for me who had been freezing nearly all day yesterday. Yes, I was too lazy to build a wood fire and get in more firewood from the deep snow over the woodpile----something I WILL have to deal with today.
I intend to get warm today, then get cold again when I go outside to bring in firewood, and then perhaps go visit Issy for a bit. Coffee is hot, and the place has warmed up and is now nearly tolerable without a snow suit on! I hope you all are warm and free from shoveling for a change. Stop by and let us know what's up with you!
Gotta get dressed and bring in some firewood----happy Monday to all of you.

Good Morning All - Finally able to get on-line again. Our satellite network went down last week and without phone service I can't get it fixed. Still don't have phone but the campground we are in has excellent wifi! So now I'm trying to catch up on things - bills, blog, webpage etc. Also found out I might be able to fix our internet without phone service - (thanks George) We are now in Lo de Marcos, Nayarit, MX about 35 miles north of Puerta Vallarta. Didn't get to met Tioga George as he had already left Aticama when we got there. Did make one update to my blog yesterday but soooo far behind.
Weather is getting hot - and last 2 campgrounds we were in charged an arm and leg if we wanted to use the airconditioning - 1st one US$5 a day - 2nd one US15 for just 6 hours - now we are in a metered campground so we pay for what we use. Seems fair.
Hope everyone in the south are okay - hang in there winter has to end eventually. Our propane bills at the house this year have been so high - weather has been so cold.
Safe travels to all - stay warm.

good morning gals
a wee bit chilly in here this morning, but thankfully its not extreme. The sun will warm
us up very soon but I really need to go get propane. I put it off yesterday but think thats
not a good idea today. I get too tensed up when its cold and then my joints start to ache.
Finally got an appt for Gracie to get her nails clipped at the vet, she is so hard to do
that I can't do it myself and I don't trust the groomers as her legs are so spindly I'm
afraid of a leg break. I know thats silly but the last leg break cost $2000 and I certainly
can't afford that. I've decided to get a petipaw and attempt to get her used to it so I
can keep them ground down. It will definatley take some training in that dept.
Hope to finish my crochet rug today, I'm down to the last half dozen rows so I think
I'll be able to finish it. This is my first rug I've made and working with rug yarn is
a tad different than regular yarn, but I've enjoyed it and will probably make another
one.
Coffee is done and a bagel for breakfast fills the hole in my tummy. Off to check new
posts and then get started on my day. Have a good one, and be safe.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!
Gads Soos I sure am glad I don't have to deal with anything like that anymore. I've been there with the freezing temps in the house until you can fire up the stove and get warm enough so that it doesn't feel like your living outside. Frozen water in a cup in the sink, wind blowing so hard that snow comes thru the hole in the wall where the stovepipe goes thru and makes a little pile right behind the stove. Oh no, not me, never again. (probably get in trouble for saying that word!) Tahiti would be nice? But AZ is more my pocket speed for now. Sure glad to know that you are getting your goosebumps under control for the day.
After Soos post I hate to write about the weather here. But it's been really nice. High 70's daytime and now the nite time temps are in the high 40's. That's a whole heck of a lot more livable and enjoyable to me. I'll take camping and a cramped screen house over shoveling snow any day.
Wasn't really ready to get up this morning but I heard my phone going off out here in the screen house. Have no idea who the heck it was as the number isn't in my phone book and I don't recognize the area code. Whoever or whatever it was will have to wait until 7pm for me to listen to the voicemail. We are down to something like 30min on our plan until the 19th. Had to call David and tell him to knock off whatever he was doing on the phone as he had gobbled up all the anytime minutes this month. Good thing we have free cell to cell between us. Said he and Jenny have been fighting big time. At home and on the phone. He's been doing a lot of sleeping in his truck out in the driveway so it's a good thing he's got a -30 rated sleeping bag. He has started looking for some place to move. He has talked to a lawyer and will have to have a 2 bedroom place cause Connor will need his own bedroom so that DS can have him for visitation. One of his good friends has offered to be a roomie and share costs so they will need a 3 bedroom. DIL threatened to throw all his stuff out the door and DD told her if she did he already knew that he could take her to court for it. So she has now gotten the wind up and is being all sweet and nice again. Wonder how long that will last? I swear the girl needs psychological help!!! In all honesty you just never know what her mood is gonna be from one hour to the next. ~sigh~
Need to run to town today and get drinking water. We went to town yesterday but forgot to take the water jugs with us. The water here in the campground is really rather nasty. Smells and tastes like musty minerals! Blech! We were buying water but found a city park where you can fill jugs for free in town. So now that's where we go. Can't complain about buying water tho as it is only $.25 per gal at the machines.
Ok, coffee is freshly brewed and waiting on someone elses cup! I just poured my second cup and it really hits the spot this morning. Hope everyone has a super great day today and please do remember to be safe.
Love to all

We have more snow but first it rained and washed off all the road salt so people were very surprised to find the road slicker than anticipated as we only got 2-3" of snow. Today is cold and breezy so I'm settled in with a cup of PG Tips tea and doing some much needed desk organizing.
Yesterday afternoon a young friend of ours popped in with a bouquet of flowers for me and a quart of home made Guinness ice cream for DH. It was such a nice addition to a rather quiet (read boring) day. The ice cream by the way was terrific, sort of a coffee taste. Of course we both love Guinness so that might be a factor.
I hoped that bird I heard singing yesterday morning was a sign that spring would arrive soon but didn't hear even a chirp this AM.
Carol good to see you back was getting concerned. Hope you get everything working again.

Good morning from Blaine. It is a little chilly this morning but at least it is not raining.
Had a rough night sleeping last night ~ hubby pulled a muscle in his shoulder and just could not get comfortable to sleep. First he tried to sleep on his side of the bed, then we traded sides so I was not laying by the sore shoulder, then he moved to the couch, then back to the bed...needless to say it was a long night. I am hoping to get in a nap this afternoon.
I have to run some errands this morning and then want to work on cleaning out our closet...am going to put some of our clothes into storage for while we are working/traveling. Also need to do some clean up here in the motor home...things just seemed to have been dumped around the place over the weekend.
Hope those of you who are battling the snowy weather stay warm and cozy today. Wishing all a great day.

Hi from the west coast! Just to offer a bit of hope to all of you still in the deep freeze....I am seeing the first wild flowers of the season here!
A couple poppies and some popcorn. We are forecast several days of sunshine so many more will be popping out. Another sign of the season....I started the annual ritual of mowing the native grass. It's kind of a fun project because my Dad and I work on it together. Especially the area between our two homes, I think I need to get to it first, but he gets a big kick out of beating me to it! Which he did this year, but there will be many more chances to trade mowing jobs. So much rain means several cuttings for us. And a note of gratitude, my Dad keeps all the mowers running!!! Without him I would be spending more time in the shop than in the yard.
Hope everyone is having a fun President's Day!

Good afternoon
Woke up to yet another fresh snow fall - two days in a row. Yesterday's snow was overcome by rain later in day but todays will last a few days I think as it is still snowing and high only about freezing. So strange, think I've seen more snow over past few weeks than I have in past ten years. At least this one doesn't seem to be causing too many major problems and it is pretty to look at from inside a warm house.
Tried to get motivated to accomplish something today but so far that is not working. Body is stiff and doesn't want to move. Maybe some bookkeeping will get done.
I did make myself get dressed and out for a short while yesterday. More out of guilt that Nicky had had no exercise than any thing else. Took him for a play date with a friend's dog which I think he enjoyed. Even the chipmunks have been in hiding with all the cold weather so they were not providing him any entertainment.
In spite of the cold I did notice a few buttercups peeking thru the ground and there are a few robins playing in the snow so there is a promise of spring.

Mother Nature must know something we don't here. The frogs are singing up a storm in the wetlands by the park and I see a couple of my neighbor's flowerbeds have crocuses blooming and daffodils almost in the bud stage. I needed a new lawn mower so I had my SIL pick one up for me and he delivered it yesterday when he dropped off the GDs for their overnight stay so he and my DD could have a Valentines date night. Yep, Christine, my lawn is looking shaggy, too, but certainly won't try mowing it any time soon as the ground is squishy with all the rain here.
Well, the olympics are on, just wanted to check in. Take care everyone. Seey ya tomorrow, Lord willin'!

Well back to work tomorrow. Today was yet another gorgeous summer-like day (sorry for all of you dealing with the cold/snow). Hubby headed out to golf with some co-workers at 6:30; son and I went to breakfast, then went down to spend a little time with my lovely daughter to deliver her V-day card. Then back home, a little shopping at TJMaxx and Ross to find some inexepnsive golf clothes
hey gotta dress the part, but I refuse to pay out the nose for it.
Was going to golf again, but decided to give it a rest. Hubby got home and took to the overgrown front and side lawns (YES I said Overgrown Green Grass Lawns) with the weed wacker. Grass in the field adjacent to the house and down in our lower most yard is about a foot high. Only thing I don't like about going from having to have the heater on because we are cold cold cold is the drastic sudden change to hot hot hot.
then I soon thereafter usally get sick sick sick
4 day work week and then I'm on a plane to attend a conference in San Antonio, TX. Going to hit the google search to find a par 3 Exec course so hopefully I can practice a little after the days conf. or not? Well today was overall very enjoyable. Had a little drama from a friend about ready to go off the deep end and clobber her hubby with a cast iron fryin pan, but overall a very nice 4 days off. Hopefully the next 4 days will go by without a hitch as well.
Here's wishing you and yours a great week.

Don't you know that's why our grandmothers always used cast iron pots!
